Note: The descriptions made by the roman poet Ovid about Medusa inspired this script. Gaps in the story were filled by me, in a fictional way, to make the original myth, which is composed of a few verses, more accessible to the new generations

I think its because Athena saw it as a chance to give herself a good reason to get rid of Medusa so that the attention that Medusa was unwittingly attracting to herself more so than to Athena would all go back to her. But then Athena realized later on when Medusa resumed doing the rituals to honor Athena despite no one being around who could see her doing it after finding the ruins of one of the old Athena temples that Medusa hadn’t become one of her priestesses for attention and started to feel bad. Doesn’t even come close to justifying it in fact in my opinion I think it makes it even more infuriating.

What really happened was that after posideon did the thing to Medusa, athena blessed her to be able to ensure that no man ever touched her without her permission again, and has medusa on her shield bc she was seen as a protector of women. Medusa's Head was found in gathering places for women all over greece, which further proves she was seen as a protector of women and not a monster.

This version of Medusa was written by the Roman poet Ovid, who had strong anti-authoritarian views, and it shows. His portrayal of Athena (or any of the gods) is like a completely different character compared to the Athena you see in other myths. Also, because Ovid was Roman, he was likely more familiar with the Roman version of Athena, Minerva, who wasn't as favored by the Romans as Athena was by the Greeks. The Romans instead favored Mars (Ares).
Medusa as a mythological character had also been around long before Ovid was born.

This comic book version of medusa's curse is very good. Once I saw this I immediately thought it was a good twist to the original story of medusa. She has a childhood friend who loves her. And when posidon pursues medusa. Her friend tries to help her the sad part is that after she suffers. The one goddess she loved the most athena destroys her life completely. What's amazing even after all the horror medusa faces. She still remains loyal to athena. Its sad to see her be lonely and isolated. And Living with the tragedy of losing her best friend wish she had a happy ending.

@@kamronspencer4910 this what makes greek mythology stories phenomenal, not all stories should end happily because it's much more realistic.

@@jamesbeethovendumao4450 well I mean. That’s true but my point was Ovid wasn’t Greek.

It’s actually said Medusa was blessed with this ‘curse’ by Athena to protect herself and Athena later used her head on a shield in honor of Medusa and to protect herself and those she fought for

      Yes... That is true....

It causes severe damage to the head.
Especially when 1 feels they had no choice other than to develop a shield from incoming thought she had no control over. Those thoughts could unknowinly hurt those near her if they took it personally. Almost like a cruel game to divide women through thought itself.
If 1 puts out into the thought forum
      In
      Permanent
      Self
      Therapy
      No Blaiming
Well then .... The curse fades... because it has nothing to use
Still really hard because she did care and didn't want others suffering those cruel thoughts beyond her control and the sheilding was causing major head drain... As it was probably intended.
      Moral of the story
      B kind.
You never know what an indivudual is going through
Also if you hear bad thoughts that would cause anger between 2 people you can remember...
No blaiming n permanemt self therapy
It should clear any bad incoming thoughts. Because blocking the thoughts drains your focus. So does people trying to pluck thoughts from the mind to reak havoc on a personal caring system.
      If anything
Perhaps smile. Because any who would try to create chaos thro intimidation thro insedious avenues between 2 people just let's you know that there's true love in the making*

Rivalry between two greek deities led to the misery of a young innocent woman.
    Medusa deserves so much better.
