How I Disabled Audi SOS Error & Beep

If you've encountered the Audi SOS error, what was the fix? I just encountered the Audi SOS error on my 2020 Audi A4 and am not thrilled. I pressed the volume button on the steering wheel for many seconds but that did not resolve the issue. I also held the "SOS" button for about a minute but that did not resolve the issue either. The Audi SOS error comes and goes. Unfortunately, it makes an annoying alarm sound whenever it reappears. Also, when I call people via my car's bluetooth, I can hear the person that I'm speaking with but they cannot hear me. Also, the Audi App no longer functions. I'm unable to view vehicle status, vehicle location or unlock the doors via the app. This is very frustrating and I purchased the base model Audi intentionally to avoid all of the electronic gadgets that could break. #Audi #SOS

hello again, I disassembled the s.o.s device, there is a battery under the back seat, but it does not charge, I opened the laptop battery, I removed a 3.65 v battery from it and plugged it into the s.o.s transmitter, there was no problem, the s.o.s malfunction disappeared from the screen 👍🏻😅
Wow, that is awesome. My "fix" was to unload the 2020 Audi A4 for a premium and pick up a VW Jetta =). So far the 2021 Jetta has had zero issues. Hopefully newer Audis will be fixed too because I miss the Audi's handling and performance!
@@IrixGuy It is very difficult to get into a luxury car in Algeria. The services turn the car into scrap. Very lucky services in Europe have good parts, you usually have trouble👍🏻

Thanks so much but unfortunately no. This is the only Audi where I’ve had to troubleshoot this specific issue. I’ll had plenty of unrelated troubleshooting adventures with my other Audis and Volkswagens though :)
Hi do you know where the sos backup battery is located in the A5 B9 2018? Is it underneath the back seat or behind the dash board?
I'm not 100% certain but my best guess would be underneath the butts of the back seat!
I took my 2017 Audi Q7 to the dealer because I had issues, after watching your video I opened up my panel and saw that they took that fuse out that was their fix so now I have no connection to the vehicle. I want to put the fuse back in but I don’t know what amp it is?
That’s unacceptable that they did that! I love Audi’s handling and design but these electronics issues are unacceptable. I traded this Audi when used car prices skyrocketed and picked up a 2021 Jetta. So far I’ve had ZERO issues with the electronics in the Jetta. Hopefully Jetta’s electronics will make it into Audi soon because I’d really like an A5 coupe soon!
i have an Audi A5 and this is very annoying. Any ideas of silencing or removing the sos ?
My fix was trading in my 2020 Audi A4 on a 2021 Jetta when the used car prices surged. So far, the 2021 Jetta has had ZERO issues.
Hey man was the sos also draining you battery? My sos was acting up yesterday and today my car wouldn’t start so replaced the battery with a brand new one and took that fuse out. Sos warning is gone but I hope that fixes the issue with my battery draining. Fingers crossed it was just the sos system not cycling back to off once I turned off the vehicle
Strange but I never experienced that! I for rid of the Audi and drive an Acura now. Audi was a great performer with nice interior but all of the electronics issues killed it for me. I’m going to stick with Japanese vehicles until German vehicles sort out electronics issues.
@@IrixGuy it threw me off guard everything was working perfectly fine until I decided to click the sos button everything went haywire after that. Pulling out the fuse seemed to have fixed it but I’m taking it to the shop tomorrow. Disconnecting the fuse got rid of BT connection but still connects thru car play. It’s sad Audi is unreliable like that. I have a 2020 a4 45tfsi sline so it’s not an old car. I might switch to genesis tbh
My SOS was draining the battery on 2020 SQ7. It was annoying.
Did removing the fuse stop the battery drain? If not, how did you rectify the issue? I am going through this exact same thing now. Thanks!
@@EPluribusPinecone yup removing the fuse basically cut off the power to the sos hence stopping it from draining my battery. Only downside is you loose BT so you’ll have to connect through a usb to play music or listen to the radio.
As soon as I remove the fuse I get other error Safety System Malfunction! See Owner's Manual? which does not disappear even when deleting it with VCDS
I gave up on Audi :( Great handling, great MPG, excellent interior but the electronics issues ruin it. I drive an Acura Integra now. Best of luck!
Has anyone been able to disable in a 2017 q7 , according to fuses there is no fuse used for SOS in a 2017

Check the manual because it’s likely different among model years. I “fixed” this problem by getting a 2021 Jetta and so far *zero* issues. Maybe the Volkswagen tech will trickle down to Audi soon!

I got rid of mine when used car prices spiked and picked up an Acura Integra. Acura has really stepped up their styling game and the car is super reliable (both the mechanical and the electronics).
@@IrixGuy don’t get me wrong nice cars but Audis an audi all this new tech is very easy to mess up

It may be a similar procedure but I've only troubleshot the 2022 Audi A4. It was my personal vehicle, so I haven't troubleshot other model years. I wish that I had a better answer and best of luck =). #Audi

audi a5 2017 model's s.o.s problem, if I remove the fuse and replace it, will the problem be solved?
It's hard to say. It didn't resolve my issues but it did disable SOS plus the recurring SOS audible alert. I've had electronics issues with VW Passat, Audi A3 and Audi A4. As silly as it sounds and fingers crossed, my 2021 VW Jetta seems to have an improved infotainment system. It also receives firmware updates over-the-air. Hopefully VAG has corrected all of these electronics issues 2021 and beyond. I say this because I don't want to give you false hope LOL.

yes, there is an s.o.s device under the rear seat removal, open the battery cover, change the battery, s.o.s failure goes away from the screen
