Arthur : “You can’t get so hung up on where you'd rather be, that you forget to make the most of where you are.”
Beautiful movie with great chemistry between the characters.

Much love

I always imagined and wished that they had confirmed it in the movie that the Ship woke him up early because it started running diagnostic checks on itself and noticed it had some technical issues starting to come up. So it woke him up because he is a mechanic and might have been able to fix it. And then continue the same story, that he couldn’t stand being alone, woke someone up ect. They end up saving the ship and living lives together.
I can tell you I have been self isolating myself for 12 years now, and It is a brutal way to live. While being around others is worse, I do have to do it once or twice every few months. I can't imagine wanting to be around people and not even having a choice.
Wim hof ❤
Fucking house elf
This is one of my favorite movies. Titanic in outer space with Jack & Rose saving the ship and the "Passengers". If he didn't wake her, they would have not been able to save everyone.😉 Another great movie is "Edge of Tomorrow", with Tom Cruise.
I'm so glad to see someone react to this and enjoy the movie and also understand how hard that choice was for Jim. I like how the movie shows his struggle and him trying to talk himself out of doing it, the drowning man line is perfect. It doesn't justify but explains the desperation of someone reaching out for anything to stay afloat.
I absolutely love this movie because of the psychology behind it. Some people might think that they can deal with loneliness because some of us already don't have a lot of social interractions. But there is a tremendous difference between few social interractions with other human beings, and none at all.
When someone don't have many social interractions, he still sees people when going out, at the store, the bakery, talking with some people here and there, even if it's only messages with strangers. We all have social interractions often, even if we feel lonely. That's why there's a difference between "feeling lonely", and "being alone".
Him, he's just compleeetely alone. All he can do is watch presentation videos from the other colony members, and talking to a robot (Which is nowhere near talking to a real human).
Now add to this the knowing that you have the possibility to not be alone anymore, it's right there, right in front of you, and the only thing that keeps you from doing it is moral.
But you start to lose your head because of the complete loneliness, to the point you want to do what he tried to do...
I mean, there is only 2 options here: You actually do it, or you wake up someone else.
Absolutely no one could just live and resist to the temptation, no matter what they say. Some might last longer than him, yes, but others might last a lot less too. More than 1 year of being utterly alone is unimaginable...
So yeah, love this movie, because even with the plot problems, the philosophy and psychology of it is just so interesting to watch and to think about.
Pretty good space movie! Really highlights the isolation factor of long-duration spaceflight well. Another one with a heavy psychological focus I would recommend is a British film called Sunshine by Danny Boyle.
I love that movie
"Sunshine" starts off as a potentially interesting SF story, then turns into a silly slasher flick.
@@paintedjaguar Only if you don't understand the movie.
@@SrCadet1234 There's no mystery to unravel about it. It's a pretty shallow film that's trying to seem profound.
@@paintedjaguar You just don't understand the themes and that's okay. I learned about it through the critical drinker. If he recommends it, then it's definitely worth watching!
Michael Sheen played a perfect role as Arthur
I love your reactions, I started with your walking dead series and never considered that I'd be interested in seeing other reactions but one by one i've found myself clicking on more and more videos. I love the marvel reactions and I've only even seen clips of this movie but i'm so excited. Your guys' reactions are top tier, i love how connected you get to characters and genuinely feel the beautiful and/or sorrowful moments of these shows and movies.
same, now ive seen some marvel reactions and their BCS series
OH thank you so much, you have no idea how much your comment means to us, it exactly what we want people to feel with us!
It always felt to me like there was heavy studio interference in this movie. The director is very european, and I think the original idea had much more thought provoking moral conondrums that got polished away by the studio during the process. This always felt like a movie that could have been way better than it is.
What you get to see is the depths of what loneliness can drive a human being to do. Ultimately a selfish act but then redeemed at the end by love. Just a really well written script, superb acting and some interesting interactions of the human condition. It's not the destination that is really important but the journey you live through. 😅
Glad you gave this movie a view. It is one of my absolute favorites!! 🎉
I watched this video on RUclips where they rearrange the scenes, so You start out with Jennifer's character and It changes the tone of the Movie completely.
I mean he did basically just kidnap her/murder her, I cant see a world where Chris Pratts character is anywhere even near the right in this movie.
bro after watching the walking dead reactions im addicted to these videos now
This story could have been an amazing horror story too!
@@michaelconnor1542going to have to check this out because this movie felt like a horror movie conceptually 😂
Visually stunning movie with a great premise and well crafted script. The chemistry between the main characters and Martin Sheens android a real bonus performance
I'm late to this but I just watched No hard feelings a few days ago it was actually pretty good.
I love your idea of 'just' picking a flick for no reason or poll or whatever and I'm so here for it.
IF you do want some options thrown into a pot, I hope you could consider: Thomas Crown Affair (w/Pierce Brosnan), Tin Cup, Four Weddings & A Funeral, The Commitments, Fabulous Baker Brothers, Stranger Than Fiction...
Stranger Than Fiction is a good one. Might actually give that a rewatch tonight. Been awhile.
@@rumham7466 Yeah, I watch it from time to time, enjoying the beautiful 'moments' it has. I saw a movie reaction vid a while back and they had this kid-in-a-candy-store look on the entire time, in wonderment at just how good the movie they were watching was and how they felt like no one knows about this awesome movie; I forgot just how good it was until I saw it through fresh eyes :)
YOU DID IT I commented about this on your first Jennifer Laurnce movie! so glad to see this is here :D love you both
🥰
omg i actually watched this last week, (First time watching) loved it
Im afraid of watching space movies, idk why... but this movie made me love space movies lol.
Really enjoyed this one back in lockdown
Me when I talk about my crush "you won't hear me talk her name again." Haha. What a lie.
😂yeah we've all been there done that!
Oooohh! I love this movie!
Please react to Silver Linings Playbook! JLaw is absolutely amazing in that, probably one of the top movies tbh.
I enjoyed this movie. I really like space movies and such and this is a good one.
nice choice!
You guys are fun, been watching you for a few months now, following your walking dead series. Ive subbed now 😉👍🏻
Thank youu welcome aboard!!
I subbed for Walking Dead, too. But are now my favorite reactors. Patreon is totally worth it, as well
One of my favorite movies! Robinson Crusoe in space! 🙂
I love this movie. I love movies with ethical predicaments. The choice he made is understandable to me but I get her rage too. At the end of the day it's the old story of the American and Japanese soldiers stuck on an island: Cooperation and optimism are the only way if you don't want to consider suicide so...
Absolutely great movie it’s a more realistic Wall-E without the robots falling in love more of them devolving
James should have done some window shopping first.
ok, i never watched the movie and i didn't finish the video, but if he find out a way to wake someone up, why he didn't woke up someone from the crew or someone that could do something ?
Its explained in the movie the pods of the crew are in a locked room of the ship and he couldn't get to them
Good movie
IT was really good indeed!
Good evening R+T
Good evening 💕
Btw where will the poll be on yt or patreon?
The polls are usually on patreon, and yeah after 4 movies win we pick one from the list that didn't win.
🎉🎉🎉
Aw I totally took u as a black coffee guy u have a good choice of tv obvi u had a good choice of warm beverage
I have to admit, I hated this movie 😂 I wanted to turn it off the moment he took away her choice and it was just not a movie that resonated positively with me. I had to watch it for a science fiction competition I won and was asked to watch 10 different films depicting space flight and humanity’s relationship with space. I never really got on board with the romance. Not a favorite film for me but I always enjoy your reactions and thoughtful reflections - so thank you Rob and Trin ❤
how have i never seen this movie? i have never even heard of it... such a good movie so far lol...

