Chinese Diesel Heater Controller Instructions

- This is a quick setup guide for a Chinese Diesel Heater Controller (New type). I had the old type, and it turns out you can just unplug the old style (the one with the on / off and spin dial) and just plug in the new type. It is the same plug. Anyway, this guide will show you how to turn the heater on and off, how to prime the diesel heater, setup the time, change from hertz to degrees celcius mode etc. It's just a quick guide, please let me know if you would like one with more detail.
Thanks for that BUT I switch mine off ( it's wired into the main control panel) every time as you shouldn't have the display permanently illuminated. It causes the lights to dim over time. Im going to try cutting into the red wire and through an illuminated on/off switch so I can control it that way
The instructions that come with the heater are vague at best.
Cheers
A little more information on setting the timer would have been ok
Hi there mate..the long press to turn off does that then activate the shut down mode cooling off sequence the heater runs through ? Or it is just off instantly?.. Cheers
The heater always has to run cool before it shuts down, as a safety thing. It'll never 'instant' shut off unless it loses power.
@@Unfastened Cool thanks mate, i just couldn't find exact information on the shut down, i didn't want to fry the board..I'll give it a go when it arrives next wk..cheers👌
How do i get to setup mode without switching it on
So Simple - I'm sure there was nothing like that in the destructions! LOL thanks
Thanks, super useful. The manual I got was useless.
Hertz will affect temperature settings and YES you will need to set your Hz settings to a workable number and any thing below 2.3Hz will if you don't have enough revs will get E.008 code and depending on which Kw power your diesel heater is will determine the Hz setting so say you have a 5Kw heater which is closer to3.5 kw maybe 4Kw I set the lowest Hz at 2.3-2.4Hz and for some reason the highest setting works best for my heater at 3.6-3.8Hz and I've tried it at a higher setting of 4.8 and 5Kw but for fuel consumption I decided the optimum was as I said previously as this gives a positive burn and will run the heater pretty much all day and night with a no smoke on start up. A larger fuel tank would save going out in the cold to top up fuel . Each diesel heater has it's particular settings from factory .A lot but not all sellers online are selling generic mass produced diesel heaters no name brands from several different manufacturers the difference being in the ECU system and the remote features setup. The manual That came with my 5Kwatsit is a pack of gibberish abuse of the written English language/Chinglish so I went online sourcing easier to understand instructions and information. Cheers Mate
hi , great vid , just wondering have u ever heard of the controller settings access fail , ? i cannot get into the settings to adjust fuel/hrz rpm etc , maybe this is a cheap generic controller (comes with heater) that hasn't got that feature > thanks ( mine has a cog symbol not wrench) cheers
How did you get into setup mode.
I can only adjust some settings after i press the on button to make it run
Do you have a settings button in the top left hand corner, like the one in the video?
@@Unfastened yes I do
Very helpful video, so firstly thank you. I think my timer must be set, but didn't set it. I have only just installed the unit it's like yours in the video but I've had it for nearly 3 years. I never set the timer but I walked out to the van this morning and it was going but it wasn't warm, how do I turn it off the timer please mate, and why would it not be hot, does it need to be primed before start every time? Thank you
how do you select Alpine mode? I know it can be done with this controller have forgotten the procedure.
Many thanks for posting. You gave me the information I was looking for
You're welcome
@@Unfastenedhi just wondering...do they turn off and restart once they have reached the set temp....like a normal thermostat on a heater?
Nice...BUT WILL SOMEONE PLEASE SHOW A *6* BUTTON CONTROL PANEL THE ONE WITH A FUIEL PUMP ON THE LEFT HAND SIDE MIDDLE BUTTON..PLEASE I CANT START MY HEATER AS IT CAME WITH NO INSTRUCTIONS 😢
@philipscarisbrick1585 Hi Phillip, did you happen to find out this info as I have the same one
Excellent! Thanks so much for posting.
Thank you
Mine keeps going into low voltage. It’s plugged into 12v. Any ideas how to fix this?
Grab a multimeter and unplug the control box. See how many volts you are getting to the heater. If its low, you might have a voltage drop between the battery and the heater. Or if the voltage at the box is below 12.4(ish) then your battery might need a charge. If the heater is running it down and you get low voltage after a while, you might need to run dual batteries instead of a single 12v battery. good luck
@@Unfastened thanks. Worked out that the heater couldn’t draw enough amps through the cigarette plug. Hooked it up to an Anderson plug instead and works fine now
Can you change from Celsius to Fahrenheit on this controller?
I've tried finding that, but I don't know either. It's not the same as some of the other models.
I really doubt it. Hardly anyone in the world uses Fahrenheit...
@@John_Ridley331M Americans do.
@@martysk8r I am American. I use Farenheit. My statement still stands. America is < 5% of the world population, so it's still "hardly anyone"
Press settings and ok button together
