Emma, You are so lovely. I could watch you sew for hours. Do what you can, do what you love and brings you joy. You have definitely encouraged me to get on with some of my many projects that have been on hold for too long. I find for myself often times the Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. We have to protect our peace and take care of ourselves. Much love, X
You have such a sweet spirit it makes you such a joy to sit with while I have my morning coffee. I do my morning Bible studies then I listen to you. I’m 68 and my maternal grandma did some paper piecing with newspaper she cut out and sewed by hand. In my early 20’s quilting was a dying art but with the only one book from the library I taught myself to piece by hand. Years later I learned on the machine but like you my love is working by hand. May God bless you and the work of your hands, love from Texas USA 💖💞
Hi there, Emma! I do know what you mean about hand fatigue, mine get terrible cramps sometimes. As a result I have not seen in a while but have turned to cross stitching as it is easier on the hands. However, seeing those beautiful shapes and fabrics, is a temptation. I believe you are right, a little here and there is the answer. A s always, thank you for your peaceful and calm inspiration!
How very beautiful that will be complete since it is already so pretty in its pieces. I just so admire your house box, it's sweet and charming. Blessings!❤
Sister from another Mister ! I absolutely LOVED this episode and yeah and I understand about the hands , mine are giving me a wee bit of grief too now , now if I could only stop my daughter from nicking my sewing lamp , I'll be very happy lol ...... Much love from Northern Alberta Canada ...
Hi Emma, If you buy the SewTites Light, that helps hold the patches for EPP and reduces the strain on yr hands. Can't remember but I think I bought them from Cotton Patch. Love yr videos. Joy, Cambridge.
Thank you Joy! Will check them out. I think I’ve resisted buying them in the past because I thought they were a bit expensive but maybe it would be worth it to reduce the pain. Take care
Hello Emma You are such a sweet person.Your videos are so calming to watch. I think your work and projects are beautiful. Thank you and have a blessed day.🥰
I love watching you & so relate because I, too, am very slow & like to change up rather than do all the cutting of one thing & then all the pressing, etc. It is more relaxing and less repetitive ☺️ God bless you as you work on a little each day❣️
I so enjoy watching your stitching. I also feel the same in that I really enjoy making small intricate things by hand but I balance that out by making large bed quilts that are super simple machine made and utilitarian. I need to pick up my EPP again soon. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thank you Emma for sharing the beautiful cross blocks... indeed,a little and often, stop before your fed up of something is my Moto.Keep warm and cosy xx
Emma, I look forward so much to watching your videos after a long busy day. You have a very natural calm way about you and i am inspired by your beautiful small projects. I’m 1/2 way through making your flower pin cushion and I am determined to finish it (my first ever quilt make). It was helpful to see that you too have unfinished projects that you want to get back to. My main problem is I don’t seem to finish anything! I have decided now that I have a little more time that I will finally go back and sift through my sewing projects and get started again. Don’t worry that you have have had your quilt project since 2020 …… I’m having to go back 30+ years to mine! They are mainly cross stitch or embroidery and this is the year to get going on them again, alongside my newly found quilt making, which I’m enjoying so much. Thanks for the inspiration ❤
Aww thank you for such lovely words! Really means a lot. I think all of us crafters have projects squirrelled away that are unfinished, I know I have quite a few! The way I see it, if the break you’ve had from a project is years, it will almost feel like a new project again by the time you come back to it! So you’ll get the joy of starting something new again! Thank you for buying the flower pincushion class, I hope you love working on it 🌸
Thank you, Emma, lovely to see your Lucy Boston blocks, they are beautiful. Beautiful fabric, and a lovely Cath Kidston organiser, I love how you use beautiful objects to hold all the bits and pieces. Happy sewing!
Oh Emma, you’ve made me miss my Patchwork of the Crosses quilt! I don’t think I’ve worked on it only once this year. I must get back to it!! Thanks for inspiring me! ❤
Hi Emma. This video has inspired me to get my Lucy Boston basket out and continue working on a project that I absolutely love. So much to do and so little time🌸🌸thank you.
2:54 I too, recently pull out a UFO and found some of my favorite tools (just like you pulled out this mini rotary cutter)... and vowed never to put my tools in the project bag or box... Now I have a separate tool bag and then my project bag, so if my project gets set aside, my tools will NOT go up on the shelf too! 💕🌞🌵😷
Thank you for today Emma you are so interesting to listen to, always making things interesting. I also could watch you sewing for hours and do sometimes . Your very good at explaining what you do so well. Thank you for that . Hope all goes well in your new workshop . I got my large 7x 7 ft quilt finished and quilted it’s on the bed and looks lovely . Wish I could send you a photo like you had previously asked me to do , but not sure how to do it. I will maybe ask my granddaughter when she is next back from uni.. I am a bit if a dinosaur with technology . Sorry .
Oh wow that sounds amazing Karen. You will be able to send me a photo through email. My email address is in the channel info part or you can find it on my website. I will look forward to seeing it 🌸
Lovely to catch up with you again Emma. Always so lovely to see what you have been working on. I can see this quilt is a lot of work but will be so lovely when it is finished. I love how you say the changes in the weather are typically English. I live in Melbourne and we are known for our four seasons in one day! It seems it is the same the world over at this time of year between seasons. Take care xx
It’s a pleasure watching you work. Enjoy all your videos. I am partial to doing hexagons. Would like to do a Lucy Boston quilt but I am 90 years old so not much chance of that. Greetings from New Zealand. (I was born in Bradford )
Thank you for sharing your work on the POC quilt with us, you have made much more progress than me. I subscribed at about the same time and haven't even started mine! There are always so many projects to work on 😊
Beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. So glad you've come back to this. I'm also working on a Lucy Boston EPP. Suggestbyou try 2 small flat magnets to held your 2 stitching peices together, so much easier on your hands.
Hello Emma - thanks for the inspiration - I am much more into small projects also - time to stitch is already too short as it is and I'm getting older so I cherish my quiet stitching time.❤️.
Hi Emma, watching your video after such a long time. Everything looked so lovely as usual. I was admiring the "house" box again. I just love it. Hope to see the finished Cross quilt soon.

Hello Emma, my question probably sounds a bit silly, but how do you take the paper out, or do you leave the in? Sorry I’m new to this, but I would like to give it a try. Thank you.
