why does everybody think Cohen is lying? I am no Cohen fan, but I don't get that impression at all. I believe the jury knows that, but the defense seems to keep hammering that narrative, and those Republicans coming to NYC to support Chump and what they said, outside the court, is reprehensible. From the defense questioning, anyone who didn’t know would be sure Daniels and Cohen are the Defendants
If Cohen did hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of legal work during the relevant time period, it should be simplicity itself to produce all of the paperwork that would necessarily flow from that many billable hours. Not so much "show me the money" as "show me the paperwork", the letters, the contracts, the negotiations, no half-way competent business would pony up that much money for legal services that resulted in not one scrap of legitimate legal work.
Lawyers don't show off their work they do for clients. It is confidential and there is a legal evidentiary privilege from producing it in court. Be glad. One day you might need a lawyer. Do you want your correspondence, contracts, etc. to be shown in court?
@@whyohwhy9679 We're not talking about prosecutors piercing attorney-client privilege, nor would it be necessary for documents to be unredacted. If I were in Trump's position, and was innocent, you bet I would be willing to produce redacted paperwork. The fundamental point at issue, is whether Cohen was paid 12 x $35k as reimbursement for hush money, or whether the payments were for actual legal services. At the highest hourly rate I could find for US lawyers, say $1200/h, that is at least 350 hours of work, and all the defence needs to do is create reasonable doubt, there is no need to reveal confidential information in this context, the metadata would be sufficient. Timesheets, logged calls, emails, travel expense reports, there should be more than enough to create reasonable doubt.
Cohen has a personality that grows on u, the defense is taking too long to make their point and the jury is getting to know Cohen too well. a 3rd day after 3 days off of processing will hurt defense

You don't even need Cohen...the evidence is so overwhelming it is crazy...this case should be a slam dunk. The paper and documents tell the story. That is why Blanche was so flustered and frustrated and voice breaking. He made a big mistake with his career here. Disgrace! It doesn't matter if Cohen blames people in his life...or that he lies...those things do not negate the overwhelming evidence, the timeline, the documents, the checks and most importantly the other witnesses, especially Pecker. As someone who isn't trained in law, I understand it as Trump having falsified his business records in effort to cover up what he did to prevent Stormy Daniels and others from publicizing unflattering stories about him during his 2016 campaign. The actual indictments are available online.
The press confuses everything by calling it "a hush money" case. It isn't. Paying someone to keep quiet is immoral but not illegal. Calling the payments "legal expenses" is illegal. The case is all about proving that Trump knew what he was doing when trying to fool the voting public after the Access Hollywood tape came out. Being an ahole and having a big stupid mouth is one thing, being a crook and a sexual deviant is another. Trump's method of hiding his true nature was illegal.
No silver bullet, no garlic, no stake. Just a cross, examination that is. Simply a stake in real estate.

I appreciate your honesty and truthfulness. I do wish they had camera's in the court room, I know New York doesn't allow this and the jury would be put in an awkward position.
As a previous COMANDER IN CHIEF + a, post November, aspiring return to that position, why can he not be COURT MARSHALED for an incalculable number of offenses occurring while in command of a military position. COURT MARSHALL TRIALS involve far less deliberate obfuscation than State + Federal equivalents + the ultimate judgment is made by 3 senior officers who are protected by the entire might of the Military.
