    One critical thing they left out of the Editors for the Jupiter X and Juno X is the ability to modify or work on the Step Editor/Edits and dive into all the other menu items. This would have made these synths simply amazing and easy to use rather than fiddly with a MICRO screen. Hardware companies always holdback on what users really need.

    I have an "ultimate" Roland Cloud account the only thing I miss now is the hardware ;o)
    This editor is starting to motivate me to buy a Jupiter X / Xm... finally

    This is so good it's really got me excited about getting the XM! I think this is a game changer for sound editing.

    I agree about the MC-707... an editor would be great!

    Hi, you should also give a try to the new 1.50 firmware update.
    Big improvement in my opinion...finally a serious sequencer with both step and real time recording capability.

    This editor will be perfect if Roland updates it to use the interface from Zenology Pro for the Zen Core patches. It's still a bit confusing to use for ZC at the moment.

    Hi, before mc-707 , they must make iPadOs version of this Editor. The world is changing , especially after m1 chip iPad released, iPad is the new generation laptop. So who can use on stage jupiter x & MacBook Pro? 😅. But with iPad, touchscreen can bring easy of use to this editor.

    The editor is great actually. I remember having issues saving scenes and parts previously. Now you can back up onto your computer and in the xm simultaneously it seems. The next thing Roland ought to do is make the editor part of a DAW that can allow for automation.

      The Jupiter X/XM can react to MIDI messages … so no need to use the editor.

    it's good to save tones you like to a user tone right away cause you'll never find it again. it needs a search function unless I missed it.

    Hi, Thanks for this great video. Not sure if you are still reading comments, but is your computer a Mac or Windows PC?
    Cheers.

    How come all the initialized user tones are under the jupiter 8 engine? The init tones have that top banner that says jupiter 8. Can one start with an initilized tone under other engines, like the juno, xv, or sh 101 for example?

    On the Jupiter X, USB has to be switched from GENERIC to VENDOR and then a restart performed, I discovered.

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  2 года назад +1

      Yes, the generic mode is to become USB compliant. No need for a driver, but you don’t have access to all the USB features of the synth.

    Hi Thanks for this info. Does it give you JP80 sound patches also?

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  3 года назад

      It’s the editor. The Jupiter-8 sounds comes with the model expansion or with parch banks found in the Roland Cloud.

    For me, Roland Cloud is buggy and requires internet and restarts. Can you run the editor standalone?

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  3 года назад +2

      It is a stand alone app. You need the Roland cloud only to have access to the installer.

    What would happen if I plugged this into an MC101?

    • @Nu-trix
      @Nu-trix  3 года назад

      I don’t expect it to work. I’m guessing it is using MIDI system exclusive that is “exclusive “ to the Jupiter x/xm . But it shows that they can create the same type of editor for the MC-101 and 707. I’m just guessing that it is for the not so far future.

  • @embededfabrication4482

  • @Gruntos

    Sorry but I have to disagree, the editor is buggy. I much prefer the editor that comes with professional version of Roland cloud however this means I need to boot Protools and launch it as a midi instrument . Editing Zen core tones are so much easier as you have a full graphical interface not just sliders.
    I have found the mute does not work correctly. One part is off for mute and another on for mute.
    I’ve had it crash a few times whilst editing patches.
    If you press a button on the X it’s not picked up by the editor unless you reload it.
    It would be good if I-arp step was replicated, especially as v1.5 is now out.
    I’m sure it will get better but it’s not perfect
