Thank you so much for walking us through the accelerated program, in the breakdown of the cost. We have something like this out in the north east Philadelphia area, and I’ve never understood exactly how it works. By the way, I found your channel on the aviation, content creators page. Keep doing what you’re doing! Fly well! New Sub!
When you did your private did you do it in a 172? And when you moved onto study for light sport did you move onto a different aircraft, a light sport one?
Im 17 years old and im doing this route. Im also in florida, and the school im at is Sebring flight academy, which school did you do this at because i would like to know if they fly more or something along those lines
Can a person work without a private pilot license as a flight instructor with a light sport cfi? Or do people or companies want a private pilot license? Is it still possible to go this route?
Appreciate for the information sharing, I wondering if this only fits only for native Americans, those international students who can only can go 141 training still need to spend almost 80k from zero to MEI at FL.😢
Hi again, question, sorry if I missed it in your explanation but I need clarification; When you got your certifications for PPL, CFI, Instrument, commercial, which ones were in light sport aircraft and were these ratings all type rated for only light sport aircraft or do you get the standard rating even when flying in a light sport? Not sure how this works if you could explain and how it worked out for you
Type ratings are only for jets or aircraft over 12,500 lbs. I did my training for my other ratings in normal/utility category aircraft. You can do some of the training and Checkrides in LSA but it gets complicated
Great video about an alternative route. Wish I had known about it when I was getting my ratings. Curious, do you find most DPEs are open to Sport checkrides or do you have to find specific ones?
Just found out that light sport CFI is my only option. If I applied for a 3rd class right now I'd be deferred for as much as 2 years. (I got a high VA rating).
You can’t do light sport until the deferral is cleared up unfortunately. You can only do light sport with no medical if you have never been deferred or denied a medical and you also know you don’t have any health conditions that would cause you to be denied or deferred. It sounds like you’ll have to go through the medical process fully and then you could do full ppl once you’re approved
@pilotkaity yeah, I know that. My current one expires soon. I'm just letting it lapse. It hasn' been deferred at this point. I was told it *likely* would be, and I'm not sure if I'm ready to risk it.
Hi Kaity, thanks for the great info. My situation, haven’t flown in a long time CSEL-I I’m an older guy at 57 and I’ve taken an early retirement from my career in aviation insurance. I want to get current and finally get my CFI and CFII. I’ll most likely do this at American Flyers here in Dallas. After that? Not sure. I’d love to have some kind of career as a pro pilot before actually retiring. Is this even doable these days, airline or corporate? As an aviation insurance underwriter I’m intimately familiar with pilots being approved etc etc. that’s what I do on the daily. I will have a lot of contacts etc. Just looking for some guidance and inspiration as doing this at this point in my life is a bit daunting.
Hello Ms Katy I’m a 16 year old prospective student pilot at KMNE in minden Louisiana I’m presuing my private right now and I’m interested on getting into my sport next my instructor just says it’s a license with a lot of restrictions
My name is Andrew and I operate a Part 61 program in Phoenix, AZ. I am always looking at ways to better serve my students and make an aviation career attainable to as many as possible. Is there any way I can pick your brain more about how to provide a more cost effective training option to my students. I did buy your Light Sport CFI Guide! But still have a few questions.
Hi Andrew! I don’t have the availability in my schedule to sit down with people individually for questions unfortunately. The guide is intended to help get the questions answered at a larger scale. If you want to add your questions here or message me through instagram I’ll do my best to include them in the guide and send you the responses
@@pilotkaity I appreciate your feedback. I will review your guide and see if I can incorporate items to pass savings onto my students. Thank you again!
Smart to put an ebook together. I love when people think outside the box to get what they want. nice!
Thank you!
What a cool idea! I would not have thought of it. Very smart plan!
👍🏼👏
Good for you, this is the smartest approach I have ever herd
It was definitely a good route for me!

Yes to both

There are 3 in the Orlando are that do light sports. Google will give you a pretty good list
0:47 150 hours cfi
Private license then hired
Exchange labor for flight time
2:48 instrument rating 15 hours with instructor
Yep!

@@NB-qy7ku yes you can start with a sport license, become a light sport CFI and then work as a light sport CFI

I only really give advice toward us flight training
How much can you expect to earn as a sport pilot CFI? I guess per hour? What are the pay expectations?
Pretty much the same as CFI
How many hours are you at right now and how are you accumulating your hours ? Thank you for your time!
I have about 3400 hours and I work as a pilot
Amazing content! I’m in Florida (Great Tampa Bay Area) and I’m not finding any options around here. Do you know of any? Which school did you train at?
There are a lot in Florida! Google light sport flight training

I was thinking about doing the glider rating and use it to time build, Plus Airplane single engine sea
I have heard the glider route is a great way to go

I went to a light sport DPE for my checkride

I don’t see why you couldn’t do it. If airlines are you goal that might be challenging due to retirement age but lots of flying outside of that
So did you pay as you went or did you qualify for a loan at all?
Paid as I went

How much did CFI insurance cost for your CFIS? Did it change as you accrued more hours?
To be honest I didn’t have any back then
Hi I live in the Orlando area and I was wondering what the names of the 3 schools in Orlando are and which one did you go to?
Right rudder, first landings, flight ready
Hey what was the time line how long did it take you start to finish
I was working within a year of getting my ppl and then I had my full CFI about 3 months later
Hey , where in Florida is the light sport school ?thanks
Orlando area. There are at least 3 in that area that do light sport
What is CFI?😁
