Welcome back to the channel where I’m continuing with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck and trailer to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? “For the money, for the glory and for the fun … mostly for the money”
Well here it is folks, this is the episode where I finally turn this old Trailmobile van trailer into a legit replica of the Hobbs from the movie. Tony from Beyond Vinyl Wraps came out to put this beautiful Stagecoach wrap onto the trailer and it turned out absolutely amazing! Special thanks to him for hand pressing the wrap on this 43’ trailer over all those ribs and bumps and to Creative Color for supplying the wrap and finally to www.snowmanstr... for providing the artwork!
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts
Enjoy watching the progress of this Kenworth W900A project, the ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

Awsome job mark looking good thumbs up and shared
Hey mark back in may of 1977 we went to see the movie and never left the theater that day sat through 4 showings !!!
The talent it takes to wrap a surface like that is insane
Agreed 👍
Incredible work on the wrap. Feller did some work
Hard to believe it's been 2 years since this crazy guy popped up on my feed freezing his rear off in a Canadian winter working on an old KW with the goal of creating the Snowman rig..
Congrats on the project nearing completion
Thank you for the video Mark. The trailer start to look good. Wish you all the best.
The installation of something this gigantic over corrugation is a mind-numbingly difficult and tedious process and none of it can be rushed. This dude showed enormous patience, he even made it look easy. You were blessed to find him. I've always been curious about the original painting(s), I always figured it was a working trailer that they borrowed for the film but it sounds like it was painted specifically for the movie. Back then the vinyl technology wasn't what it is now, so it was hand-painted. Amazing. I actually think with a blank trailer the movie wouldn't have been successful. (my apologies if you've covered all this already, I'm new here LOL)
those placards are mint....nice touch
I cannot believe it worked you got it and yes your twin stick logo works
It is another Thursday!... Wow just wow
Hey Mark, please re check your SWR away from the shop and all the trees!!! I'd hate for you to burn up that radio!!! Also, tuning dual antennas can be a royal pain, a lot of people just run a single coax and just have the second antenna as a dummy for the looks. Besides that, absolutely awesome man and keep it up!!!!!!
Love the article in Ontario antique trucks magazine mark you and snowman looking Large
Great job on the wrap
Awesome job. Looks great. Coming along nicely.
Leave the chrome reefer grille. Looks cool as it is.
You may need to visit a cemetery to talk to the last mechanic who worked on the brake chambers.
Twinsticks, that old Thermoking reefer looks just fine as you restored it. The Stainless grille stands out Excellent. Maybe consider vinyl letters ( matching the black on the trailer) to highlite "Thermoking" on the reefer grille. Thanks for real life shop videos.
The placards look great!!
Looks great Mark, good vedio, our going to get this done ,great job!!
Looks great ! And feathers I see feathers ! 🤔🤣
Outstanding Tony!!!
Thank you for getting the one with the cactus
Excellent Video, Thank You for Sharing !! H.
Mark.. excellent work as a driver who drove trucks like the ones you have right up to the modern trucks of today. I can say you have restored a piece of history Americana if you will. I was around in the days when here in the states you could not get COOR'S east of Colorado. Someone would have to smuggle it back. When I ran coast to coast I would stop and fill my sleeper up with cases then sleep across the front seats made a platform out of plywood so my I could scrunch up between the doors to sleep at nite...Its so Kool what you have done with that old W900 I owned a 359 twin-stick Pete like you have best truck in its class. Great content best regards..DJ
Ahh yes. 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Wow that is amazing!
Holy cow,Tony must live under a rock! Never seen the movie? Poor guy 😢.
Tony Likes his Work and quite good at it
That looks awesome.
Just wow going to Brad's Southern Class8c this weekend with my 14 year old and he is so in love with what your doing g
Amazing job
'Egotistical son of a.....' 😉 that looks fantastic Mark, what a proud moment to see it finally coming together. Greetings from the UK 🇬🇧
As a fellow UK subscriber - 12:00 every Thursday’s a great time of the week 😃
Looks good excellent job
Just AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!
