Welcome to TwinStick Garage! In this video, we're taking on an exciting new project inspired by the iconic Smokey and the Bandit movie that I reveal at the end of the episode

Well designed lift and anyone who has used a lift can see, lots of thought went into it, especially it being portable. Very handy addition to the shop.

Mark, I see many people doing Bandit tribute trucks, but none seem to be done in the true spirit of the movie like you are doing....from the even stacks, to the daytons on the trailer. If you're going to go through all that effort, might as well do it right. Keep up the great work.

That's really a cool lift! A minty trick for driving on to the lift by yourself is to place a door mirror sideways about halfway up on the front of the lift so you can see the front wheels as you drive up.

I’m glad you got the 76-77 front (even if it’s only the front). Most people prefer the next version with the headlights split but I’ve always preferred the look of the one you have.
Oh yeah, the 77-78 front is the only way to go and I prefer the ‘80 t-tops as the openings line up with the door openings instead of the early Hurst cutouts that are 4” too short

The trans am is definitely a nice touch very unexpected surprise. Don’t forget on the front of you refer unit that there was a golden out line around it and I do believe the same with the doors. It looks about a inch wide. Love the content keep on working hard definitely learning new things as I watch

That lift looks big enough that you could park the extended section of the iron duke under it. Really save shop space.
That is a really nice lift, great addition to the shop. Need to get another lift to pick up semi's for oil changes and etc. What a nice shop you have! Take care , 10-4 over and out

The first car my brother bought was the 1980 Firebird Trans Am. He got it after we went to watch Smokey and the bandit two at the drive-in unfortunately about 12 years ago the car was destroyed during our April 27. Tornadoes brought a big tree down that crushed it.
I love this content what a great way to save the best suprise for last as soon as I seen the snow flack rims in the one video I knew where you were going with this content I love theses Transams I have a rusty one that I couldn’t rebuild because of the rust so it became my stock car it won me a lot of races , I saved all the interior once again I thank you for letting us watch I enjoy it alot the journey you took us on

Your gantry crane along with the new lift will both be greatly enhance each other for the work you will be doing to the Firebird.
VGG has had the lift at his old location in MN to where he is now.
If fact he has three of them.
One he uses daily, the other is a double wide version and the third is a mix of storage and working project one
And they also build a two tier stack version so you can store 3 cars in one area
I will probably be seeing this company at back To The Fifties 2023 during the weekend at the MN State Fair Grounds

Mornin Mark, I really like those lifts, I have seen a few of them on a few different you tube channels and they do look like a really strong lift. I guessed the Trans am last episode when I saw the snow flake wheels, I seen lots of those back in the late 70s and early 80s, never owned a set myself though. Every time I watch a new video it reminds me how happy I am when I found your channel a long time ago, You make us old guys happy with your projects, Thanks Twin stix. you should reexplore tacking a few feet onto the front of the house garage so you can park Snowman inside while shop bay is being used
Hi Mark, again, a Thursday morning well spent. You are blessed sir, good wtfe, good life, doesn't get much better than that does it. BTW, a carport roof off the front of your shop, would allow you to keep the Snowman under a roof, and out of the weather elements. Take care, Rick.

Cool lift and nice Trans Am project. Forget pinching off the rear brake line and get a line lock for the front brakes. It's an electric valve that holds pressure in the front brake lines. Step on the brakes ,push a button and release the pedal. Mash the gas, smoke up the rear tires and when ready to go, release the button.

From working outside in below freezing temperatures in the snow with a fire bin next to you to a 3 bay heated garage with a gantry crane, vehicle lift, 3 trucks, a trailer and a car. Id say im jealous but you deserve it for the back breaking work you put in in those early days outside. Must admit though. i do miss watching you work outside in those crazy conditions.
if you plan to put round headlights in it. you have to swap the front fenders with the rad support. and the hood to be correct. that 77 hood will work but the lines are slightly different

Buy a lion lock valve that they used to put in toe trucks and put it on your front. Brakes so when you wanna do burn out? You just push your brake pedal down switch the switch then you front breaks a lot
Add glass pack bottles to add some rumble to the car!

This style of lift is great because it can be rotated 90deg and to the rear of the typical truck bay so the car can be safely stored elevated on it. Then the truck rear tandems can still fit underneath. Nice!!

Wow Mark nice lift, love the Trans Am , I read the original movie Cars I believe all three cars were 1976 with 1977 front nose clips . I also heard that they also destroyed the movie Cars after the release of the movie. Looking forward to your next video. Be safe
That’s correct … Pontiac gave four cars to Hal for the movie - all but one were ‘76’s with ‘77 front clips as the movie was filmed in ‘76 but Pontiac wanted to have them look like the cars that were gonna be in the showroom when it was released in ‘77. They absolutely destroyed the three that were used in filming and the forth an actual ‘77 was used as a promotional car that summer but was not in the film. Burt owned the car and it was sold at Barrett-Jackson auction after he passed for $450k

Put a generator in that shell, giant screen rear projection in the back of the trailer. Now you can show the movie when ever you park.
