    Yes. Thank you. This is an important thing to know, so many are in the dark about the difference, especially on a contract level. Per contract with a management agency, it will usually stipulate exclusive propriety with talent, unless referred by them to another management agency as your "mother agency." However, this doesn't prohibit your agreement with an "Agent." Management agencies like to throw around their use of the "agency " word in their contracts, but this is a clever legal device, arguable and discouraging to talent seeking out other representatives. Thank you for posting this video. It's gotta be a godsend for many. ❤

    Hi Ajarae! Your videos have been very helpful for me through the deciding process. I just have a question about going after very specific film projects in your acting career. Would it be such a sin if would wanna star in a film like something Spike Jonze would direct rather than a big budget film. I know that sounds sorta pretentious and arrogant but I really love films that experiment and try doing things differently. Art house films and indie philosophical films that explore such themes of humanity. I'm graduating high school soon and I want to move to ether NY or LA for acting and get an agent. How you do think I could get closer to being in projects like this?
    Any advice is appreciated because I literally don't know what I'm doing haha
    - Thank you :)

    How do managers get paid verses agents?

    • @AjaraeColeman
      @AjaraeColeman 6 лет назад +5

      both typically work on commission. 10% for agents and 15% for managers is pretty standard. hope that helps!

      @@AjaraeColeman so 25% of my money is gone before I even get to taxes. Seems like a manager for acting is just an extra bill.

    Thank you so much for this information. I have no one to travel with and I am not experienced with traveling alone. Do your manager travel with you or you travel alone?

      Usually, you travel alone when you booking an out-of-town shoot, but your representatives will work that out with casting. Hope this helps! :)
