Agreed. A very solid lager. One of my faves. Extremely drinkable and refreshing with a depth of flavour you won't find in the other brands of it's size and popularity.
I’m literally drinking the beer right now watching your review nodding my head like son of a B this guy is good. Instant follow buddy you nailed it on the head.
Yessss paul!! I left a comment asking you to review this one a few weeks back too so lucky me :) They have it in my local Tesco Extra. Cheers pal enjoy
this stuff is absolutely class. picked 2 cans of it up for tonight. i love the can aswell, it almost feels like a thick metal container as opposed to a "can" 😙😂
Sapporo, one of my Top 10 beers of all-time. Of course I am a Lager boy so...:) I hope you can do a review on Baltika 7 beer from Rusia that happens to be my #1 beer
They still sell them in our big Tesco thankfully. £2.85 per can so not cheap but they are 650ml and I think the taste is worth it. Will be enjoying it when watching Nate and Khamzat's fights! Nice review Paul.
Great review so far. I always recommend a lager/pils glass for these types of beers. The tulip you have is perfect for many types of beers but those thin, tall lager glasses really do a lot for the beer
I absolutely love Sapporo. I'd heard it was decent many years ago, but only recently got around to actually trying it and was surprised with how good it was. Not that I'd think Japanese can't make a good beer, it's just that while I do drink beer, i'm not necessarily a big beer lover, so I don't commonly come across new beers that I absolutely love. It's why I stuck to Guinness for so many years hardly branching out cuz it never disappointed. Not that Sapporo is anything like Guinness, but it's absolutely delicious!
I m a weekend beer binge drinker since 1991. I am drinking sapporo right now, honestly I don't see any different between the most famous expensive lager and the less known cheap lager. the only difference is the can design and colors. I bought Sapporo because it was on sale, thanks for your review.
Have a can of that in my fridge since last summer, must get round to reviewing it mate, everyone I have spoken to has gave this the thumbs up, oh by the way I finally got the trooper set 🤘
Here in Tijuana, Mexico, a 6 pack of those (12oz) is 27 USD. Considering that a regular Mexican 6 pack costs 4.66 USD, it's definitely a head turner. Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the review, champ.
I have tried many Japanese beers, and this silver can of Sapporo is the best. People in Hong Kong always praise the Asahi but none works for me as a delicious beer, but the silver can Sapporo, which sometimes I can find in Costco UK. The funny thing is this silver can Sapporo is an export version, I didn't find any like this in Japan or I don't know which one was when I travelled there in the grocery stores. The black background icon with the white can of Sapporo beer in Japan does not have the same taste as this, or anyone can recommend a similar beer in Japan to me please?
Good review, I also notice that this Japanese beer was made in Vietnam. This sort of thing reminds me of the black memorial wall in Washington. One minute in time we are fighting a war and now we are drinking their beer.
Ive drank this in the past and i picked up a 6 pack of those cans today. Right off the bat i thought its malty. I believe its a malt liquor. But it is smooth and very drinkable. They are $2.99 usd per can at Walmart.
That’s a great shout buddy. Warsteiner is a great lager. Without doing a side by side comparison I’d say Sapporo has a more full malty body, whereas Warsteiner is slightly more crisp and refreshing (slightly more sessionable). Be a great beer off though. You should try it
Quite funny as I drank this and thought it was an Eastern European Beer. Not Japanese! the branding with the Star makes it look more like it could be from an Eastern Block country. Learn something new every day!
Sapporo on tap in Japan is one of the best lagers you’ll ever have. Worth visiting Japan for the beers, they know what they’re doing
Guy's already drunk starting the video, good one on you! ABSOLUTELY PREMIUM! Love it.

Love that comment 😆. Thank you my friend 🙏🏻🍻

First non Canadian beer I tasted back in 1980, had it many times thereafter. 8/10 is right on Paul 🎯 👍
this stuff is absolutely class. picked 2 cans of it up for tonight. i love the can aswell, it almost feels like a thick metal container as opposed to a "can" 😙😂
They are not messing around with that can.
SPACE CANS
About to try this tonight. Great review. Wish me luck
Sapporo, one of my Top 10 beers of all-time. Of course I am a Lager boy so...:) I hope you can do a review on Baltika 7 beer from Rusia that happens to be my #1 beer
how can you memorize 10 beer brands? Me I cant 😀

