Those old Detroit V8s might just be my favorite old diesel engines. I'd run a 3406 or big cam Cummins for actual work, but nothing beats the sound of the old 2-stroke V8s.
One of the drivers that I worked with in the early 80’s was getting about two deer a week. The shop put a set of those on his tractor and he upped his average by one a week. He was so well liked I was convinced the shop put them on backwards to get the deer to come to him. Those were the days.
I just don’t understand why they don’t clean up some of those trucks better before running them through the auction unless they just get that dirty sitting on the lot. That first Pete was filthy, a truck like that would probably be a night and day difference shined up. 🤷♂️
Hi Mark another great on the hunt episode...here in Australia we call them "shu roo's" evidently they keep the kangaroos away...I've got 2 on my ute...love your stuff down under and down Richie
awsome video mark love the on the hunt videos that one cement truck seen better days thats for sure still can be usefull to the right person thumbs up and shared
Good morning Mark! The 389 with 2 dummy stacks was ordered with the grass burner to avoid having the oversized DPF box on the passenger side of the truck. So it has "old school" looking boxes under both doors, and if a guy was going to delete it, all you'd have to do is cut the round dpf out and put in a Y pipe and connect the dummies. Just a cleaner look for the new junk 😂
That old 359 short hood Pete reminds me of my dad's '76 359 he had many years ago with a Big Cam III 400 HP Cummins engine and a 13 speed transmission. Plus it had the 36 inch crawl in coffin sleeper too
The actual pork chop truck that was used in the movie was owned by a company in Maine called RD Roy. They went out of business about 23 years ago. They worked that truck in the fleet. I wouldn't doubt it if it's in the junk yard up in Agusta or in a field around here somewhere.
Hi mark enjoying all your videos love watching u going the auctions love old kenworth s u have a big fan base here in Australia thanks for showing us all your hard work
There are lots of cool old trucks sitting in yards around Calgary. I had a 86 Freightliner that was mint as I was the second owner. That truck is still hauling grain in sask to this day.
❤ Great chanel I drove big rig cross country for 10 years And I still miss it Love all the old tricked out rigs from the past These new drivers dont know how good they got it with all the newer air ride trucks and trailers They ride like a Cadillac now days
Ive got a truck that looks almost identical to the truck in the video but with a 42 inch sleeper. 1987 FLC120 white, aluminum rims, 3406B pushing about 550hp, s410sx turbo, 3.90 sshd 44000lb rears, 13 speed, aftermarket grill, projector headlights. We are in the middle of a restoration. Going to use it pulling super-b grain trailers hauling conola meal starting summer of 2024 in Alberta.
In Denmark we call them Deer Whistle, and yes they do the job. I've hit 2 deers with my 2022 Scania, and we put a whistle on because I don't want to smash the front a third time. The do the job just perfectly
I have a 1986 FLC 120. My wife bought it for my birthday. I don’t get to work on it as much as I would like since I am a heavy hauler. She knew my favorite trucking movie was Big Trouble in Little China.
Hey Mark, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from Tomball, Texas. Thanks for sharing a video today, I always enjoy the auction videos keeping me busy while the Thanksgiving feast is cooking.
Live 20 min from innisfail where that freightshaker was, always was curious about it too. Know that Pete quite well too, drive by it quite a bit in the summer
The original truck from the movie last I knew and seen it is still in Maine. The owner used it hauling wet lap out of woodland mill. Last seen it was a few years back.
Yeah, looking at more toys, but you already have lots of toys including one that you are currently repainting and a Pontiac Trans Am to build. That 389 with the dual headlights, external air cans and "dual" exhaust reminds me of old Plymouth Dusters. Many of those Dusters were equipped with the slant-6 engine, but then an owner would repaint them to look like a 340 Duster. They had the look, but nothing under the hood.
So let’s say you did take on this rig as another project one day. Imagine rolling up to a truck show with a hairy replica of the monster crawling up the back of the truck, lol, that would be amazing!!!
Regarding the deer whistles: I had two in the grille of my Silverado when I lived in a really rural part of New Brunswick, next to a provincial park where it was illegal to hunt deer and they seemed to have known it. There were an absurd amount of deer and they really had no fear, more than normal. I'd need to take my socks off to count the times I very nearly splattered one. After installing them, I think I saw a little less of them on the road when I was driving, but it's hard to say. The beagle I had at the time definitely heard me coming home though. Onto the rest of the vid: I liked the old Western Star and the daycab 379 the best. You mentioned the 3406C, which seem to be really uncommon. Did CAT not make them for very long? My understanding was they were around for a short time in the 90's.