You know that wrap would look really nice on the shop wall..
I gotta be honest I never saw the movie but it's gonna be cool driving down the road with that truck
The reefer chrome is the way to go! Leave it Mark.
Love The Smokey and the Bandit Truck Keep Up the good work Billy Lizza Uniontown pa USA
The Bandit Run is - Dave Hall of RestoreAMuscleCar.
Snowman’s Run is Tyler Hambrick.
Two different runs but both are a blast.
You must be going to a minsters funeral dressed in feathers!
I'd leave it chrome!! It makes the unit stand out otherwise it just blends in.
Smokey and the bandit is amazing
looking good Mark. I am sure Tony won't feel his fingers for a few days after he is done with this.
Leave the chrome on the reefer.. would be a cool spot for a generator to power the trailer
That is looking sweet!!
This is just getting more and more awesome, well done Mark, what an absolute pleasure to be on this journey with you each week. One of my all time favourite movies as a kid with my dad, rest his soul growing up, hey from Ireland 😊👋🇮🇪
Hey from Long Island NY
Very nice mark👍👍👍
Hats off to Tony for the wrap. Must have taken days to finish and seal. I'm in the same industry and my clients won't pay for the hours and I will not guarantee lifetime on corrugated sides. Looks great.
what a monster of a job.
Can’t wait to see the TransAm build!!👍🇨🇱
Everywhere you go, everywhere you park it, I hope you are ready for it!!!
Wow Mark. So happy for you
Looks good!!!
Sick looking rig at the lesco show Mark🤟🤟🤟🤟🇨🇦
Looking good I love it
Ah can’t even get s screen protector on mah phone without air bubbles 😂😂😂 Fair play to the fella. 💪
Nice job on the trailer looking great
Looking gooood 😎👍.
Anybody that would decorate their truck like this would go to a ministers funeral dressed in feathers! Lol love it!!
Awesome 😍😍👌👌
WOW...well worth the wait
Good stuff
I turn seventy four in october the twenty ninth and so lived these times but sorta late as I was working on the islands in alaska. Pulling wrenches or driving, became my entire life goals and so really can appreciate this dedication. My wrong possibly taken comment is to the fact that paint stuck to the metal or anything thats hard to get off is in my way of thinking, never going to rust or corrode in any manor so taking it to bare metal to just paint it is crazy ... Once as smooth as a baby bottom, its the best protection available. I know that you might come back with two or more dissimilar things would make it unsafe to trust long term. I believe in my heart that there are primers that will stick to anything and well. Its really hard now to find all the colors and then the paints they come in that stick and don't give up. I was curious as to you reaching out to your fellow famous canadian friend Scott at "Coldwar Motors" who has made a lot of waves in great paint.... as famous as say Chip Foose or Tony Lang who do paint that resemble a paint that makes you think you can stick your arm down into the paint as its just that good. At least with Scott and his crazy crew, Coors beer is a great way to pay for his talents. Just stuff to confuse or make one think of different possibilities
Now you just need to run over to Texarkana and pick up 400 cases of coors and bring them back here in 28 hours. That is just about the sharpest looking bandit replica that I have seen and son I've seen the best of them and yours makes the rest look like they were done with A box of crayons.
Good evening from Australia 🇦🇺. Yes finally its happening...so excited. Thursday night is the best night here on RUclips in Australia 🇦🇺. Nice work. Love it.
Have you ever thought about doing a tribute movie correct truck to Convoy ?
Agreed Mate! Hoping the Tribute Truck thats from Victoria comes up to Sydney this weekend
Hello from across the pond in Nz
Absolutely love it I live in the uk and drive a dust cart and look forward to watching your videos every Thursday on my break at mid day ❤
Hey mark. I like the custom placards
Check the SWR outside the garage. The more mismatched the antenna length is to the frequency, the higher the reflected power is...the reflected power causes your radio's transmit power transistors to get hot and die. In your meter you said 'reference' but it is normally known as forward and reflected power.
