    the proof that you can make a good fantasy film without shooting, supermen and monsters. and with only 4 actors. and speaking of them - Laurence Fishburne appeared for 5 minutes, but what a 5 minutes only! talent is talent!

      I am contemplating putting it as new #1 on my all time favorite list...
      Which is a HUGE deal for me. Current one has been there for at least 10-12 years...
      But this movie hit me SO hard in the feels. I haven't experienced anything like this in ages. Last thing, I remember having such strong emotional reactions was when I watched a season 4 episode from the original Walking Dead series, called "The Grove". But it was a different kind of feeling....
      I crave for these... 🤤😭

    I'm so happy you two liked this movie! I love this movie but most people I have watched it with can't get past him waking her up so they miss all the beautiful moments. My favorite Chris Pratt moments is him looking at himself in the mirror right before he wakes her up and he says "Please, don't do it" So much emotion in those words!

    I like this film. When I think about it, our planet also travels through space. We live our lives there, sometimes so alone, sometimes alongside a loved one. Isn't the important thing to live our lives and leave a trace, even ephemeral, in the lives of those who will follow. In this film, a book or a tree, on our planet a descendant or memories, smiles, something that lasts, which proves that we were also passengers of this vehicle. For Rob & Trin, videos showing all their humanity through their emotions. ❤️

    I've seen this movie dozens of times, but I had never made the drowning connection before. Gus makes the remark to Aurora that Jim was drowning, and then a minute later Aurora is actually drowning in the pool. Interesting...

    So glad to have finally seen a positive reaction to this film.❤ I genuinely enjoyed the commentary and slower pace, touching on all the significant points. So many people get triggered by Jim's supposed "unpardonable sin", but I think for most of us who have experienced the dred of loneliness, this movie hits way differently. A fantastic film and totally relatable reaction, well done.👍

    The universe works in mysterious ways. First one to wake up was a mechanic, the second even though it was on purpose, she saved his life, the third was essential to help them figure out what was going on. Finally to solve the problem it was necessary 2 people. Jim alone wouldn't be able to do it.
    So the truth is, all the passengers on that ship would've been dead if Jim hadn't woken up Aurora, even if his choice was ethically wrong.

    I demand more people to react to this. 😅
    Like, I've never had this strong feelings, not since me and my ex gf broke up almost five years ago now....
    It almost felt like the time back when ourselves were falling in love...
    GOD, how I miss that.
    😭
    It ended ugly. But why would anyone want to know this? 😅
    I'm rambling. I should have gone to bed like 3 hours ago now, but I'm obsessing over this movie....
    The fist time, I couldn't breathe anymore was when Aurora seemingly drowned. I think they maybe COULD have killed Chris Pratt off at the very end. But I'm also 100% ok with the ending they chose. For me as a romantic, it's the perfect ending. Feels like I'm addicted to it. Planning to watch it a lot more times....
    I don't wanna spend the rest of my life alone either...

    If you decide to watch the Deadpool movies. Just a heads up. They do contain adult language and some of the scenes involve graphic violence. On the other hand Ryan Reynolds does a superb job in the role. 😅

    J Law's best performance imo. Convince me otherwise.
    I don't understand the things this woman can do with her eyes. 😅
    And cause me to feel all sorts of things.
    Silver Linings was pretty sweet aw well, but also confusing, because they were mentally ill people with baggage. Towards the end I felt a lot for J Law's character, the dancing and all, it just came a bit abrupt compared to everything before that what happened then (trying to stay vague here, if anyone hasn't seen the movie yet, they definitely should).
    Mother was also very good and SO interesting. But also more symbolic.
    THIS movie is like the perfect fantasy for me. In terms of the romance.
    🥰💘
    I just don't wanna be a stalker. 😅🙈
    Gladly I am not one. But I also wouldn't.
    The rest though? Most beautiful. The chemistry these two have was killing me. I think it is impossible as a man to watch this and not fall completely in love with Jennifer Lawrence's character.
    While watching this part of the movie, the short, happy one, I've briefly described it as "The cosmos... and US 🥰🤗❤️"
    I don't think I can even imagine anything more beautiful. And I used to be sort of a dreamer... 😅🤭😔🙈

    I feel like the movie could've been massively improved by just removing the section showing him finding and sabotaging her pod, and letting the audience work it out alongside her. It removes the creepy r@pey feel to the middle section of the movie.

    • @rbrainsop1
      @rbrainsop1 Год назад +5

      I don't know... I feel like it would be creepier without seeing him struggling with the decision. That's the real meat of the story- the extreme loneliness, the moral dilemma, the struggle... and then you get to watch the aftermath with all that context

    • @symmetricempire
      @symmetricempire Год назад +6

      if they did that, if they didn't show us him sabotaging her pod and didn't show the struggle and moral dilemma of it, then when we find out with her that he sabotaged her pod, all of it would've felt "creepy and r@pey" with basically no way to redeem him because we didn't SEE him struggle with the idea of waking her up. Now for a horror movie it would've been perfect, her realizing he woke her up and then it being a type of thriller of her hiding from him on the ship when he's been awake a whole year and basically knows the entire ship like the back of his hand.
