Yeah, considering it was the gods who cursed Medusa in the first place, I reckon if they'd just said "Medusa, how would you like a chance to get revenge on the gods who did this to you? All you have to do is close your eyes, come with us, and look at the Kraken when we tell you," Medusa would be like "hell yeah, I'm up for that, f**k you Athena!"
And this, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite depiction of Medusa, bar none. She's human enough to make you remember her story. How even in her own personal hell, she's still hunted down like a monster. And she's so very human, in how she acts: her emotions, her facial expressions, and the sounds she makes. What really does it for me, is that you can see the fear and sadness cross her face when she's beheaded. I really have to applaud this depiction.
Should have changed the story by having Perseus talk to Medusa and ask for her help. Instead of being killed she is recruited. She has to wear a veil the entire time to avoid killing people, but her skills as an archer plus her desire for vengeance against the gods makes her a valuable ally. Of course you'd also have a member of Perseus' inner circle that is sleazy, and you get the humor that he is the only one immune to being turned to stone because he will never look Medusa in her face
If i remember the backstory for this was there is a huge titan that is gonna destroy their town which was released by hades. This guy(bald) is zeus son?? And he needed medusa head(power) to basically turn the titan to stone since it still can turn ppl to stone after beheaded. I watched this when i was young and always thought this scene was so wrong for medusa.
@@sammy_yammi592 I could see that. If anyone would have a motivation to say a giant F U to the Olympian gods, Medusa would. Not only was she cursed by Athena, but several of her siblings had been involved in trying to overthrow the gods at one point or another.
Imagine if someone came to visit Medusa not to claim her head but because they felt remorse for her. Perhaps a blind man who was once a proud warrior until he lost his sight in an accident and was deemed useless afterwards. Medusa would be able to actually interact with this man because of his lack of sight and they would grow a bond. He would visit her frequently and both would later develop feelings for the other because both could relate to each other’s loss.
honestly knowing the background of the mythology story, i feel that there was really no "good guy". and even if that's not true, i rather believe it is cuz medusa is very misunderstood and innocent until people attacked her.
@@mustardmadness9514 What original myth? There are so many stories and retellings, there isn't one defining story that acts like canon, simply a common thread among the stories. Medusa, a horrific monster, sometimes a cursed being, sometimes not, with a petrifying gaze gets killed by a mortal champion who needs her head for reasons.
@Rudraksh Tiwari No, that was basically a 1st century fanfiction written by a Roman. Medusa, along with her sisters, were born monsters in the original Greek
@Luc Germain Yep, they went after her head because of her purifying power (that can make someone turn into stone by looking at her beautiful eyes). They basically killed her just because of that bruh! If I were a god that is stronger than Zeus (even if I'm not stronger I'd still help her lol), then I would have helped Medusa as much as possible.

Everyone talking about Medusa but no one paid attention to Drako's valiant sacrifice and his epic death saying: let them know that a human did it, he finally got his revenge and died as a true man mocking the gods.
It hits home when you remember a conversation near the very beginning of the movie. "Why don't you ever smile?" "I'll smile when I can spit in the face of the gods"...as he turns to stone he smiles.
This is the best animation of Medusa's body - very snaky and fierce. Plus the gorgeous face of Natalia and the well-crafted lair. Kudos to the artists!
What I like about this depiction of Medusa is that she's armed and ready. Several centuries of people coming into your house to try kill you will force you to be prepared. I also like her choice of weapon. Bow makes great sense, you can shot at the home invaders before they get close to you.
They made a huge mistake though with that in the movie;in the movie one of the guys gets hit with that big arrow head, that's what's called a swollow tail, those were invented in Europe.

I like how after her head was cut off she was still trying to kill him, just like what happens when you cut off an actual snakes head. Some snakes you can slice the meat out to eat and they’ll still be moving towards you.

@@dereenaldoambun9158 what's even more interesting is that in the original version of the myth (where Medusa was born a gorgon), Poseidon found her hot and seduced her! Athena didn't really do anything in the story.

Omg...
@Cyrus McWind It was a reach, but Medusa was without a doubt a victim.
Not shown here : Perseus meeting Poseidon and kicking him in the balls...
i agree strongly she was a human who was tragically a victim by the gods
Should have changed the story by having Perseus talk to Medusa and ask for her help. Instead of being killed she is recruited. She has to wear a veil the entire time to avoid killing people, but her skills as an archer plus her desire for vengeance against the gods makes her a valuable ally.
Of course you'd also have a member of Perseus' inner circle that is sleazy, and you get the humor that he is the only one immune to being turned to stone because he will never look Medusa in her face
@@wellidk_12 That's one version of her story, the romanticized version.
They used a Russian model I believe. She had the strong yet angelic beauty they felt fitting for Medusa.

If i remember the backstory for this was there is a huge titan that is gonna destroy their town which was released by hades. This guy(bald) is zeus son?? And he needed medusa head(power) to basically turn the titan to stone since it still can turn ppl to stone after beheaded.

He would visit her frequently and both would later develop feelings for the other because both could relate to each other’s loss.

I saw a snakes body still moving even after it had no head, skin, organs, and was on a spit on top of a fire, literally nothing but bone and muscle and still moving.
Snakes' head are still alive even after decapitation.

Yeah I think anyone would be rightfully pissed off too if they were sexually assaulted and then wrongfully punished for being the victim by being turned into a hideous monster with snakes for hair and a petrifying gaze. Medusa wasn't ever a monster, but I'm sure that after her curse, the hatred at the injustice against her caused her to over time, become the monster she appeared to be. Poor woman.
Yes and she also didn,t deserve to be killed i mean if they are gonna use her head as an company logo for dumb shields and swords then you can atleast draw it and i get that they had to get that head for the kraken but could,nt they just simply made a copy of it with her powers enchanted in it and leave her be
