I'm so glad this game got remade! I remember when November 17 was MONTHS away, but now it's finally here! 🥳
I loved this when it came out. I was 11. Now I'm 39 and about to play through it again -- hopefully I've still got my timing.
I played this multiple times since I was a young kid when it came out and I’ve been having a bit of difficulty getting used to the timing, I think they may have slightly adjusted the timings and the animations and speeds of the game are obviously different due to newer technology, so I feel like I’m playing it for the first time with how bad I’ve been with the timed hits lol

Just got it, and I am blown away by the battles, graphics, and triple moves. What a game Nintendo.
Imagine if they made a full on sequel to this game now? I can't imagine that it would be too difficult since they could reuse assets from the remake.

Well ... the problem is more like previous games like Origami King didn't inherit the stories from this game? Many Mario games don't really share assets after all.

This game was my childhood so the remake's gonna be a delight to play.

The graphics here are *glorious* and they for sure seem to be keeping everything folks loved about the original intact. Need to play this one as soon as I can

@gemmyvids Really? I personally feel the upgrades still retains the charm and quality of the original, even though the remake will inevitably feel a bit different considering the game came out over 25 years ago.
It's fine to feel that way, but I do think the team deserves a little appreciation. You can change the soundtrack back to the original in the options anyways, so there's that at least.

Best RPG still for me.
It's a masterpiece. I just beat the game after an all nighter and it's a perfect update to an all time great game. Now we just need a sequel and Geno in Smash🤭

They were behind several Dragon Quest remakes for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS.
And not by Square Enix?

I'm so happy this got remade. The Super Nintendo original has since become one of my all-time favorite JRPGs since I first played it on the SNES Classic a few years back.

At this point there is no sign Geno and Mallow has joined the main cast. It's even kinda too late consider that Nintendo Switch has released so many Mario games.
(fangirl squeal) OMG YES!!! It’s about time! I’m so happy that Super Mario RPG has finally been released today! It’s been a very special day for me because the Mario series is my favorite Nintendo franchise, and I’ve wanted Super Mario RPG to get a remake ever since I read about it on the Mario Wiki years ago! I love that the enemies are now going by their modern names, the addition of Triple Moves and that there are now animated cutscenes! Despite the fact that the Chancellor is still there (I wanted him to be replaced with Toadsworth), the names of most of the locations in the game (I wanted some of them to be changed) and the Nimbus species (I wanted them to be renamed Cirrs) are the same as the original game, and possibly Mario’s different pairs of overalls still being called “shirts” as well, the remake seems to be everything that I wanted it to be! I know very well that it’ll be a huge success! I also found a totally sweet fanfic focusing on Mallow! It's called Through the Eyes of a Frog Prince, and it's really good! I want to edit it for modern times so it can become a real chapter book! Mallow is very precious, and he definitely deserves more love! I hope that he and Geno will appear in many more Mario games in the future! I’m so hyped for this game’s release, as well as the remake of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD and especially Princess Peach: Showtime! I also really hope that Nintendo will someday make New Super Mario Bros. 3, a remake of and a sequel to Super Princess Peach, remakes of Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Super Mario Galaxy 3, Mario Kart 9, remakes of the first Paper Mario game and Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time, a Switch port of Paper Mario: Color Splash, a brand new Mario vs. Donkey Kong game, a new Mario Baseball game and a remake of and a sequel to Mario Sports Mix! I came up with some totally sweet ideas for them, and I hope that all of you and Nintendo will love them all just as much as I do! I just can’t wait to get Super Mario RPG! Happy to see a new generation gets to experience a game I played as a kid. Too bad it seems the difficulty has been dumbed down so much though. It does take away from the strategy a little bit when you can hit 400+ with regular attacks now...
If I had to guess, the characters were made to be max level for more dramatic trailer details.

@@CringeKing103 I'm not even talking about the trailer in this case. I've been playing the game for a few days now because I have a friend that works in retail that got me a copy early lol. The games difficulty, even on "normal" (as the hardest difficulty) you feel really OP right out of the gates in this. Hitting much harder than in the original.
Bosses should never drop in just a few turns.

Nintendo did an incredible job on this remake. The updated visuals look gorgeous! There's just so many newly added details, bringing the characters and world to life. As a huge fan of Mario and RPGs, I simply can't wait to play this one!

Mallow had the Clovers / Clubs
Bowser had the Diamonds
Peach had the Hearts
Geno had the Stars, as there are only 4 poker suits.

I think the problem is if Nintendo really value this game, they should had done more by adding the settings to some other recent new games. Because all the new games are supposed to be the sequel to it in canon aspect.

Seeing the enemies and bosses in 3D looks so awesome, I always wondered what they’ll look like in 3D.

I just finished getting 100% in this tonight, including the postgame stuff, and I had a great time. It stayed MOSTLY faithful to the original, which I loved. I hope this means Nintendo will consider making new RPGs with actual RPG mechanics. 🥰
I bought it and finished it with my wife in a week, I cried with many scenes, I cried because I was a kid again (I'm 32 years old), thank you Nintendo, you have to make a sequel YA YA!

The game that stole my Super Famicom youth is back. I miss the days when I had to erase my saved save data and restart the game. All of the songs are good, and I'm happy just to be able to play the profound story once again.

I'm not gonna buy this Super Mario Rpg Remake because I have original Super Mario Rpg on Super Nintendo Classic Mini, but this remake looks surprisilly GOOD and every small character designes are so CUTE defienitily Princess Peach and Mario. maybe i'll wish this in christmas. It's so AWESOME our long missed heroes Mallow and GENO are BACK IN BUISNESS after thes YEARS! Defienitily i'm HYPED for GENO our real HERO and THE STAR! 🌌🌠

I literally just thought of this game the other day and was thinking it's a shame such a great game hasnt been considered for a remake.
Finished the game today (including the postgame). Quite possibly the best remake in the whole Mario series. That last fight was AWESOME and super hard, too. (Can I say I beat him first try if I used the EarlierTimes once? ;p)

Buying this, because this is one of my favorite games, and to spite that random annoying guy on Miiverse who wouldn't shut up about how much he hates SMRPG.
...His reasons being it "has bad graphics," (yet he likes other 16-bit and 8-bit games) and because he was tired of people asking for it to be rereleased or have Geno in Smash.
I wonder what he thinks of this lol.
