    mixing up the parts is impossible as each will fit only where it is supposed to.
    if it is your first time cleaning your C7 truck, you might want to group them together and keep them in the same order to make it easier for reassembly (specially the thrusters and washers)
    cleaning products:
    1. your regular tissue paper for big chunks of grease
    2. acetone for the stubborn grease (or any less harsh cleaning chemical)
    3. disposable gloves to protect your hands
    grease:
    1. any grease will do (lithium or marine)
    2. bones speed cream
    no need to buy skate tool.
    your regular hardware tool will do ( wrench, pliers )

    Shane your a genius mate. Just followed this vid. At first i thought oh god what have i done. But i finally got rid of the annoying clicking and squeaking sound when i pump. The board works more fluid and responsive. Also it does give you a greater understanding of how a carver board works and the level of craftsmanship that goes into making them.

      Finally took apart my 2004 Carver C7 and it looked surprisingly clean and in good condition (I don't skate daily). I found the following:
      1) Looks pretty much the same except no C-clip holding the spring bolt.
      2) It was never greased or light grease wore off.
      3) Two major areas of wear. These should have heavy grease: 1-Spring bolt wherever it contacts with the link. 2-nub on arm bearing plate which connects to the link.
      Hope this info helps anyone maintaining their C7🤙🏾

    I'm mechanically inclined and have fixed cars and motorcycles, house wiring, computers and other electronics, firearms, and most other devices.
    But for some reason I have been reluctant to disassemble ny C7. 😂
    Maybe I just didn't trust those big stacks of washers to go back together.
    Anyway, now I have no qualms about screwing with it.

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  4 года назад +3

      Yes. Add marine grease for extra protection against moisture. Cover the whole surface of the spring.
      I had the same problem twice. Try cleaning all residual grease on the bolt head and in/around the hole. Also try not greasing around and into the spring nut.

    hi, I have a CARVER RESIN 31 skate with truck c7, and I am having a problem with the screw that tightens the spring.
    it comes loose all the time but too easily. I tried to disassemble the truck c7 and he cleaned the grease near the screw head (maybe he could make it easier to unscrew, like your advice) but it didn't help. after 30 minutes of skating I find myself with the screw completely released. what can I do? thank you

    How do I know if my spring is broken. Is it supposed to make any rattling noises when riding and hitting bumps or rocks

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  4 года назад

      Most of the times, it is the bushings that are squeaking. Put a drop of oil on it. That should do.
      If your spring is broken, you won't get any rebound when you pump.
      Still, it is good from time to time to open the C7 system to check for wear.
      Sometimes the spring bolt is too loose, and so it vibrates freely as you move.

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  3 года назад

      Yes you should definitely grease (marine grease preferably). Cover all part of the spring. Avoid the bolt head and hole
      You may check them back fortnightly/ weekly for wear if you ride a lot

    • @shanelai2515
      @shanelai2515  Год назад

      No matter how much you tighten the C7, it will never feel the same as a CX. The C7 will always feel more 'flowy' because it has a long arm. Also over-tightening the spring will cause it to lose its elasticity (springiness) over time.