Best lawnmower beer I’ve ever had. Those cans get dead cold

Great Lager. My first choice of Supermarket lagers. It’s amazing on a hot day.
Great review once again, Paul, it's a very decent lager. I'd recommend you trying Sapporo Black (their stout). It's also cracking, in my opinion :)

If you notice, Sapporo has a smoother drinkability to it, with just the right amount of bitterness to it
Have a can of that in my fridge since last summer, must get round to reviewing it mate, everyone I have spoken to has gave this the thumbs up, oh by the way I finally got the trooper set 🤘
So tasty, drinking it for the first time right now. The can is a BEAST, solid aluminum, easy open tab, and the sip hole is lovely. lol

So, please recommend your German best. I do feel like Sapporo, and Kirin really have it, well.
Augustiner Brau - Helles lager. Try that one 🍻
Drinking one now, mine is a lighter color, more straw. Does it remind you of Heineken?
I really slept on this beer but it is now one of my favorites, the taste is amazing.

I used a can opener to take the top off and now I pour my water in there, can is durable. I'll tell you what🙂
Great idea
Sounds like a fantastic lager. I must try it!
Sapporo is really good beer. I love german beers the most but Sapporo for my taste is really good. For me it's better than Asahi :)
Good review, I also notice that this Japanese beer was made in Vietnam. This sort of thing reminds me of the black memorial wall in Washington. One minute in time we are fighting a war and now we are drinking their beer.
Great Brew !!!
Ive drank this in the past and i picked up a 6 pack of those cans today. Right off the bat i thought its malty. I believe its a malt liquor. But it is smooth and very drinkable. They are $2.99 usd per can at Walmart.
Drink it from time to time, funny though it's usually made in guelph ontario or vietnam
My tesco sells it in glasgow buddy. Great review!
Does it compete with warsteiner? Loving that stuff right now 👍🏻
That’s a great shout buddy. Warsteiner is a great lager.
Without doing a side by side comparison I’d say Sapporo has a more full malty body, whereas Warsteiner is slightly more crisp and refreshing (slightly more sessionable).
Be a great beer off though. You should try it
Ive been to the city, most people drink Tsingdao Beer
This is my favorite beer 🍺
It’s a good drink for the end of your day 🤌🏽
It refreshing for it style
Brilliant 30 years ago when the entire top came off and drank it straight out of the can like a pint tumbler
It’s Japanese design on German engineering. Great commercial lager.
I like Sapporo and even more so, the Sapporo Reserve and Sapporo Black.
We have this on tap at a 🍣 restaurant I go to I love it
Im not a beer drunker but sapporo is the best beer and the can show they care about thier quality , n sapporo taste the best
its good branding. fair play. Looks like a mighty beer!
Nice review, Sapporo just drinks away so smoothly
Sipping on one right now, cheers mate
Paul in the states brewed in Ontario Canada
My go to larger, $17.99 a case @Costco here in the states
It’s so crisp for a regular lager
That beer is more if a flavor beer not a beer that watery down although I wouldn't drink alot of those can make you drunk easy.
The couple of Tescos where I am stock it, the can is intimidating AF!
Quite funny as I drank this and thought it was an Eastern European Beer. Not Japanese! the branding with the Star makes it look more like it could be from an Eastern Block country. Learn something new every day!
As for as Japanese beers go would you go for this or asahi
Sapporo definitely 🍻
If this beer resembles a German Helles I would probably like it. 👍
Lovely beer... although the Sapporo Black on the other hand not my thing lol
My tesco sells it brought one today drinking it now
I like that beer 🍺 a lot
I feel like it didn't have much flavour to it at all, tasted fine but there wasn't any bite to it or something. Didn't do it for me
sapporo is nice beer.
It is good.
Surprisingly the Japanese make a pretty good Beer… I wouldn’t say no to a couple of Sapporo’s…
Your version must be different From the version vended here in the u.s.
Goes great with Chinese Food. I almost got one to have with sushi once, luckily they told me it would diminish the palate for enjoying the sushi
Totally agree. Always get a couple cans when I get chinese. Especially fried items.
ARE YOU BUYING ONE OR BEING ONE? I'm going to drink it until I Drop.
I want to see someone able to crush the can with one hand
Morrison’s did have it no more tho
that is not made in Japan. Only black label is
that stuff is expensive.
I don't like Sapporo that much,, Asahi is much better 🍺
Its one of the best lagers
