Some awesome information there! Thank you! The best part of the video, however, starts at 3:47. The bloopers are always great! :) :) :) :)

What if the agencies take cold submissions? Many agencies where I live tell you how to submit to them such as “if you wish to be considered to be a client submit a resume, headshot, demo reel etc and we will get back to you in 2 weeks if we are interested”. Should I just submit that?

Yes! If they have explicit submission instructions, follow those. :)

Great video. Do you have suggestions on how/when to follow-up with them if they have not responded? I get various answers about that. Thanks so much.

ooooh yes I have so many thoughts! Ask this question in my actor FB group, you'll get lots more feedback than I can give in a YT comment. ActorsWhoGetIt.com

What should we write for the subject line?

An agent told me to put "submission" on the subject line.

You didn't mention a reel. Should we send clips now instead? What about a "sizzle reel"? A peer I respect and who teaches classes in my area did a "theatrical" sizzle reel" but it was all montage with this irritating RUclips commercial music underneath. Pretty sure that's a no no. So then I think what has the movie world come to when even she can't "get it right"?
I've got plenty of clips but haven't put it altogether. I'm a hard time finding good reel examples.

The link you include should def have performance video, whether it's clips or a short reel. I think one reel is easier for them to get a good snapshot of your work. Have you checked out any of our videos on reels?

      Yes, absolutely CLIPS.
In my area, several friends are working actors who've replaced their demo reels with 10-15 sec clips of their work for film/TV casting. It's the way the industry is evolving being talent agents and CDs no longer sit through entire demo reels for a relevant character shot.

What if I don't have any music career before?

Thanks for sharing, but you did not provide specifics on how to word the cold email to a prospective agent.

Thanks for watching eaglegrad16. Cold emails to reps can vary quite a bit depending on the circumstance, so it's a little too much to go into in a YT comment. Ask this question in our free FB Community, Actors Who Get It so we can discuss more! You can also check out the Agent Action Guide at the link the in description!
