As one of the scaranation people (ifykyk) i HIGHLY approve
Another amazing video! I love watching your process. The rough color on a single layer is always so intimidating to me because it already looks finished 😆Before I had difficulty understanding the method of separating layers and clipping them to the rough color layer, but I think it was presented really clear here! Thank you for showing us your process again!
Aw but that's the point! I am more intimidated by the idea of having multiple unfinished layers I have to go through individually and render all of it on it's own. That way I am close to call it done when the rough colour layer is finished^^ So the satisfaction is higher since I can render whatever I want without switching and it feels more naturally to me^^
I am glad it was more clear here. I forgot to record this step so I was worried it might be confusing. Thanks a lot for your comment :3
@@kurohshiro Yes, it's a much faster process from the artists that I see using it! I think I might have to give it a try at some point now that I understand it a little better!
Can you explain how that bit works? I don’t get why we need to create a grayscale layer to refine the coloring
That's crazy!! Your art seems so sharp and a tinge of messiness and softness. I can tell from your process, that every stroke you put is very intentional. Good stuff!
Aw thanks for noticing this! I am not sure but when it looks intentional I am glad haha
this made me realize how lazy i am to be an artist
how long does it take for you to finish?
--help, mine takes about 20 hours and it's spent on me fixing the sketch (because of that, i get too lazy to do lineart) ;-; the end result isn't even good like it's so basic to be a 20+ hours drawing
@@shuu_chi takes me 1 hour to fully draw a character, but i cant blame you though im just different breed
I learn and progress at a crazy speed thanks to your videos. Thank you so much to share all your tips and process, it helps me with finding an art style... Your talent is really masterful ! You're a real reference for me so i hope you will continue to post !
I am trying my best to keep making videos^^ Thank you!
thank you sooooo much!!!
what the fuuu thats so pretttyyy6 omg🛐🛐🛐
woahh tysm!! love ur videos
I've never thought about clipping the color sketch to the seperate layers
Thank you so much! You make it very easy to understand and it's super helpful
Amazing piece! And thank you for including brushes - can't wait to try these out!
I love your videos so much! Keep up the good work
I really love ur art, it's amazing!
I really love your art and your tips are so helpful! It's really helping me improve my art at an amazing rate, tysm
Amazing work really helpful video !
separating the layers after having the rough color is such a genius idea! i'm gonna try it out :) thanks for the video, it was so informative and your art is gorgeous!!
Watching this is SO inspiring! 😍 Love your style and art!
Amazing as always!
Amazing work!!
absolute gorgeous piece!! and great video!! thankyou for showing your drawing process, it helps a lot and its beautiful
I want to cry, thank you so much for uploading your entire process. As an artist I find it so inspiring and motivating when people share how they do their artwork. I always feel like using references makes me 'unskilled' and that no one else needs them like I do. This really puts things into perspective and lessens my worries. Thank you again, I think this is actually helping my artblock.
Clipping the rough color to the separate pieces is a genius idea! I'm going to try and do that from now on.
I learned so much ! Very interesting to see how you work thank you
I really love your arts! It looks so beautiful 🥹🥹🥹💕💕💕
This vid is so amazing, watching your process is so satisfying and seeing the drawing come to life... and of my favorite character nonetheless! You're amazing
Your working process always amaze me. 😭
I almost never leave comments under videos on RUclips, but I just can’t get past your channel
I like your art style so much, you are one of my favorite artists ♡♡♡♡ this incredible softness combined with roughness in your art, it's so nice to look at
And your speedpaints are always so informative and inspiring, with relaxing music in the background
thank you for every video on your channel! You're really amazing! ♡
Woah Scara looks so fine plus I really love your art style!! :D
thank you very much to give us the name of the brush ^^ love you!!!
Whoa, I didn't know you had a YT channel... I'm following you on Twitter and I'm a fan of your works!! Thank you so much for your hard work on creating arts, and watching your videos blows my mind. It's so amazing, thank you so much :')
thankyou so much for the video it's really amazing and detailed process, I don't do the rough color process as the result it make the value of my painting so bad, it's time to implement the new knowledge
Spectacular vid as per usual! Your color work is just amazing! As someone who kinda struggles with colors, I am just... WOAH! I'd love to see a more in-depth video about your "Rough Color" stage, with comments!