You going to need a drop shed over your trailer parking spot. Good work.
Love the placard idea, looks great!!
It does, but it would look better if you had done it with a black background and gold logo. I know that’s not your typical logo, but it would look really good.
A most excellent job, on both the cb, and the brakes from your good self, and finally the wrap, darn hes good,.
😆From a distance the sun protector looks like two mannequins sitting in the truck.
That's a good idea keeping the plaque holder on the trailer because you can advertise your RUclips channel and at a truck shows you can tell the person who's looking at the truck if you're not at the truck who made the truck.
Plus you aren't hauling anything and if you do you will at least have a plaque holder on the truck, because the DOT can be a little bit fussy.
Looks like you're coming to the end man and it's looking good. 😁👍
If you are running duel anenna be sure to use cophase. The single coax stuff is 50ohm the cophase is 75 you won't get the SWR very low if you run duel 50
Hell yeah brother
Wow what a transformation from a average dull looking trailer to an absolute head turner. Great work Tony.
That trailer looks amazing!!! I only wish I could see it at the show on Saturday but I will for sure see it next year. You did an amazing job on both the truck and the trailer Mark, You have every right to be very proud of the job you have done my friend, Thank you for taking all of us this journey I can't wait to be on the next one and finish a couple more off. Have a great weekend at the show say hello to Mrs. Twin stix for us.
WOWEE!!! That looks fantastic! Wait, you mean you don't miss working outside?! LOL
Gotta get good with the 3 long toots on the horn for when u pass a convoy 😂😂
Man you should paint the blue Pete like The truck that snowman drove in smokey and the Bandit 3 that was the best looking truck he drove just a I'd
A long way to go and a short time to get there. 😊
Watching you channel over the years has gotten me through chemo treatments and recovery from broken ankles! So happy to see this!!!!
Don’t worry Mark. In Australia, we pronounce “semi” the same as you She looks good mate. 😊
The placards look great!!!!! You deserve you name on it!! Great job Mark.
LOL I love the humor 🙂
“ what’s the challenge in that” 💯👊🏾 Now there’s a few words you could live by!🤙🏾
O man! You’re getting close! Loving it Mark all your hard hard work and late nights are paying off! Keep on rolling!
Thats cool !!!
OUT F **KING OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My sister posted some pics of the final truck on display and I made a Smokey & The Bandit joke that I'm not entirely sure she caught. But it looks awesome!
Just here waiting for the next episode
Awesome! It's looking so good. Looking at your recreation of the movie truck and trailer takes me back to the night in 1977 when I went to the drive in theater with my family and saw Smokey and the Bandit for the first time. 46 years later I still love the movie and own it on DVD and Blu ray.
Can't wait to see it all completed!!! Awesome build and you sir have put a heck of a lot of work in to the bandit build but it will be something for every trucker in North America and Canada to enjoy for DECADES!!!
This rig better win a few awards at the truck show.
Ah man seeing that wrap com alive sends chills through my body. What a project!
Its awesome to see the progress of this rig,and how it's coming along so nicely. I love the movie smokey and the bandit, as a kid, that movie is what made me want to be a trucker , to this day. Been driving trucks for over 30 yrs now. I can't wait to see when it's all finished. 👍
Wow! It is looking like the Snowman's trailer now!
Hot damn that looks just about perfect. Bravo to everyone that brought it together!
Awesome job Mark it's going to look great. Was a lot of work but I think you and the people who see it are going to enjoy it for a long time
Definitely leave the radiator cover chrome, and add some gold stripes of some sort on the nose of the trailer to kinda match the truck. Yes no maybe so? 🙂🙂
Still blows my mind that that stays put lol in my mind will blow off going down road but idk
Man
Thats such a classic mural. Thx for sharing
I feel it’s like I am watching history being made… again, very cool.
