Once again, I’m blown away at what I’m learning from you bro. Cold submits? Damn that’s exactly like the cold calling/emailing I do in sales. Never crossed my mind to think of auditioning like prospecting.
Hopefully you realize how valuable these videos are for folks with no knowledge of the industry, but a deep passion to create. You're educating so many people on a world that is very difficult to maneuver, the generosity and support you're providing with such first had knowledge is so wonderful! Keep doing what you're doing, I think these videos will have many prospective actors pursuing their dreams with a whole new fervor. We should trade stories sometime :)
@@TristanSpohnAKASpidermanMy name is Flavio and I am a model in Albania but in this country modeling and acting is not so famous I want to be a Hollywood actor. I have a question having a lot of money can make more Chance to go in Hollywood and to be a famous actor, Please Can you give me the explonation where to pay the money and to be an actor please
I want to be an actor so bad and have tried to do so many auditions but they all require having an agent. I’m so glad I found your channel and this video!
I think you should make a vid titled “What it was like to work with Millie Bobby Brown” But in the vid go over all the celebs (including duffer brothers) you worked with, and your interaction with them. I think that vid can get a shit ton of views as ppl are interested in that sorta thing
These are great tips, thank you! Could you pleeease ... 🙂 do a video about typecasting in the future! I find it just so confusing. Some people seem to categorize type somewhat based on occupation (cop, lawyer, mom/dad etc.) some by character traits (sassy, quirky, determined). How did you come up with yours? Were those simply the type of characters you were drawn to the most naturally?
This is a good video idea! What I can immediately tell you is that you want it to be more specific than just occupation. For example, instead of cop, your type can be the rookie cop with a heart of gold. It could be the no-nonsense seasoned veteran. If your type is too generic, you’re going to be similar to everyone else trying to capture the generic type with material that may not be specific enough to stand out from the crowd. So I like to start with maybe a typical type but go more specific. The Boy Next Door with Daddy Issues. The Bully with a vulnerable side. Hopefully this helps! Edit: Also the way you find your type is practice. The quickest way is to try to compile a group of scripts with drastically different types of character. Record yourself doing simply a cold read where you only go based off instincts and see which comes most naturally to you.
@@TristanSpohnAKASpiderman Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a detailed answer! I really appreciate it. And yes it was helpful as it immediately sparked some ideas of what I could try. I guess I also have a tendency to overthink this when the reality is that I just have to try things, trust my instincts and keep going until sth. works out. Thanks again for all your efforts and have a great weekend!
This is going to be incredibly helpful thank You Tristan so I'm having one big issue with these short films or self tapes or demo reels I overthink a lot of things and I just can't come up with a decent story or what type of story to use I'm just wondering does that really matter and if it does / dozen't could you just give me some inspiration on just a Bare Bones story I could do thank you ❤

Hey Tristian, my dream job is to become an actor. How do I find auditions, is it better to have an agent to be able to find auditions, or could I find auditions without one?
Hey good questions, these should’ve been answered in the video. Actors Access, Backstage, and Casting Networks are the three places you can self submit, but you won’t have access to the majority of major roles without an agent
@@martth3great89No. Younger in fact is much easier than when you are much older and you can find an agent at any age. Under 18 you will generally need a parent involve. Good luck.
I have a question =) on set, are you aloud to ask the directors for pointers about your scene? Like if your character would act or do something a certain way? Or are you just expected to kinda wing it with only your script and what you know about the character? Sorry if this question doesn’t make sense lol, but I think you’re an amazing actor! I think your preference as 002 was incredible!
Hi Tristan! Should I put the "character description" into the email object for managers too? Like you wrote "20's, vulnerable antagonist" etc! Thank you:)
Would I be able to put myself out there with short films based on real movies? Like for example, I really like the scream franchise, would I be able to make a short film based on that?
This is where it’s good to do the IMDB check and make sure they’re a reputable agency OR to make sure your materials are specialized. It’s possible your headshot and reel are too generalized to stand out as a specific character type which makes you blend into the submissions and harder to get called in.
I’ve never acted before but want to learn. The problem is I can’t do classes. How would I learn/practice without anyone else to help? Thanks for your vids! Super helpful!
I am a great fan of your acting. I have a very interesting horror short movie script about a home assistant. It would be really, really great if an actor like yuo help me make this movie. If u somehow read this or if u r up, i will be EXTREMELY HAPPY! I am gonna put the same comment in all of your videos rn so you see it :)