I've incorporated some of your process into my process and I've improved significantly I love your art style so much 😭
Oh wow, I am so glad to hear!
Could you someday make a video with tips on how to find references? While I'm looking for references, there's just too much information to choose from and I get starting confused... I admire you for being able to create such a wonderful work from so many references. I love your art style and your videos so much!! Take care of yourself😌💕
Thank you for the tutorial! It's so satisfying watching you draw, and it really inspires me to draw during those burnout weeks.
Could you also share how you made your brush cursor appear as five lines? I'm been trying to figure it out but my research has gone no where haha.
Please and thank you!
thank you for sharing your process Kuro! Its so inspiring~ I wanna draw pretty pictures like you! I love you art !!!
Oh wow, thanks a lot! I really appreciate it ^^
i love your videos !! it's always awesome and you give great tips !!!!!
That's wonderful to hear, thank you!
Ughh!! Thank you so much for showing some tips of CSP, some of them that I didn't know because I kinda new with the programs. You're art is so lovable! I'll be waiting for your next tips!
Gosh, thank you very much for your comment! I am so glad it could help^^
Thank you so much for the upload, your videos always motivate me to draw and are very informative. I love your art style and I can’t wait for future videos!! Have a good one everybody.
That's such a sweet comment which really motivates me to do more. I love the idea of people finding inspiration in the stuff, it almost feels like a mutual drawing session whenever I watch this type of content :)
A wonderful video like always! It's always a pleasure to watch you
Thank you^^
love your art style !
btw you should like make a video on like explaining how to like draw the anatomy and stuff for like dynamic poses
edit : i just found out , u already had a video on that :)
Perfect just in time!
That way of clipping the rough colour into many layers seems really lengthy but seems to be worth the time for you, not sure if I'd ever bother
your art is so gorgeous also thank you for making these videos they’re very helpful🫶🫶🫶
Thank you! Glad to hear :3
I am very grateful for your videos, because they are the only thing that moved my progress in drawing from the dead point, the only channel on which I understood many things and the functionality of programs, thank you very much
Aw thanks for this comment! I am so glad my stuff is helpful to you!
I really adore your art style 🫶 ty for making this video! I hope you doing okay kuro ^^
aw thanks for your comment! I am okay, more or less :)
Ayo thanks for the video!! I have been taking a break from art for nearly 3 years now (occasionally doodling something once in like 4 months) but your videos have inspired and given me motivation to pick up drawing for real again. I think I am also lowkey "scared" to going back to being an artist again after stopping for so long but I have been applying some of your techniques into my new artworks and find myself having fun and hopefully courage to start posting again.. so thanks so much!
That's amazing to hear! I am so glad you keep on drawing. Honestly there's nothing like the fear of missing out or growing out of a style in my opinion, since whatever you like is the best style, So maybe Anime style is scarry, it ranges from semi realism to absolute cartoonish simplifications. I am actually trying to apply painting techniques to my stylized anime character drawings :)
Anyways, I am wishing you the best for your art journey, having a community to share things to and get engaged helps to get back to it, get motivated and excited to be back in the art sphere ^^
@@kurohshiro thank you for your kind comment! Having a community for sure helps a lot and is also the reason why I started art in the first place back then. Having people and fellow artists to engage with kept me motivated and going and I miss it, hence I wanna go back asap. I'm also trying to apply more painting techniques into my characters, altho so far I have been using it at later "steps" of my work process when touching up the drawing. Your videos have been perfect guides to me to have an idea where to start so I really appreciate them and look forward to whenever you post a new one!
Hellooo! I really love your artstyle. It's so pleasing to the eyes.
Aw thank you! Glad to hear :3
Kuroshiro! your Video helps me do art more in CSP!! god i love how you shade them especially your lineart!! it really looks so good ! I'm in awe!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Oh wow, I am happy to hear! Wishing you all the best :3
Thank you Kuro for making these videos!! I have been struggling a lot with finding an art style and color etc, and you really help with these tutorials! Keep it up :)
Have you found your art style now ?❤
Thank you! I think the thing with the art style is that you will always involve and work on it. The changes might be subtle the more you find a way which works for you, so I am really glad to hear! Wishing you all the best^^
@@kurohshiro thank you so much!! I’m feeling more confident in my work as I watch videos like these. :)
@@sael5084 mostly yes!