yooo i would have cried when she got me a gold meal after a year of grey paste or w/e that was he been eatin hahaha
J Law's best performance, imo. Convince me otherwise... 🤷♂️
jennifer's best role since the hunger games. red swallow was more than a weak film; doomed at first.
Awe man… it’s a shame you watched the theatrical version. The fan edit I feel is WAY better.
Good choice. "Passengers" doesn't get much love mostly because it isn't PC enough. Chris Pratt's character should at least die for his sins. Of course they could have rewritten it to put Jennifer Lawrence in the Chris Pratt situation, but that just wouldn't work, would it? You can't have HER do the bad thing. Of course any woman would be noble enough to just do the 90 years, so there's no story, right? And then there's a contingent of unimaginative types who'd prefer to have Chris Pratt be a creepy serial slasher, waking up women only to kill them after a while. No thank you to any of that. Boring.
Now me, I could do a year standing on my head. Maybe even two. But it isn't a year of course, it's a life sentence in solitary confinement, knowing there's no escape and on crap rations to boot. I lean toward liking happy endings too, though I don't insist on it, so I actually like this movie just the way it is.
Love this prequel to guardians of the Galaxy
21:57 / 21:58 This is when the movie broke my heart into pieces the for the first time. All things considered, I find the way they fall in love the most romantic thing I have ever seen. The core of the movie, essentially. And this is space for me. Scary, of course. But so is love. Falling in love is scary. But also so UTTERLY beautiful....
By the end, I was so wrecked by this movie.... 💔💘😍🥹😭
I just saw this masterpiece for the first time myself today and I was blown away. 🥹
I cried SEVERAL times. And WHY are there this few reactions to it? I can find two. Exactly. 🤔🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ I'm sorry, what? This is from 2016, right? So I assume, either they're CRAZY with that one in terms of copyright claims on YT or there is some sort of conspiracy or some sort of really bad press in relations to this movie.
I don't care. Don't wanna hear about it. I saw it and felt something I haven't felt in a VERY long time. Not this strong. And I like to think that I am fairly intelligent. I don't think, I missed anything obviously wrong in the movie. But after all, it's sci-fi...😅
