Hey all. I'm very happy to return with a 2nd Simon video ! :) Part 3 is coming soon (which is probably the best part in my opinion since Simon is really, really interesting in this second half of season 8). But which Simon's scene is your favorite in this one ?
Indeed. And he was actually loyal to Negan. But the moment this psycho noticed Negan was going soft and miscalculating Rick he decided HE should take charge.
"Ohhhh that sort of tone is not gonna work" - Simon. For whatever reason, this is one of my favorite lines from him. I've even started using whenever someone gives me attitude 🤣
Because Simon enjoyed doing what he did for its own sake, he was evil. Negan did what he did to form a state which, thought authoritarian and abusive, protected more people than it hurt; which is virtuous.
Simon wiped out two entire communities. Also, it nearly destroyed Ocen Side and The Hilltop. Very different from Negan, who has the motto of "People are a resource".
ZestraX he wouldn’t have been able to live with Ricks new conditions and rules. Negan actually did Rick and CO a favor killing him before the war ended if Simon lived then Daryl and Maggie would have wanted him dead that and Jadis/ Anne would have most likely tried killing him to avenge her ppl
Given the magnitude of his character, I feel he was destined to die. However, I think they could have left his fate ambiguous and bought him back as an antagonist later on. Or even more interestingly, they arrive to the commonwealth to find Simon, maybe as a changed man lol
Gamma is not remotely notable enough to be on that list, she wasn't named Gamma for her competence or usefulness, she just proved her loyalty in a singular moment and then betrayed Alpha like 2 episodes later
@@RenaldyCalixte I mean I guess that's fair, but I'm not sure that's what OP intended. Beta was never a traitor. I think the point of the original comment was that each antagonist had their "enforcers" or right hand people, and my point was that Gamma doesn't quite qualify. It's just a trend on this show that 90% of them betrayed their boss lol
@@coomingnotgoing904 each antagonist had a loyal Enforcer and a henchmen that betrayed them. Governor = Martinez/Merle. Martinez never betrayed Governor he wanted to allow the Governor to lead. Negan = Simon/Dwight. Simon only went against Negan to help the Saviors win and cause he thought Negan died. Before that he was loyal. Alpha = Beta/Gamma.
@@RenaldyCalixte Martinez ended up running his own community, where I believe the Governor ended up killing him as a power play, but you're right about him. Simon had been becoming angrier and angrier with Negan's leadership and planned to kill him even after he came back. Simon had no loyalty to Negan by the end.
i agree. imagine how sick it would have been if simon lived till the end of the show OR was in a spin off. they could have taken his character sooo much farther than they did!
I was so happy when he mentioned Sasha because I thought she’d get no recognition in season 8 because if it weren’t for her sacrifice then Rick and CO would have stood no chance until Maggie and Ezekiel arrived
I get that Simon was a good character, but his arc was perfect. We got to know him, we figured out his history, we saw his downfall, and we saw the effect he had on Negan.
3:05 Simon is like that warped friend who has really strong principles or your playground friend who feels betrayed when you play on the other apparatus 😂
I remember also it cut to commercial after that, so I couldn’t help but feel like he spent the whole commercial break still tumbling down the stairs. 😂
I wish they didn't waste all the saviors... Smh. They shuda locked up the 5 captains with Negan. Instead of Oceanside killing them, and Carol killing the rest. It woulda been more interesting with them around especially Simon
Negan was cold and calculated, unlike the Governor or the people at Terminus, or even Simon. Negan had a game plan moving forward from the start, he had something establish and he had his morals and reasons behind it. The Governor was genuinely insane and was driven solely by the trauma of losing his family and the seething hatred for Rick, Michonne, and anyone related to them. The people at Terminus weren’t crazy necessarily but they were misguided and led to a sick view of the world through past trauma. They were cold and calculated but they were still unquestionably wrong in their actions and reasoning behind them. Simon was simply someone who enjoyed killing and who enjoyed being in power. He wasn’t happy being second in command and he wouldn’t have been happy if he took Negan’s place. He killed indiscriminately, he enjoyed it, and he would eventually have killed everyone in his sick show of power if left unchecked. Negan didn’t let emotions take his judgement, up until Carl. Negan had an established situation and he was in a morally justifiable manner of doing so, he insisted that himself. Sure he killed people, but he killed only the people he deemed necessary to save others. He didn’t kill kids, up until he intended to kill Carl, but that was the emotion caused by Carl from the admiration of Negan seeing him as his own. And when he did kill he saw each person lost as a genuine loss, a new hole in his system and economy that would need to be patched immediately.
The Apocalypse made Negan, The Governor, and Shane into villains. Simon was a villain who made the Apocalypse into his playground. Negan alluded to that when he asked if Simon was backsliding.
Season 7: simon was confindent and happy cuz he was in power and they had controll of alexandria hilltop and kingdom Season 8: was more evil and rude and wanted to take over wanted all of the power and alot more stressed

Haha!Sure it was a damn nice night simon Miss the right hand man, killing him that fast was very wrong, ogg is special and it’s hard to compensate the guy; so the end of “all out war” was a little fair enough.. Negan said it first “Having one of those is important.. i mean.. what do you have left with out them.. A WHOLE LOT OF WORK”
White Lion I was hoping they’d use his walker in the finale like maybe when Negan was telling Rick and the piss patrol over the loud speakers that they fell for his plan maybe Negan would have thanked Rick for telling him when they were in the basement about Simon massacring the garbage ppl and that he appreciated Rick for telling him and then Negan would have had walker Simon start moaning over the speaker and Negan would have been like yeah Rick, that’s Simon thanking you as well then Negan would have released Walker Simon on Dwight and then Eugene’s bullets malfunction and Eugene kills walker Simon Negan gets hit by Gabriel and Dwight and the fight went as it normally went.

Trevor shouldn't have attacked Hilltop it only pisses Negan off, and him killing the garbage people the main food source in the region

I miss Simon so much. He was such a great villain, and he kept my attention everytime he was on screen. Steven Ogg is a brilliant actor overall.
He was actually Negan's big weapon. When Negan killed him, was the moment they truly lost
Negan lost when he recruited Eugene the faulty bullets killed what was left of negans men and that really crippled the saviours