This is real good stuff.... love to watch and learn... please keep making these videos..... and also want to see some real time process from you. Thank you.
Thanks a lot!
yay it's scara!
I could watch a million process videos of you and still never get bored, they're always so inspiring. I thought I'd seen every kind of process there was but you have a very unique one and I've managed to learn a lot from it, please keep making more speedpaints c:
Thank you! So glad to know it's helpful^^
@@kurohshiro I have one question, how do you get the cursor you have, and how do you make it show along with the brush size? Sorry if you've already answered somewhere ^^"
I can't draw boys but you... SO GOOD
I really love the colours and colour palettes you use so I was wondering how you pick them?
I am to say you are probably one of my favorite artists on yt. I love your art style and you have influenced me (in a good way) on my art journey with your tips and process videos. I wish all artists can do this because I like studying how other people does art this way! Like @GuranPurin said I am also a bit intimidated of doing all the rough colors in one layer even though I understand why you does it like that. For a second I thought it was finished already lol but in the end it looked better than I could have imagined! Just one request can you please make a video of mostly uncut footage of you drawing? I just want to see the entire process of you making your art so I can study part of it when I find myself struggling! Thank you and I will always support you :D
Oh wow, that's such an endearing and kind comment, thank you!
If I would post my uncut footage it would be a 24h video for sure xD But i will think of a way of making a 1-2h draw with me kinda style video. Maybe with some relaxing music :) Thanks for the input!
Omg that's awesome! I'm so jealous! I would love to draw like you. Also I Wonder hiw long it took you to draw this
If Wanderer was in Star Rail, this is what he would look like! Thanks for the process tutorial as well!
Finally! Someone realized that this is Scaramouche!
Yeah I’ve got him Triple crowned, he was my favorite character until Neuvillette came out @@KazuhaAndScarasNo.1Fan
you are great at making concepts for your drawings!
How I wish I could make such great concepts too ❤❤
Oh thank you! I usually don't know what to draw and then i just combine a cool outfit/style/trend with a character I like drawing..so thats basically my concept ^^'
Great video! I've been struggling to find an illustration process in CSP that works for me so I'm definitely gonna try yours! I do have one question for you. What resolution/dpi do you usually do your illustrations in? I've been wondering how much does that affect the quality of my drawings. Thanks again for the video and thanks in advance for any advice you can give! 😁
Seeing you used 5 or more references on single illustration gives me a new perspective! Now i only use 1 or 2 references. I think i need to search more references from now on.
Your method on the single layer rough color and have it clipped on individual base color layer is really amazing. I wanna try it but feel a little bit scared for making any mistake and can't go back 😂
Great and inspiring video as always! Can't wait for your next video ❤
Ohh I use a ton of reference. When I know I want to draw a gemstone, i look for 2 or 3 references just for this single object. It's so helpful :)
For me the single layer thing is less scary because theres nothing to ruin since I make a copy of it before I refine it. Sometimes the rougher initial shapes are the best looking ones and I won't overrender stuff like this^^
Thank you!
needing that as a skin
Line variation is so hard (hence why I don’t draw lineart) but you do it so flawlessly o(^▽^)o
the rough colouring tip has motivated me so much to continue some abandoned art, it’s really helpful. Copy pasting it also keeps the original progress so that’s a good tip.
Also about the lasso tool, everytime I use it it makes these really pixelated edges that as a perfectionist I hate, is it just ibisPaint orrr… and how do you pick colors, my color choices are often really saturated and well, unrealistic. Maybe it’s different stylistic ideals, but I like how you art has a softer look to it.
Thats amazing to hear! This method makes my workflow so much less intimidating and stressful. I feel more productive this way^^
Ah okay..I don't know how it works for Ibis Paint since in CSP its working fine. Maybe its a matter of Anti-Aliasing or the dpi of your overall file?
For colours, I plan on making a separate video for it. But basically I try to have muted based colours and add really strong saturated hues when I colour (for shadows especially and the edges of shadows)
Thank you so much for the video!! Your tutorial and tips always help me to improve my drawing, i really love it!! May i ask that will you make a video about how to paint hairs? I always suffer on painting hair and still not sure how should i paint it in a good way TT but it's okay if you didn't make it> < once again thank you for all the tutorials, it's really helps me a lot!!
