  • Step 1 of the blonde process! This client of mine had level 4 hair color on her hair for the last year (professional, thank goodness!) and we are now starting the process of going bright blonde with a rooted look! This is one of my favorite techniques for going lighter on dark hair while maintaining good life and healthy hair. How would you have done it?!

When you learn more from watching you than in Cosmetology school. Could you possibly make a video explaining toners? How you mix them together and choosing the right one?

I love watching your videos. I’m not a cosmetologist by any means, but I just find you so positive, and just really enjoy how you explain your technique. 😊

I don't know how often you do red heads, but I would love to see you do a gingery/auburn/strawberry blonde balayage or even just all over color! I LOVE your videos!!

Jess, I just wanted to say thank you for all of your videos. I literally been binge watching and learned SO MUCH from you. I am so grateful to see hair stylist like yourself sharing your tips and wanting to help others. I am going a year and a a half at a salon and trying to build clientele but i feel like its not busy enough for me and the type of people dont like a change and keep things simple where as I love doing balayage and starting to love doing foil work. Unfortunately I dont have those clients who are interested :/ I am scared to switch salons but i know its for the best. Watching your videos literally is making me love doing hair again. I started off wanting to be a makeup artist since I knew how to do makeup for about 10 plus years but never was interested in hair until I started school . I love the idea of being creative and making people feel good. I also love leanring new thingd everyday. When it starts to become the same I get very bored. I would loveee to work at salon like yours and also the type of person and worker you are is how I would love to find myself one day . I am alll about professionalism and making the client feel their best. The thing that also discourages me at the salon is I am giving a certain time to do a service and it bothers me so much because each person i get I have all these things I want to do but I dont have the time. i dont have the freedom I need and I just cant work like that. I know this is my trial and I will one day get to be where you are...just not as great as you haha! I would love to see more cutting videos, and also taking care of yourself to avoid carpol tunnel or any other way to avoid getting hurt in the long run. What shoes do you recommend for work? a video on how to price your services would be awesome too!! LOVEEEE your vids girl keep it up! and again THANK YOU so much for sharing all of this...theres some stylists out there who wants to charge for sharing their tips and I respect the hustle but I also believe that we are all in this together and when i am finally confident in what i am doing I would love to help any one who asks... have a great day:)

Just a quick tip on teasing with babylights- I personally prefer to weave out my section and then tease only the hair I plan on highlighting. I find if I take a large section, tease and then weave (like you showed in the video) I end up with so much dark hair from the tease covering up the highlight. When I weave first and then tease I find that it helps leave no demarcation line without having so much dark hair that it covers up my babylights. I also feel like it stays a little more organized because there isn’t such a big mass of teased hair flopping around at the top of my foil. Hopefully that makes sense, and it’s obviously a matter of preference but I thought I’d give my two cents! I love your videos and your beautiful work!

Hi!! You mentioned you put olaplex in her hair as a barrier so when you’re combing down her smudged root it doesn’t transfer into the blonde, is there an alternative you can use instead of the olaplex? Thanks!! 💕
