    Hi Angie, thanks so much for your informative videos. I have watched some of them 3 times. Some of the content found on your channel you have to pay for in beginner acting classes. Looking forward to more videos and your web series too.

    You inspired me so much! I want to start acting, i'm 20 and I want to aim high, and I know it's a long term game but I'm from Italy and here there is not a lot to do so I was thinking about moving to Australia to study acting and build curriculum, and then after like 4-5 years of experience moving to LA - Do you think it can work? I know that if you are from Europe and you wanna move to LA you have to first be famous in your own country, but i wanna live abroad. Is this is a good plan to aspiring getting famous? Or is it better to start in Italy, becoming "somebody" here and then moving to LA?

      @AngiePattersonYT  3 года назад +1

      Hi! Everyone's path is different. If there's an amazing acting school in Australia you want to study at, then go for it! If you're trying to get famous, then just know that is not what being an actor is really about. It happens to VERY few actors. Sure it would be helpful to arrive in LA with some credits already on your resume, but shouldn't be the determining factor in your decision.

    Im older now.
    However, becoming a great actor would have been a good career for me. In many ways, performing and nuisance seems natural to me. It would have been enjoyable to create cinematic art through story telling by the means of role playing as a character. Helping to bring joy to today's current and tomorrow's future audience.
    I am good with memorization, feeding and playing off of other people's energy, hitting marks and taking directions very well. My goal would not to leave a mark on this world, but to bring a little bit of joy and happiness to many people's lives.
    At this point, and cosmetically speaking, I'd need to have braces for my teeth, and would physically have to lose at least 25plbs of body weight.
    Thanks for your videos, though. It is nice to know what steps one should take to pursue acting as a career.

    Thank you for this Angie! Quick question, whats your take on how long your e-mail should be to these reps? Most people say on the shorter side, some say longer..sometimes I wonder if they're being read at all and if I should just say hi and send my Actors Access profile since my reel is on there. Any advice on what you think works best for this? Thank you! Kendal

    Can you do a video about what do you need to have to get into drama school?

  • @ivavon7122
    @ivavon7122 4 года назад +2

    So.. We buy the IMDC Pro, we seek for our type of film and when we do that we also can go find managers and submit to them, however when it comes to auditions actors access is better isn’t it?

    • @AngiePattersonYT
      @AngiePattersonYT  4 года назад +1

      In the meantime when you don't have a manger yet, yes, you can use Actors Access. You can even continue using it after you get representation, because it will have some smaller independent projects that your reps won't be submitting you for.

    Hi Angie! I love your videos they’ve been so helpful! If you get a chance could you discuss “one line auditions” I’ve got this assignment in acting class and I didn’t understand it at first, my teacher tried to explain it telling us to create a backstory as to why we’re saying the line. But everything I’m seeing online says to not worry about doing that and not make it about you, make it about the source...

    • @katiewetzel7117
      @katiewetzel7117 4 года назад +1

      My acting coach likes to give one liners as well. What I do is to answer three questions: who am I talking to, why am I saying it (motivation), and where am I? Those three questions really give me all the information I need for the background of the character/scene and can be answered in a few short words or sentence. Hope this helps!!

    Angie,i got representation a year ago but have not gotten any work with them.Also,i missed out on several submissions for roles because they failed to contact me in the time frame that submissions were to be sent.I want to leave them but they are the only agency that will currently represent me.
    Should i quit them and try to find new represntation or stick with them knowing that they are likely the only agency that will represent me due to my extremely limited experience.Thanks so much for any advice you give,love your channel!

      You shouldn't stay somewhere that you aren't unhappy, but right now during the pandemic, it may be hard to get meetings. You might want to wait until things normalize... or roll the dice and reach out to some reps - up to you! Just know that some agents or managers won't meet with you if you're currently represented by another agent or manager.

    Hey, can you maybe give me some advice? I want to be an actress (in America) and i live in Croatia in a city where I don't have acting classes, and I wan't to get a great actor, so at least I can see if that's for me, if I'm good, I'm not talented, but I love it. And, I thought, maybe, can you recommend me some good online acting classes that have improve, auditioning, commercial... classes, i want to start learning as soon as possible, because I'm already 14 yo, and i discovered that i want to act (professionaly) a year ago. And I don't know how am I going to audition and all that stuff... Because I live here, and my parents would probably never want to move to USA. So, thank you sooo much if anyone replies, I would rly appreciate that

    • @AngiePattersonYT
      @AngiePattersonYT  3 года назад +1

      Hi Marta! Because you're 14, you are going to need the help of your parents with this, not me. If they help you search, you can find an acting class in Croatia, or online.

    What classify a good Manager or agent? Like I hear all the time to get one but no one explains what makes a good one, percentage or fees, how do they get paid, etc... like I know they are good for connection for auditons but are they good for anything else?

    • @AngiePattersonYT
      @AngiePattersonYT  2 года назад

      Hi Kathleen! No fees, just percentages - if they take fees, they're not the real deal. 10-15% is standard. Sometimes 20% for managers. I believe it can vary state to state a little bit. A "good" manager or agent has clients that are working, understands you and what you sell best. They should feel like a great teammate for you.

      Hi! I think an actual acting class, whether its a theater acting class or on-camera, would be best to improve your callback chances.
