Harry, I have been so stressed over all this. When Trump was calling for riots all over the country if he were indicted, I was terrified. I almost walked right into a mass shooting at the King County Courthouse in Seattle years ago, and threats of violence bring that fear back. Your calm explanations of what's happening have done me more good than you can imagine. You make me feel that there are people who have this under control, that I don't need to panic. I have often told musicians, "I believe that when you love the art, you love the artist as well. I love you." Being a lawyer is not considered an art. However, I love what you do, and I love you for doing it.

I once saw a guy being brought to the courtroom who was pretty obviously wearing an Oregon Boot. That is evidently very rare these days--it was decided that it was too painful. Sure worked, and it was completely hidden beneath the guy's trousers leg.

Here is what I've been saying for months, and even about someone like Trump coming to power as far back as 2011 as it related to a Lecture Series I did on Deitrich Bonhoeffer... So these have been my comments most recently, capturing some of my long-ago comments as well...
Once indictment and successful prosecution take place, I have to hope that we will be better than Germany was during Hitler's time. I pray there are more conservatives who have read and are aware of the history, who ultimately understand if they allow Trump back in office we will be the 4th Reich, and who will come to our rescue?!... This is what I've said over and over again...about what is next, and how important this moment is in our nation.
We need more conservatives like Liz. I know she and I would disagree on a number of issues, but on this issue and in a general way such a conservative is who we need in charge of the grand old party...

For those many in the GOP who still are on the Trump bandwagon, the end does not justify the means...
(the best for democracy is the ends and the means) the more familiar "end justifies the means" is simplistic and short-sighted. MAGA Trumpians apparently think the likes of Steve Bannon who are anarchists will bring them back into power and security. Well, Neitzche's sister thought the same thing and edited his materials well used by Hitler... We need to read CS Lewis Dymer, and just remember the history, to see how that worked out for them. Here is my take on another earlier comment...on another current revelation re. some of this. a little bit of philosophy -- nominalism... Again ask Hitler how that worked out for him, ask Alex Jones what he thinks of Nietzsche, and again has anyone read CS Lewis's narrative poem Dymer... Kafka the Trial or in German Der Prozeß or Metamorphasis. This is where we are going, if not already there, not a good place and even those who think they want this kind of new power, it's not so new, and in the end, it's not all that it's cracked up to be... Here is my take on all this trumpery (see definition at the end)
those who blindly follow I would say deserve what they get...where did the conservatives with a backbone go... there are very few who still have anything like a real conservative agenda, just follow the leader, or as Bonhoeffer suggested of Hitler, the "Misleader." I'm glad for today's revelations, ... And I do pray he will come to trial. I do hope he will be prosecuted to the full extent for the crimes committed, but ... and this is a big but, I still stand by what I've said earlier again and again...Even if Trump is put in Jail and serves time, economic and other issues as in Germany at the time of Hitler (runaway inflation, the inability of either side to govern, etc., and so so much more in parallel at present [it only took ten years there])... REMEMBER THIS:
Hitler was thrown in Jail after his failed Beer Hall Putsch, then in Jail wrote "Mein Kampf," followed by being "democratically" elected. The rest is history, we've been there and done that. The following quote from Metaxas:

For the following, I can only say boy has conservatism changed since the early days.

Thank you for posting this important history. I would just add the caveat that when Hitler went to prison, he was 34 years old. Trump is 77. Nevertheless, your point is well taken as Trump has spawned or brought out of the woodwork many wannabes, and there are those who would perpetuate his agenda.
