- LOOK AT THAT VIEW! Pat and Kay live part-time at La Barqueta which is in Chiriqui Province about 40 minutes southwest of David. Chiriqui Province is on the far western side of Panama. They came on a Panama Relocation Tour and were considering coming to Panama for a few months every year. But when they saw Panama and this beach house, they fell in love and decided to buy the house so they could spend more time in Panama. In this video, they share what their life is like living in Panama part-time.
La Barqueta is known to have strong zip tides so it is better not to go into the water unless you are a strong and experienced swimmer.
La Barqueta has a close-knit expat community. David, the closest town, has an airport, several big hospitals, and a lot of shopping available.

For ANYONE who wants to learn more about living in Panama in your "silver" years or just want to know more about living in Panama......Jackie Lange's tours is where you want to start! I am a retired U.S. Diplomat who have served the U.S. all over the world for 30 years! This tour really taught me alot of new things!!! I must tell our Foreign Service Institute about Jackie's tour to help prepare our new Diplomats for their "AREA STUDIES" on this part of the world!
THANKS for the great compliment! Ambassadors for other countries have contacted us to help educate people who are relocating to Panama about all the things they need to know so they will have a smooth and stress-free transition.
Glad to see a video from someone who lives in Panama part-time. My wife and I plan to do the same, living there 4-5 months of the year to get out of the Houston heat (looking at Boquete for the cooler climate rather than the beach).
Surprised they didn't rent first, rather than buy. Appreciate the discussion of burglaries during the off-season when houses are vacant.
I've heard of ppl getting house-sitters during the off-season.
My beautiful country 🇵🇦
Lovely introduction, thanks for sharing. Love to see people of all walks relocating to Panama. Will be retiring back to our lovely country Panama in December, Panama motto always being "Pro Mundi Beneficio"For the benefit of world"
Panama welcome all with open arms, we love the delightful contributions, experiences and diverse culture the international community brings to Panama, it is the base of our happiness and humbleness.
Excellent video, real, authentic and honest. No sugarcoating testimonial. Nice area and I those home are gorgeous. Most doctors in Panama speak English or were educated in good universities like those in Panama or the U.S., Canada, or Europe.
Thanks for the great video. You both speak slowly and clearly, which makes it enjoyable. Panama has been on my radar for 2 years now, getting all the real estate properties for sale online. This was the year I was going to visit, but the virus put everything on hold. Looking more towards Coronado as I like to golf, but it's nice see other areas. And I think the relocation tour sounds the perfect way to go. Again, thank you, and keep safe.
Thank you for sharing your experience and beautiful home. Joy to you always!
Thanks for watching!
I hear driving in the city of 🇵🇦 is crazy. Usually if you live in a small town is not as bad. Nice video guys...saludos!!
Driving in Panama City is insane. I won't do it! But driving anywhere else in Panama is easy peasy.
Thanks so much for all your insights about living in Panama part-time. Hope to take Jackie's relocation tour after COVID. We have two small dogs we plan to bring with us, so I'm glad to hear that you did that too!
Wow; I am from the Bronx, Pelham Parkway and Eastchester rd. 53 years. I left my home and came back to my country. I will always be a Bronxite.
Thanks for the great well produced video. Very nice combination of information combined with scenery. Others should take notes !
Beautiful place!!
It really is!
Thanks for the video !
My pleasure!
God bless you guys!
Great video guys
Thanks! Glad you like the video
Wonderful video... I'm not sure, even if I planned on doing it part-time, would I be able to leave that home and that beach. Congratulations you two.
I'm soooo excited about relocating to Panama after the borders open up!
I sure wish Panama would open up their country for incoming flights. I've been anxious to go down there for a serious look-see.
Same here!

Theres ways to get to panama
@@studiodevelopers2467 Lots & lots of ways! Skydive & parachute. Special Ops amphibious boat. As a stowaway. Two people dressed in an horse outfit. lol
Did they ever mention the price they paid for their house? It's absolutely beautiful inside and outside.
PAT get one of those trendy LOW-Step Bikes.
great idea!
nice house! nice people!
I wonder if there is a possibility to rent a house like this for a few weeks?
Is this a rental property when they’re not there?
Tracy, yes they rent it out when they are not there.
Where exactly are you located.? Sounds relaxing.
As they said in the video, they are at Playa La Barqueta.
@@PanamaRelocationTours Thanks but that is not so easy to find if you don't know the area. finally found it when they mentioned David !
I’m just wondering how you manage your property in Panama after being gone for so long. No issues with stealing ? Do they have security ? Do they rent out the house ? Thanks !
no problems with stealing. They have renters in their house when they are away.
I like her comments about driving: no cop no stop. So true and typical but … you learn. 😅
wonder how much for 2week
What about when you are in the states for a few months and come back. I have heard mold is a real problem there. How do you mitigate mold while you are away for months?
When someone needs to go away for a few months, they usually get a house sitter who will keep the windows open for air circulation, keep the dehumidifiers going, etc.
What was the cost of the property?////////////???????.
Less than $300,000
@@PanamaRelocationTours What do you mean.....usd... aud ...can d.... euros. or pasos
......who makes a video and then doesnt talk about the price.
@@thenoall4713 usually the $ sign means dollars, and if its not specified further in this context its obviously US dollars.
Alwahys RENT 1st!
I see empty lots, what does a lot in that area cost?
This is insane you have 44 comments my number is 444. I was born and raised in Panama and I currently live in the Bronx what are the odds? Im planning on going back home for a visit in March hopefully I find something I like for purchase in the near future. Im from the city but need the tranquility.
if you need tranquilo, you would not like living in Panama City. There are many other AMAZING options!
What would it cost to rent a similar property per month on that beach?
in that area, it would cost $1600 - $1800 a month. There are other similar areas in panama where rent would be $800 - $1000 a month
@@PanamaRelocationTours what are the rental prices for a home like this in the same area in 2024?
Do you need a house sitter when your not there??
They have one
Anyone else need a house sitter??
How much was your house?
Couldn't hear sound !
Neil, unmute it!
Sound was fine, must be your computer.
Contact me if you folks need a house sitter during you away times.
half canadians, half expats? we are locals now?