Oh okay! I will add it to my video idea list. thanks for letting me know! Thank you for your kind comment :3
Your drawings are very interesting for me, may I know how long it usually takes you to finish 1 drawing? Also i really like the way you draw, it makes me want to get serious with learning to draw so i watched some of your videos too, bless you always!
feels relatable to see artists with lots and lots of layers like mostly u see everything is drawn on just one layer but for me I need to make one layer for each and every thing just so I don't mess up ( ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥) .I love how you color its so relaxing and soft (´༎ຶ ͜ʖ ༎ຶ `)♡
You’re amazing amazing amazing!!!!!!!!!!! I always look forward for your videos and it helps a lot
Question: can CSP brushes be imported to procreate ?
Thank you! Sadly I don't know if that is possible since I never tried. But I think it's not that easy since the settings work differently. I tried recreating some of my brushes for Procreate but wasn't able yet. If I find a good way I will share it :)
Ur uploads are always super helpful Kuro!
Thank you! Anatomy is still a thing I can't explain very well, I just try to wing it whenever I draw a body haha But maybe I can find a way to explain this 'method' ^^
@@kurohshiro Tysm for replying!!, I hope you do one day
As always you give us amazing content and help us see how digestible the process is, so it feels less intimidating.
There's one thing I'm curious about... In regards to your overall progress throughout the years, when it comes to practice (although artwork and fun drawings are also another way of practice) what would you say you have done the most? artworks, wips and fun drawings or practice and studies?
Actually you already mentioned it. I never practiced, I always kept on drawing one finished illustration after another. Rarely studies. That's not the best way but when I wasn't sure how things worked, I looked for references, many, and tried to implemented what i saw into my art. That way I built a visual library of how things have to look (roughly) and when there is a special, unknown thing like the paw of a tiger, I have to look up refs again. The more you draw a certain thing, the more you will remember it without references :) I hope this answer helps you ^^
This video is amazing will you open the kuro marker for free download 🥺
Surprised you're not using Windows > Subview for your references since you are using one at a time? A lot of people don't seem to know about it.
Please upload video fast 😊 next make a video on how to improve drawing ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ i love you drawing style 😊😊😊
I'm a bit unsure on this, on the rough colour phase, do you shade everything on one layer? Like for eg, the skin and hair shading are on the SAME layer? Thanks for the video btw. Your art is absolutely gorgeous! I look forward to more videos from you :))
lmao nvm ignore this, got my answer
thank u so much. Now the world know how much hard work is put into an art piece :))
and i mean the way u credit, sort out the brush for us . Awwwww, you are an angel
Plz take care and rest properly
And one (slightly) stupid question how do u make your brush tip to that four stoke shape ?
* I know u not just put a timelapse but instead intentionally zooming in while edit for us to see so thank u :)))
Oh thank you! I try to remember :) Also thank for noticing the editing details, it makes me so happy^^
That's the fault of my recording software, I don't know what happened there ^^'
SCARA THAT YOU!? 😮
thank you so much for this video, i haven't drawn any digital art for the last 2 months and i completely forget everything. This video really helped me to remember every steps to draw digital art😭🫶💖
Hype!! I’m here early. I’m a huge fan of your work. It’s always hard for me to find references on pinterest. Do you have any boards you’d recommend by any chance?
I collected my stuff over the span of years, so I fed my Pinterest algorithm to give me good inspo. I hope to make a video about finding good references and inspiration without spending too much time or getting frustrated. Maybe I can make a public board for clothes, poses etc. :)
@@kurohshiro I’ll try to do the same for my references! that idea would also be super awesome! Thank you so much for your reply 🙏☺️
Hi Kuro! I love your process videos ^_^ Thank you for sharing them with us!
I was wondering what recording/editing software do you use to make your timelapses?
Hey! Thank you. I am using OBS Studio to record and Premiere Pro to change the time/speed of the footage :)
@@kurohshiro Thank you for replying :D Do you have any particular settings in terms of the FPS or something of that kind you record at to save disk space/CPU usage?
