@@emeraldzebra9360 You're kidding me right? You must not be from the states or were born after 9/11... Ladder 10 engine 10 was first due on the day of 9/11. The station is across the street from the site!
There just seemed a lot of people with cameras running over to get the response, thought there may have been a tour organised that took people to different stations. We had one organised here in Adelaide and it was really good fun, a group of like minded people, station hopping and getting some photos and a video or two. Across the street from where tower 2 used to stand. Cortland Street and if my senior brain recalls at the corner of Washington Street. I worked in 2 WTC (not on 9/11) and 2 blocks away at West and Dey St.
Don't make a joke of that because it's not something to joke about , those men lost nearly their entire crew on 9/11 and sadly lost over 300 brothers and sisters and on top of that there's still guys dying slow deaths to this day because of cancer and digestive issues.
Hard to believe they replaced Truck 10 already! Remember when Seagrave rebuilt it after 9/11 and it was in my cities santa parade that year before going east!
They are called houses or quarters. EMS has Stations. 2 x houses in FDNY have the same Engine and Truck. 10 House above (10 Engine / 10 Truck) or 52 Engine 52 Truck in Da Bronx
Haha think the fireman driver needs to look up before reversing in, God bless them all nearly 16 years since they where the first response to the big one.
@@Firebuff101 apparently you can't read between the lines. If the truck can't pull out without backing ( and given the large pedestrian traffic) then a tiller would be beneficial.
@@owensweetland342 Is the bay long enough though? You can't just shove a 60' truck in a 40' bay because it would work better at that particular location.
I guess fdny never got the memo that bay doors can actually have remote controls now? And what’s up with half the crew having to run out in the road and then get in the truck? And the people filming act like they’ve never seen a fire truck in their life. Way different culture to still be in the USA vs how the rest of the country does fire.
It's better to manually close the bay's because that stops any unauthorized entries into the house , once they doors are closed nobody can get in until the crew returns.
As a firefighter in New York and someone with lot of history in the FDNY I'll explain. 1.The bay doors thing I think it cause they don't got remote control ones, I belive it's cause they have so many units and variety they just can't afford it. My department we do but it sometimes doesn't work 2. The fire fighters are outside the trucks to stop cars it's NYC cars are often times bumper to bumper and people always fail to yield I have craxy stories of people blasting past the front door of the fire station as we are leaving 3. People are filming cause it House 10 one of the more famous fire house in the FDNY, and also people film if they see a "cool truck" at my department we have one of the only tower ladders in the area so I seen a few films of our trucks. In all New York fire fighting is very very different due the the city itself and the culture I mean they pronuce "mask" as "mak" driving appears to be wreckless but they are insanely good (Ive been driven by those guys)
Every day these guys must respond to calls while outside hoards of goofballs stand there and video them. Like a responding FDNY rig is any different than an y other responding rig except for these hobby house buffoons, just seeing FDNY on the side likely gives them woodies.
They have to make sure they don't run over the retarded sightseers. If people had enough sense to clear the way, they wouldn't have to have their firemen get out and make sure they aren't going to be dragging some German or Japanese tourist down the block. Not that I'm speaking from experience...
I like that fire station and the sound on the doors go down
I LOVE going to see this house. Every time I'm in New York I go see the house and the wall then the World Trade Center memorial before anything else
Psychosocial Maggot Thankyou!

The amount of cameras here is too much, even for Manhattan..

Why is ladder coming out of the engine and why is engine coming out the ladder
Why do people park on driveways and drive on parkways?
Those are good questions
Perhaps there is more space in the engine bay for the ladder.