1:34 I recognize that truck, last time I saw it was in Sherwood park at the flying J with a load on. I have a picture of it on my roadshots account. Looks fairly decent still
Hey Mark I watched a guy who went to the caterpillar Booth at MATS this year in Louisville. Cat now supports engine's past the 3406b the blocks are cast in Mexico then machined in the states. So if someone with 💵💵💵 can always have a old school engine.
The game whistle or deer whistle do work. I worked for trucking that put those on all their truck. I have a set of them on my personal vehicle and I drive home at night in deer areas and they stop where they are
Oh, the whistler pods definitely work if you put the right side and left side on the correct sides. I have used them for years on my personal vehicles to. And with out them you will see the difference.
Love it! You need to get that trans am sorted for Mr's Twinsticks before you buy anything else, or you're going to be toast Mark! 😅 Great vid, great chanel 👌🍻
Don’t know if those whistle devices work or not but Greyhound used to have them on their buses in Canada. Can’t see if a large company like that would waste money on something if they hadn’t checked out that they worked or not.
Hey mark I’m down here in the Caribbean on vacation. Loads of old American trucks down here blowing tons of black smoke. Cool trucks but the air quality is horrible. Another great episode
That one clip where they put in gear in A automatic service truck and it starts going back; the quick let’s go it started to oh shit it’s rolling had me dying
Another great video Mark and Happy Thanksgiving ❤❤❤. The Rubber Duck from Lima, Ohio Checkin in. Those Deer Whistles as my Grandpa called them actually do work. He had them on all his cars and his Motorcycle ❤❤❤. That Ford with the Detroit would be an great candidate For a Sleeper road tractor.
I had that exact bagged front on a 389. Worst front suspension ever. You hit a sunk culvert in a back road or pot hole it will flip the leveling valve rod and dump your air. You can just pop it off spin it and pop it back on in 15 seconds but its a pain in the ass
Mark, that old cement truck, someone may have bought it just for the cement mixer, and transfer it over to another truck in better condition and scrap the old white.
Company i work for run ke and Pete they got rid of the paccar powered tractors sad it is too expensive to maintain the motors. They have good luck with cummins power not a lot of issues at all.
The deer whistles are dangerous The deer hears the whistle Wherever he's standing He'll stand there trying to figure out where the noise is coming from Even if its in the highway
I heard the original truck is in Europe now. That was a good movie. Should use the scene from Wayne's world when they say get in the now, you can't afford it.
Morning Mark... Wooooooo hoo..double deal, thanks giving (in the states)and twinsticks garage....ahh hell the turkey can wait.. Twinsticks Garage is way more important!!🇨🇦❤✝️🇺🇸🦃😎
people bash on the paccars but I'm telling ya they take a shit kicking and keep on ticking, gutless for heavy haul like btrains etc but shit maintenance and they still usually break the million mile mark with ease. My current trucks a paccar has 1.4 million on it never been opened up, doesnt leak a drop of oil and no blowby.... only thing i miss is the power of my cummins!
Those small items on the front of the Petevare called Shu-Roo’s. Invented in Australia as you say to put off ultrasonic sounds that move the animals on. Some old outback drivers still swear by them, but as you say, rarely seen these days.
That old Motorola in the Detroit look like a 2 channel company radio. Old tomato trucks I drove in the 90’s had a north and south bound channel. Like the old cop dispatch radio.
Finally!!! After i emailed you over a year ago!! YES!!!!! U gotta do it buddy. PORK CHOP EXPRESS. U never see them! Your the man for the job! Please!!!

Well, Mark, after a Pork Chop Express, all you’ll need is a 1979 Kenworth K100 Aerodyne (BJ and the Bear) and you will have the ultimate collection.
What trailer would Mark put behind the Pork Chop Express?
Plus a black Mack RS700,a rusty 1955 Peterbilt...........😊
White line fever
I would love to see Mark do a BJ and the bear truck.
How silly of me to forget the Rubber Duck.
Loved seeing the Jacobs logo , the original Jake brake! Not many original 'jakes' here in Europe these days! 😢
Those old Detroit V8s might just be my favorite old diesel engines. I'd run a 3406 or big cam Cummins for actual work, but nothing beats the sound of the old 2-stroke V8s.
