Panthers are just smothering. I'm a Boston Bruins fan and when Florida beat us I hoped that they would lose to the rangers but after watching them, win it and watch ing their post game interviews, I've realized that they're good guys, their coach is a good coach, and they work their tail off and they deserve this. Stanley cups going to be tough but this team just is incredibly defensive and as long as they play their game, I don't think anybody can beat them
Born and raised in South Florida here. I can tell you, people are EXCITED for Panther hockey. The bars are FULL. People are stoked on this team. Hockey is alive in South Florida. That’s for sure! We have no other sport to be this excited about. We love our Panther’s boys.
If only the Dolphins and Hurricanes could get their crap together.....this has always been a football town, but they keep letting us down. At least we have our Cats trying to win the big one for our city!

Very well built and run team. Hockey is alive and well in Florida. Regardless of what happens as the core of the Bolts ages and possibly splits up, FL remains a centerpiece for hockey clubs run well.
This series as a whole. They didn’t even look like they deserved to be there besides Igor being insane. East was way more shallow than West this year. I think all 4 teams in the second round for the West would pretty confidently smack down any team but Florida from the East’s final 4. Metro was just garbage besides top 2 teams, Boston was much worse than last year, Leafs are not built for the playoffs and Bolts were a one man team. I’m still not sure what my thoughts on the Canes are. Vegas and maybe even Preds likely would’ve beaten anyone but Panthers too. None of that takes away from Panthers though. They are extremely well built and playing great.

Shesterkin played an amazing series. Reminded me of Hasek in Buffalo. Forsling continues to excel for the Cats. Most impressive thing though, was when Florida would cycle the puck it felt as though the Rangers would never leave their zone. Game 2 overtime is really only period Panthers didn’t do that and it cost them.
I'm here, as a Caps fan, to say I don't think the Rangers knew what they needed to get past the Panthers. It just wasn't there. They rolled through the first round (obviously) and built up a false steam. Much kudos to Shesty that man was single gloved taking this to 7 if he could.
Little premature on that. I know Oilers (and likely Stars) would be considered underdogs in the series. But Oilers have truly lethal PP and PK units, have played great team defense and have the best offense remaining in the playoffs with the 2 best players on the ice guaranteed against any opponent but Avs and Bolts. Only MacKinnon, Makar, and Kucherov have arguments as better than Draisatl right now and no one has arguments over McDavid. Auston may be better than Drai though I’m not even confident on that given how much Drai elevates against playoff competition. I absolutely love Tkachuk but he is third best player in an Oilers vs Panthers series.

If stars can shut down oilers PP i have faith panthers can too. And no matter how good your offense is you cant deny that their defense is lacking
@cjcable6995 Rangers came into the series with the best special team and only went 1/16 on the power play. Mcdrai is scary, but I think most can agree that their defense is their weakest link. If panthers can suffocate oilers and keep them in their zone like they did against the rangers, they won’t have igor to bail them out. Skinner is a good goalie, and has especially shown his worth in the last game, but he’s no shesterskin. It’s really a matter of whether the team will collapse again, because so far panthers have been extremely effective at shutting the stars down.

I gotta respectfully disagree with you on Henrik Lundqvist. He did not carry the team, at least not after the regular season. As for the regular season he was an incredible goaltender, but he was not built for the playoffs like Igor, when it mattered the most. I can’t tell you how many leads I’ve seen him lose. just look at his stats, 15 years with the Rangers, and only one eastern conference final championship, 12 out of those seasons were in the playoffs. So that backs up my point, he was incredible in the regular season (and a big reason why they consistently made the playoffs), not so much in the playoffs though. Ranger fans… deal with it. He was not as you called him “The King”

I just think it's an interesting observation, that what it takes to win in the regular season and what it takes to win in the playoffs are two very different things. Adam Fox is only 26, so is Lindgren, Trouba is only 30 (which is still young for a captain Vet), Schneider is only 22, K'andre Miller 24. The Oilers became this strong when they added 34 years old Eckholm to a group of near 30 year olds to accompagny Bouchard (& Broberg to a lesser extent), the Panthers best this last 2 games has been 27 yr old Forsling who's the youngest of their D core along guys like Ekblad, Montour, Ekman-Larsson & Mikkola. Same goes with the Stars, Heiskanen is a beast that will keep dominating for a long time, he's the youngest of an even older overall group that became even stronger with the addition of 34 year old Tanev. I could almost do the same comp with the forwards. This Rangers team will be back in the playoffs next year, and i have them going for the final this time around. They played against 2 of the very best overall Playoff defenses in the league to get to that game 6, best XP one could dream of to go and do better next year.
