I just came to quickly scan and see if the PMDG 777 had as many features as QualityWings 757 and 787 I already have...not only it is the most complete, but also ended up watching the entire 1+ hour tutorial and just realized the mountain I need to climb once I buy it...definitely convinced me of getting it! Also, I absolutely LOVE the rumble of the GE-90s when they're being turned on, my favorite planes to operate in. Great video!
Happy to see you back my friend. Great video ( as usual) I have the same issue with the PMDG's 777. To minimize the the impact I turn the traffic (planes, cars, boats to zero) and find the happy medium for buildings/trees. Again, I happy that you're back :)
Hello Captain. It's great to see you back again producing very entertaining videos. I didn't hear you cough at all, but you were a bit high on the approach! Good times!!!
You are right about that the FMS wouldn't work in the beginning - but PMDG made that deliberately so you don't have to use the menus in FSX, so the immersion doesn't get broken by that. I personally love that, FSX menus are obnoxious.
And keep in mind, the flight control surfaces are huge and hydraulically powered, they have a small delay on every aircraft - I find them actually quite responsive. And especially the rudder you want to go easy and smooth, as you only normally need small deflections in flight (not talking about crosswind landings of course). If you want to experience sluggish flight controls, try an A346. I flew it in a research simulator (without motion) for my Bachelor's thesis, but very accurately programmed according to an actual pilot. It is an effin nightmare.
How do you spawn the 777 with a panel state besides the after start state? I know there are various panel modes but the PMDG 737 NGX allows you to pick a panel state that the airplane will spawn with and the PMDG 777 allows you to pick various states (Cold and Dark, after start, before start) but that after that's only once the airplane is already in the after start configuration. I was wondering if the PMDG 777 has a similar function? Nice flight!
Mac, your clipping mate. Drop the gain a bit should sort it out for you. I was really in the mood for watching this, but I the clipping makes it really hard to listen to. :(
I’m still watching the video, and am at the end of the “elevator music”. Only thing I have seen wrong so far is the APU door open during the climb out. Great video so far. As far as your rambling on, keep it up. It’s really good reinforcement of what you are doing and very helpful. As I said before, fantastic work and welcome back!
Thanks...I'm glad you enjoyed it. Here is a good 777 checklist. Its not the same one I use because the website I got it from wants you to pay for it now, but its almost identical. www.aviationlads.com/download/boeing-777-series-checklist/
Excellent video Captain, liked and subscribed. I already own the PMDG 737 800/900 (the best investment of £50.00 I've ever spent). Your video has now made up mind. My next purchase is most definitely the PMDG triple 7.
oh man, i loved this tutorial, everything is simplified. but one problem. i really had issues at the last part of the flight. i was really confused because my flight plan wasn’t same as your’s. if you could give us a download link for the flight plan, that would be awesome. this is my literal first flight with this plane and i relied on heavy assistence
@Captain_Mac, what did you use to replay your landings and such? I have not found any good replay software that works with FSX:SE and also captures the landing gear and flaps at the time of landing for PMDG 737NGX. Thanks!
Why don’t you change the RESERVES value during FMC setup on the PERF INIT page from 16.0 to the value that the flight plan is giving you which is 9.0. That value should be your dispatch Final Reserve Fuel (6.7) + fuel required to go to your alternate (2.3).

No I really don't. I use Chaseplane, and have had almost no issues at all. Occasionally, when I am low on memory, I will have some issues, but that is just because of the VAS.
john donovan it's a combination of both. Because this aircraft uses so much memory, and apparently this scenery does as well, my system is struggling to load the scenery.
ive had it happen with the default Cessna. if you are not on an SSD then your drive is probably badly arranged (not even necessarily fragmented). that will cause it 100%.
The plane itself runs on my laptop sometimes at 30 FPS, but only enroute, lol. On the ground it's more like .. 15, but it is flyable (no stutters as such).
Steven Jarman it is an editing trick. I record the briefings separately and then overlay the videos of the briefs on the main video...the G1000 is a picture with the screen removed that I place around and in front of the briefing video.
Does the 777 have a course selection imput like the 737 has? you also didnt show how to tune the nav radios.... soooo? Now I have no idea how to do ILS landing
I haven't flown anything in about a year, but if memory serves, when you select your ILS approach in the FMC on the PMDG 777 the frequency is automatically tuned to the nav radio when you reach the start of the approach.
Hey mate, I have a problem with my chase plane, when I drive a heavy aircraft (like pmdg 777) and take a right or a left turn, My camera moves out of my captain seat. It isn't stable like yours at 42:07 .Could you please help me?
It's in the settings. I don't remember which setting adjusts the amount of movement, but play around with them a bit and you'll find the sweet spot. I left mine pretty much at default.
I had it with my ezdok too. So should I adjust it in the Chase plane's settings or the pmdg 777 cfg? Could you pls take a screenshot of your settings and sent the link to me in imgur. Thanks for your help.

WIND DATA ensures your FMC has the right information for the route in relation to the wind and fuel required at cruise level . If you don't use it, you could have significant discrepancies in fuel required for a trip while enroute ( "Insufficient Fuel" warning) Those discrepancies are more noticeable over long haul trips or any trip that has significant winds to deal with that could influence fuel burn e.g Flying across the pond to North America from Europe. That flight is actually against the jetstream, meaning you will be flying with headwinds over 40kts (and even as high as 150kts ) When your FMC doesn't have wind data, your fuel required, could actually be more than what you have onboard. Those strong headwinds account for most of the fuel burn ( flying against the wind requires more fuel burn and flying with a tail wind requires less fuel burn ). The stronger the headwind the more fuel burn ( or fuel required ) During preflight, using The WIND DATA UPLINK gives your FMC more accurate fuel consumption values for the trip and you can make a well informed decision on how much fuel you want to get onboard based on what is required for that particular trip with the winds already taken into account by the FMC

It is not meant for use during regular operations and most, if not all airline policies will instruct their pilots to turn off autopilot by a certain altitude unless the visibility makes autoland necessary.
