I have been making popcorn my whole life, I primarily used an air popped machine, but after 20+ years my machine died, and I have not found its equal on the market. This tutorial gave me the most tender, fluffy and wonderful flavor of popcorn from my childhood! Thank you for sharing these tips

This is THE best way to make stove top popcorn. I’ve tried 3 times so far and have had 99% popped corn! You must take the pan off the stove for the break especially if you have an electric stove (residual heat).
    Tip for nonstick:
    - add oil to nonstick and heat with the tester kernels
    For stainless:
Heat pan first EMPTY for at least a minute. Splash a few drops of water. It should bead off. It it takes more than a second to sizzle, it’s not hot enough yet. When splash test shows the pan is ready, drop the oil to coat the pan. Add tester kernels and shake. And follow steps in video.
    Hope this helps!

Thank you for sharing. I always make my popcorn on the stove the same way my dad did it. One thing I still do just like he did is to pour the popcorn into a large paper sack, pour the butter in and add some salt. Once done, fold the top of the sack down and give it a good shaking. Turns out so good.

These tips worked. I've been making popcorn for years but they always tend to be dry. I hardly burn my popcorn unless am unattentive to the pop. But following each step not a single kernel got burnt. Very nice soft texture and also non oily.
I used 2 Tsp butter, 2 Tspn sugar as I was craving some slightly sweet popcorn (not a big sweet tooth)

Just wow!!! I like to make popcorn over the stovetop only. Unfortunately, before today, I have never had such great success in making it. Today, I hardly had any kernels left un-popped. Add to it that not a single kernel burned. Thanks a ton for this video - this is the best video I have seen for this.
Sharing what I did. I took a couple teaspoons of cold-pressed organic coconut oil to the pan and heated it at a high setting for a minute. I added a couple kernels as you suggested and followed the process until all kernels popped (just the same way as in your video). While the pan was cooling down, I made a mixture of virgin olive oil, onion powder, pink salt, finely powdered black pepper, turmeric, and lemon-pepper salt, and stirred it well. I drizzled this over the popcorn and mixed it well before savoring it hot and delicious!!!

I got gourmet popcorn as a gift for Christmas and finally got around to cooking it. It has been a least 20 years since I made popcorn on the stove. I said I got this, how hard can it be. I got out my Dutch oven poured enough oil to cover the bottom of the pot and added just a little more, just to make sure. Then I added the popcorn, enough to cover the pan, and put it on medium heat. Nothing happened so I added more oil, and put the heat up a bit. Finally, I heard the first pop, see it's going to be great. Another 5 minutes later I had about 20% of the kernels popped and then the silence, so I took it off the heat and poured it into a bowl as 2 more kernels popped on the floor( what a waste I thought). The only thing that made it edible was the extra butter I poured over the few kernels that popped. At least I remembered not to pour it in one spot. Now it's time for RUclips, next time I'll do it your way! Thanks for a great informative video, you have a great channel.
    Update:
    Followed your direction today ...Perfecto!
