I think part of the huge fascination with London is how monstrously central it is to the UK. From the American perspective it’s like if Wall Street, the Whitehouse, Hollywood, and Silicon Valley were all in the same city.

Any world map using flags to colour in the countries is bad design. They're never easy to read. I love maps, I love flags. But never together.

Yes, as I was planning over with another fellow compatriot on this comment section, I opened up the discussion for the annexation of Taiwan to the Federal Republic of Brazil, it will be an oversea territory of the Kingdom Of Brazil, in which mainland Federal Republic of Brazil is under, and its semi-autonomous oversea territories. We will also take Hawaii and make it our 27th state, if our fellow United States of America citizens agree on a nice deal, they will have to change their flags and remove one of the stars, maybe they just cross it over with black ink with a nice "X" to denote their unconditional love to Oil. We will deliver some nice oil reserves for Hawaii, they will love it! We both win "bigly" as former president Trump would have said!

First map also shows Libya with green flag, that was used during Gaddafi rule. So, apparently this map were made before 2011. That's also why there's no South Sudan.

For the first map, Russia does go further north, but the top of the flag is white so you can’t even see it, still a bad map obviously though
The fact, that the top of the Russian flag is white, is not the issue. They really just erased Russia's black border. If you take a look at Canada or Finland, they do have black border in places where white color of their flag meets the ocean.
Actually Brazil may possibly have claimed Hong Kong before, because there were times when the portuguese empire was really the empire of Brazil with Portugal as just one of its colonies, and Portugal did control Macau so it may have claimed Hong Kong at some point
Brazil was never the main kingdom of the Empire, the capital was Rio de Janeiro for a while, sure, but Brazil itself was only promoted to a "Vice Kingdom", so the full name of the Portuguese Empire was "United Kingdom of Portugal, Algarves and Brazil". Also i highly doubt that Portugal would try to claim Hong Kong when it had just fell under British control.
I mean, Portugal claimed the entirety of non Christian eastern hemisphere, so during the Napoleonic wars when the government was in Brazil it technically claimed Hong Kong
For the first map, based on what it says on the bottom, it's showing where you can send money. For that reason, it's not odd to me that Greenland is missing entirely, same with South Sudan, but it seems unlikely that the company in question can handle transactions to almost every country, but not somewhere like Denmark or New Zealand. This doesn't appear to be Western Union, though, so maybe the company in question doesn't have the ability or authorization in the places that don't appear.
That size comparison site is really interesting. I am ready to waste far too much time on that

I keep trying to make sense of the 2:07 map and just can't. It seems to use a bunch of flags and general borders from the 19th century, such as using the Brazilian Empire flag, The German Empire flag, the Qing Dynasty flag etc. But then you look at Morocco's flag and it's represented with a flag that hasn't been used since before the United States even existed, and then there's other inconsistencies like why is the Dutch South Africa flag on Madagascar even though that was never a thing? All of these would mean that the caption is just blatantly wrong. But even if the caption was right and this is like a political-influence map, it still makes no sense
It is an alternate history map. Which means political bounderies are meant to be different from our real world.

maybe its a map of 2012 the disaster movie I don't know why it would be a map of that or why its so weird, but that's what came to mind.
That 2012 map of the world looks like someone downloaded the map of the end of their Victoria 2 campaign and made it into a flag map
Denmark used to own what is now the south of Sweden, so they used to definitely border Sweden
Especially at the time the map was made. Denmark only lost those parts in 1658.
The first map of them all is I think a map of countries you are able to transfer money to, so that's why Denmark isn't in it because, for some fucking reason, you can't transfer money to Denmark and all of the pacific thing east of Papua New Guinea, also there is a part of Russia you said there wasn't, it's just white and camouflages itself in the paper

From 1815 to 1822, Macau actualy belonged to Brazil, given Rio became the capital of the Portuguese Empire.
It was even the empire of Brazil at one point, and for a time Portugal was basically a colony if not officially one which it may have been

When you said give Macau to brazil, technically there was a period of time from which the kingdom of Portugal was ruled from Brazil due to a Spanish invasion, and Portugal held Macau at this time thus there was a point in history during which Brazil ruled Macau
If you're talking about the period roughly between 1808 and 1822, it wasn't a Spanish invasion, but a French one. In 1808 France was enforcing the Continental Blockade and Portugal refused to comply because they were very dependent of the UK. When the French invaded Portugal the Court fled to Brazil, which became an united kingdom alongside Portugal and the Algarves, so the Court could rule Portugal even though they were in a colony. The Spanish Army did in fact participate in the invasion of Portugal alongside Napoleonic forces, but it was mainly French; additionally, "Spanish Invasion" could easily be confused with a period from 1580 to 1640 when Spain ruled over Portugal and it's colonies (a.k.a. the Iberian Union), including Brazil and Macao, because the King of Portugal died and the country went through a succession crisis.

2. Greenland is gone
3. Libya has its old flag
4. Norway’s and Sweden’s flags are weirdly cropped
5. Some of northern Russia is missing, also the flag is weirdly cropped too.
6. Solomon Islands, Fiji, and New Zealand are missing.
7. There is no Hawaii
8. South Sudan is no more
9. Australia’s flag is also, once again, weirdly cropped.
10. Canada’s maple leaf is off-centered.
11. Falklands is gone.
12. Denmark is gone.
That is all I can find.

The old map showing the three continents Europe, Asia and Africa is written in German and it is really weird. For whatever reason the Italian city Milano is a seperate country on there.
Most of the countries on the European site are German provinces although Germany is listed as a seperate country on there already. In Africa there is a kingdom called Kingdom of Melinda (where is this coming from? xD). And the title of this map in the English wikipedia article is written all over the place. It's not Kleberblatt (which means glued paper), it's Kleeblatt (=shamrock). 😂