Loved the old cord with the Detroit. Also classic Ron Jeremy 😮😮😮😅😅😅
OMG!😂. Was that Ron Jeremy delivering a pizza at 9:32. Only an ole dog would know about him!
... and whaddya bet the girls didn't have enough money to pay him! 😆 🤣
Ron, the hedgehog, legend :):):)
One of the drivers that I worked with in the early 80’s was getting about two deer a week. The shop put a set of those on his tractor and he upped his average by one a week. He was so well liked I was convinced the shop put them on backwards to get the deer to come to him. Those were the days.

Happy Thanksgiving from the States Stix! Been watching from the beginning and what a wonderful Turkey Day tradition to wake up with ole Twin Sticks!
Hi Mark another great on the hunt episode...here in Australia we call them "shu roo's" evidently they keep the kangaroos away...I've got 2 on my ute...love your stuff down under and down Richie
I remember deer whistles. I don't think they ever did much, because it seems like the sound is going to be mostly behind the vehicle.
awsome video mark love the on the hunt videos that one cement truck seen better days thats for sure still can be usefull to the right person thumbs up and shared
On the hunt!! YES!! Thanks Mark!
Oh my god, the Ron Jeremy scenes made me laugh! And the Eddie Murphy Raw too! Awesome cut away work sir!!
Interesting 🤔
"Oh, oh, yeah!" Classic Mark, channelling his fans' enthusiasm!
Wow, an 8V-71 turbo! That's a badass truck!
That old 359 short hood Pete reminds me of my dad's '76 359 he had many years ago with a Big Cam III 400 HP Cummins engine and a 13 speed transmission. Plus it had the 36 inch crawl in coffin sleeper too
as much as i love your project videos i love these on the hunt episodes so much, great video as always man. Love from scotland
you allmost have to have those air whistlers behind screens.one bug plugs the hole, the air blows thru to make the sound.
Got to love old westies
Fantastic video as always Mark
That 359 would be a good candidate for a cut off on the rears. Update to modern axles and no rust. 20 for the freightliner seems too high
Big Trouble in Little China is my of my all time favourite films, the actual Pork Chop Express is now in the UK having spent time in Europe.
Dang i love these on the hunt videos!
How cool was that getting to cold starts. Always love on the hunt episodes. Keep up the great work and stay safe out there.
The actual pork chop truck that was used in the movie was owned by a company in Maine called RD Roy. They went out of business about 23 years ago. They worked that truck in the fleet. I wouldn't doubt it if it's in the junk yard up in Agusta or in a field around here somewhere.
Someone actually bought it and transported it to the UK
Hi mark enjoying all your videos love watching u going the auctions love old kenworth s u have a big fan base here in Australia thanks for showing us all your hard work

Love the Jeremy outakes for the Ford flatdeck- What did you tell your wife, Mark? “I’m just researching outakes for my videos!!! 😂😂😂😂
Check out Appell equipment sales may find the Freightliner you're looking for
Ive got a truck that looks almost identical to the truck in the video but with a 42 inch sleeper. 1987 FLC120 white, aluminum rims, 3406B pushing about 550hp, s410sx turbo, 3.90 sshd 44000lb rears, 13 speed, aftermarket grill, projector headlights. Man that old freightshaker was cool classic but the 359 short hood is my style with that short bunk 😎👍
I have a 1986 FLC 120. My wife bought it for my birthday. I don’t get to work on it as much as I would like since I am a heavy hauler. She knew my favorite trucking movie was Big Trouble in Little China.
Oh man it was a hot ride brother amen to that hell yeah
Hey Mark, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family from Tomball, Texas. Thanks for sharing a video today, I always enjoy the auction videos keeping me busy while the Thanksgiving feast is cooking.
Oh boy I feel an addition coming on your barn there for another show horse Happy Thanksgiving Mark to you and your family
I cant believe you walked right past that beautiful Sterling 1:18
Live 20 min from innisfail where that freightshaker was, always was curious about it too. Know that Pete quite well too, drive by it quite a bit in the summer
Thats an older 359. Shes got a Unilite "little window" cab, nice!
The original truck from the movie last I knew and seen it is still in Maine. The owner used it hauling wet lap out of woodland mill. Last seen it was a few years back.
Yes, please do the Pork Chop Express
Yeah, looking at more toys, but you already have lots of toys including one that you are currently repainting and a Pontiac Trans Am to build.

