It's hard to promote your music when the platforms you've spent so much time and effort growing your fan base on disappear. All that work. All that time. Poof! Gone. We then find ourselves at the mercy of the social media kingpins who allow us to rent a little attention from our audience here and there. There has to be a better way. A way where we have access to our audience even when a major social media platform such as Facebook or Instagram goes down...right? Well in this video I break down the importance of building a social media ecosystem that will position you to grow and have access to your fans even if multiple social media platforms are down or even worse...randomly delete your account. This is how to own your fanbase when social media is dead.

Like many, I was flabbergasted when it was time to upload my content to IG and it was down... one lesson learned is that I depend too much on a single platform... time to change up the game a bit
I always considered "social"(cough) media to be nothing more than neon sign outside a store window. It'll bring people in but the real interaction starts once they're over the treshhold. I was slightly flabbergasted when people actually started freaking out over this.

That all depends on what your end goal is. All are best for the right person, all can be used improperly by the wrong person.

The houses metaphor is a smart analogy of the difference between your own email list vs social media.
This is also a very clever idea for funnelling people into your email marketing ecosystem.
There's only one problem I can see with this: this only attracts other musicians, singers, rappers, who aren't likely to be the best demographic of the type of superfans that we want in our email list, as they're essentially entering the competition for themselves, not necessarily because they love your music.
Artists are customers if you’re a music producer or beat maker selling instrumentals , hence they are your exact target audience.
@@adamivy In that particular case if you're a 'beat' maker or your market is only as a music producer, then yes, (and I guess that's your predominant target market for this video) and this would be an awesome and very clever way to funnel the right people to your email list. No doubt, but if you're a musician/producer making your own art then we'd need to target a different audience.

Hey Jim. The majority of my work since 2016 has been sync spots for tv and commercials. I’m a producer so the one joke song on Spotify shouldn’t even be up there. Lol.

I can't log in to my Instagram business account because it asked to make a selfie verification because I may have used a third party app, the thing is that when you do take the video selfie it leads you to an error page. Why is it so rare to become a famous musician
It's rare to become successful in the eyes of others in the world we live in. Finding happiness and fulfillment is far more important than becoming famous in my opinion. My mission is to help people find those things in their life by helping them move towards their goals more effectively with less frustration. I don't care if anyone becomes famous.
