    That is insanely gorgeous! Have you ever noticed that SEQ processes different if you don't let it sit in the bottle and oxidize for a little bit? In beauty school I was always told "use color when it's freshly mixed!" but I think with shades it works better when it sits and oxidizes. I used to wait to mix it until after I rinse and towel dry but now that I mix before I seem to be getting truer pigment with them. Just wondering what you think 😊

    • @priscillanieto3322
      @priscillanieto3322 3 года назад

      Cosmo student here but I understand color very well, it's a speciality of mine :) I know this comment is older but I hope this helps someone. I think you get a truer pigment when letting color oxidize first because it ends up processing for longer. If you apply when freshly mixed and then only leave it on for a few minutes you won't get any true pigment. So I suggest still using it when freshly mixed but leaving the color on for the full manufacturing recommended time. If you are worried about something going too dark, icy, or warm, just mix multiple shades accordingly to counteract that while still being able to process shades EQ for the full time needed.

    Love this video as usual!! Thank you for all the education you give us hairdressers 😍
    I have a tape in extension question I have been dying to ask you! I use Hot Heads Tape-in on both myself and my clients. I love the convenience and speed! I use them on myself not for adding thickness, but of course to have longer hair. I know I have chemically damaged my hair about a year back and am patiently waiting (and not coloring!) for it to grow long and healthy . I've been using tape ins for over 2 years and I feel like my hair length has barely gotten longer. In your personal experience, have you seen both yourself and your clients grow long nice hair of their own while using tape ins? Or is there some damage that prohibits that and splits ends more, etc? I just need the encouragement!! Lol

    Shes brown now.... She wanted to stay blonde and have her roots show (making it balayage) insted it looks like one colour or just 1 shade apart. Idk looks pretty on her but would look better lighter

    • @JV-ut5sw
      @JV-ut5sw 7 лет назад +3

      I felt like it came out darker than anticipated, as well, but I think maybe lighting had to do with it. She looks much lighter, outdoors. Either way, this is still very much so blonde. Not brown at all. I think people kind of expect blonde to be bright all the time. I had to show one of my co-workers a level chart to prove to her that she has natural blonde hair. Went her whole life thinking that her hair was brown.

  • @meganizzle23
    @meganizzle23 7 лет назад

    Do you add in a neutral and a G over blondes when your adding back in a darker color? I noticed you have done that in past videos and it turns out gorgeous

    • @ashleyjohnson1999
      @ashleyjohnson1999 6 лет назад

      Megan Danielle the G adds warmth to it so that the hair doesn’t turn green or appear “muddy” or like I like to call it, dirty dish water! The neutral helps it so that it doesn’t become too warm. Whenever someone lightens their hair, the pigment is removed. When you’re darkening, you have to replace some of the missing pigment with warm tones to avoid the green or muddy tones.

    • @mindymiller3270
      @mindymiller3270 6 лет назад +1

      It just gets rid of any harsh transition line. The idea is that what little dark color gets on the brush won't affect the lighter ends with enough bleach globbed on it as you apply to the bottom.

    • @mikaanderson1690
      @mikaanderson1690 7 лет назад +2

      Michele Condon if the hair has a lot of yellow then your not at a level 10. Therefore using a 9 or 10 shade toner will not do anything to soften the tone. Tone at the level you are or darker. That was one of the hardest things for me to do.... train my eye to the correct level. Good luck

      If the hair has yellow, it’s probably a level 9. Mixing shades EQ with 9v+9nb will give it a cool beige tone. Good luck