That 389 was like a cooler version of whistlin Wilson's truck
I love that truck!!!
Your attitude regarding automatics....
is commendable!
hello twin stick garage & it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks twins stick garage friends randy
The last time I saw the old Pork Chop Express truck R.D. Roy in Maine owned it that was in the late 90's
Big Trouble in Little China was one of my favourite movies growing up.
You keep teasing a Pork Chop Express.
Sounds good
1:34 I recognize that truck, last time I saw it was in Sherwood park at the flying J with a load on. I have a picture of it on my roadshots account. Looks fairly decent still

The game whistle or deer whistle do work. I worked for trucking that put those on all their truck. I have a set of them on my personal vehicle and I drive home at night in deer areas and they stop where they are
Notice that 359 has the industrial cab where the windshield splits
Oh, the whistler pods definitely work if you put the right side and left side on the correct sides. I have used them for years on my personal vehicles to. And with out them you will see the difference.
That old Ford 9000 is a long way from home. Love your On The Hunt vids and your explanations of the different models.
You don't see those old Fords with that custom interior very often. Awesome stuff. Truck market is really dropping fast!
Too cool! I wish I could snoop in person! Thanks for taking us with you!!
Love the old ford 9000
Love it! You need to get that trans am sorted for Mr's Twinsticks before you buy anything else, or you're going to be toast Mark! 😅
Great vid, great chanel 👌🍻
Thanks Mark awesome video. You and your family. Have a blessed Thanksgiving.
Don’t know if those whistle devices work or not but Greyhound used to have them on their buses in Canada. Can’t see if a large company like that would waste money on something if they hadn’t checked out that they worked or not.
That's awesome Mark. Happy Hunting. That would be a great project build there.
Hey mark I’m down here in the Caribbean on vacation. Loads of old American trucks down here blowing tons of black smoke. Cool trucks but the air quality is horrible. Another great episode
Mr Mark. Your to good to us viewers. Thanks for the leisurely stroll through the yard, as always ur a classy fella. Stay 👌. ❤ from pnw oregon
That one clip where they put in gear in A automatic service truck and it starts going back; the quick let’s go it started to oh shit it’s rolling had me dying
On the hunt episodes are my fav :)
Oh, lord Mr Ford! 😂
My work has a 2916 567 heavy haul with a ISX Cummins with 280,009 miles and it already needs a in frame and already had the trans replaced🤔🤔
Yeah that makes sense 🤔
The one at the start that you thought sold, we had about 5 trucks all the same in the last 2 auctions, it’s just another one that looks the same.
Ah that makes more sense
Company i work for run ke and Pete they got rid of the paccar powered tractors sad it is too expensive to maintain the motors. They have good luck with cummins power not a lot of issues at all.
Cool.
Keep doin' what Ur doin' Mark, it's all good!
Nice!
Pork chop Express, bj and the bear and moving on Riggs are next
LMAO!!! Ron Jeremy...😂😂😂Ohhh yeah ppl do twinsticks some solid..and smack that like 👍 button....
The deer whistles are dangerous
The deer hears the whistle
Wherever he's standing
He'll stand there trying to figure out where the noise is coming from
Even if its in the highway

The pork chop express is when I started really looking at frieghtliners and liking them
Morning Mark... Wooooooo hoo..double deal, thanks giving (in the states)and twinsticks garage....ahh hell the turkey can wait.. Twinsticks Garage is way more important!!🇨🇦❤✝️🇺🇸🦃😎
One of my favorite movies, Used Cars. a classic.
one of my Favorites the Freightliner FLC 120 1977-1987 nice truck
Happy turkey day to you an family buddy
Love that Ford flatbed with the 8V 71!
A black Western Star 4800 with red stripes, circa 1978 would look quite cool as well.
"Outlaw" written on the side...
people bash on the paccars but I'm telling ya they take a shit kicking and keep on ticking, gutless for heavy haul like btrains etc but shit maintenance and they still usually break the million mile mark with ease. I had deer whistles and they did work.
The good ole Pork Chop Express outta Visalia CA, with six G's a month going to Mutual Fidelity Insurers of Sacramento!
The deer wisltes work but long straight aways allow the animals to tune them out so they work on curvy roads but not miles on miles straights
Finally!!! After i emailed you over a year ago!! YES!!!!! U gotta do it buddy. PORK CHOP EXPRESS. U never see them! Your the man for the job! Please!!!