OMG.. you make scara so handsome&hot with your art!
Thanks for the video! I love your art style ❤ what brushes do you recommend for procreate? Like for the flat marker and the one for line art?
I am not used to procreate, whenever I darw there I get really frustrated because I can't find brushes I like. i am currently working on making my own but till then I can't really say anything about it, I am sorry. Maybe the round brushes are good? I also like Nikko Rull Brush :)
@@kurohshiro thank you! I’ll try it out, I only have procreate rn, I haven’t tried clip studio paint yet
before i used to base my ideas and sketches on just one reference and i think that’s the reason why i get so frustrated at even the beginning stages of my process if i can’t get the sketches the way i want it to be. thanks to you I’ve learned that i don’t have to limit myself just one reference and idea when i could experiment a lot with various refs and ideas :D
it’s honestly so inspiring always to watch your process!! for me art is my source of healing and passion, and your work really helps fuel that up :D
as always please take care of yourself, take breaks and have a really good day !! 🥰
Honestly, I don't move on to lineart when I am not happy with the sketch since that's basically my foundation. This might be different for others, who can make all the important decisions when they ink but for me it has to be clear right from the beginning where the illustration is heading to. That's why I make so many different versions for arms, poses, heads etc^^
Thank you for your comment and lovely wishes, wishing you the best!
I have a question, whats the fonts name used in the video at the end of the intro section with purple text? It looks really cool!
I always love your videos and art, and i appreciate you showing your process
hmm I am thinking, my feed is providing me such a nice selection of input because I fed it over years of using pinterest.
Sometimes I look for 'Japanese modern fashion' 'Korean fashion aesthetic' 'tech wear' and once you find something you like you get recommended similar things :)
@@kurohshiro omg tysm! i will try looking up those things
Hii! Ive been watching a lot of your vids and was wondering if you could share your brushes on procreate ( i already downloaded ur csp brushes :>) Well I got an ipad recently and i couldnt find the brushes you use in procreate. I tried the one in your line art vid but comes out too thick :((
Thank you so much for this video! I do have two questions: how long did it take you to finish this piece and what is the size of your canvas?
It was a rather fast drawing, I think total working time 40h. My size is 3300 x 3700px with 300 dpi :)
Your art process is absolutely mesmerizing thank you so much for your videos
oh and p.s. you might've missed a finger 🤣 but beautiful art nonetheless
Ahh I actually don't. People told me on Instagram, it's just unfortunate because the one hidden finger has this black glove with the ring. So yeah, at the first glance it might look like that TvT
Your art is so sharp and pretty! I want to try digital rendering now, thanks for showing your process!! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
hi, does anyone know the brushes for coloring shading (like the pen, marker, watercolour, blendf) kuroshiro uses?
Scaramouche kìa:3, mà bạn vẽ đẹp lắm á =D
Can you tell me what the brushes you use for color ?
Your art is so sharp and pretty!! I'm inspired to try digital art rendering now, thanks for posting your videos! ٩(ˊᗜˋ*)و
What brush did u use for the rough colour?
First :DD
I want to really get in there with detail and have a big image if I want to print it someday. But I'm still struggling with line width and I'm only using the g-pen. @_@ I don't want to have really thick lines but then I don't get the taper I want..
i have a few questions what program do you draw on and how lo9ng does a avrage piece take you?
Gorgeous work! Can I please ask this What software did you used to record the timelapse? I've been looking for timelapse screen recorder that take very few frames per sec (like 1-2frame/sec) to reduce disk ram. But most sofeware I downloaded took at least 15frames /secs 😿
Thank you! I am using OBS Studio :) I don't know the frames per second, the files are massive but I always try to delete it afterwards to have free storage.
@@kurohshiro I see. Anyways, thankyou kurohshiro
He's so fine😍😍
Hi! What a tablet you are using or used in past (if you have ipad now)
does anyone know what device they use to draw? i would love to be able to draw like this!
MUNCH UR ART IM NOT JOKINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
I don’t understand how to select all of the lineart? At 3:19 can someone explain what is happening and how to do it? Thanks!
Yo, anyone know how Kuroshio have like a second canvas where it shows the drawing but flipped. Sorry I’m still new to clip
