- This morning, Justice Merchan held another contempt hearing in which prosecutors argued that Trump had violated the gag order four more times. Trump's lawyer, Todd Blanche, apparently appeared anxious and desperate to get his point across.

Nothing will stop Trump which is why he should be thrown in jail anyways. At least make it difficult for him to just run his mouth as he pleases. Give him a couple of days for violating the gag order. If he does it again, increase it by a few more days and keep increasing it every time he violates the gag order.

The judge has to function within the parameters of court rules. The max jail time he can assign is 30 days total.

Not only does everyone see the special treatment of his not being Jailed, they also get to see a national disgrace of an ex-president still being given secret service protection, even after being charged with crimes that may well have jeopardized this Country's security (ie: National Security Documents)!

"Biden's trial" is the new "Hillary's emails." He'll say it as often as possible.
It’s not about gagging Biden, it’s being played as Trump being allowed to respond because he’s a candidate against Biden.
In effect, though, Biden is then gagged from talking about the trial in a negative way or even a factual way, because Merchan is parsing out political speech from speech that is prohibited.
For example, if Biden joked about Trump sleeping, Trump might respond that the judge is torturing him, building resentment in Trump’s crazy supporters.
That WOULD be in response to a political rival making a comment, but ALSO violating the gag order. Thus, Biden-being the adult between the two-is likely not taking best advantage of opportunities to use his protected speech to go after Trump.
Of course, Trump could try just staying awake, but court is just so boring for toddlers.
