- In this quick tutorial, I explain how to use the basic autopilot functions on IndiaFoxtEcho's new F-35 for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
NOTE: This is the developer's first stable release of the aircraft. I noticed that the ALT HOLD feature wasn't very smooth in climbs or descents, however this may be rectified in a future update.
The aircraft can be bought here for €30: secure.simmark...
If you have questions, queries, or feedback, do let me know!
You've nailed the way tutorials should be. Thank you.
That's so kind of you to say, thank you! :)
Really appreciate the simple, straightforward, clear way you presented the info. Fantastic video!
I really love this jet. It's very fuel efficient and the computer is setup to easily access many options right in front of you. Most fighter jets have buttons all over the place and feel so unorganized compared to the f-35. The autopilot is very responsive with very little problems. The only bug I ran into was when I activate the route button. I have to wiggle the plane in order for it to respond. Other than that, the plane is amazing.
Can you do a video for the f35 ILS approach mode? Please.
I just made one!
Witam mam problem z f 35 po wystartowaniu autopilot dziala moge leciec według heding route ale jak tylko go wylacze zbocze z kursu pojawia sie problem autopilot niepowraca samolotu na heding i trase . Co robie zile
Thanks! This is a great, simple tutorial.
That’s so kind of you to say - I really appreciate the feedback :)
Thank you for the video! I wonder how to use the approach button. I also miss ILS indicators or some ILS markings to fly manually. Bad weather landings are impossible without ILS infomation. Is there a way to see infomations like those?
Love your videos! Is there anyway you could do a short video on how to engage nose wheel steering in the A variant? I cant taxi at all with it because I can only use the rudders. Thanks!
Do you have a video on auto pilot approach? If so could you post a link.
Could you give a little reference on the auto pilot approach mode?
Thank you. Very helpful.
My screen doesn’t have the value input on the screen for alt hold so I can’t put in a value, am I doing something wrong
Amazing tutorial but I'd like to ask can you put a flight plan into the aircraft? I normally fly airliners and I'm currently learning how to fly fighter jets
Hey there! Annoyingly, there's no way to do this from within the aircraft. To set up a flight plan, programme it on the world map menu (departure aircraft, destination airport, + any waypoints you want), and then the plan will appear in the aircraft once you hit Fly Now.
Anyone else found the vertical climb rate way too slow? Haven't found a way to adjust the vertical climb rate for the AP on the F-35.
At the moment the V/S can't be adjusted as far as I'm aware. Agreed, it feels a tad slow.
@@EasyMSFSTutorials Sadly you are right. I had this confirmed on IEF’s Facebook site not too long ago.
If you make a flight plan, how can you use the ap the right way?
Does it show you on the hud or somewhere on where to turn?
Once you have a flight plan made and you're in the air, ensure the route is selected and armed (use the CNTL button above the artificial horizon to cycle through the sources), and then hit RTE HOLD in the autopilot settings. I'll make a tutorial on this asap!

It just came to Xbox how do you apply the value once you have typed it in the box.
How would you rate the flight model realistically on a scale of 1-10 to the real life aircraft
Is there a way to set mach hold instead of speed hold?
nicely presented
Thank you so much :)
How do I fix my F-35A from banking left to right when I put on the auto pilot? Every time I turn on my auto pilot it starts to shake and bank left to right
Hi Brendan - when you switch on the AP, is heading select also on? If so, is the heading value set to your current heading?
does it autoland?
How do I change it from vor to gps?
Whenever I turn on the Autopilot my plane banks to the left.
Edit: I no longer have this issue, I must've been doing it wrong
i've had this and it happen recently but for me it was hen turning on heading capture (turned aggressive to left & dived?) - weird not sure what causing it atm?
Everything besides alt hold works why is this ?
Mine sits in a steep right bank the entire plan, it follows it, but in a bank, I can’t stop it
When i turn on ap to use alt hold the plane randomly turns.. can anyone help?
Do you also have HDG Hold engaged? If so, the plane will be turning to your set heading.
@@EasyMSFSTutorials no i do not and i still have the problem initially it goes straight but when i turn to fly at a different degree it goes back again without heading hold on
I play on the Xbox (can’t afford pc) they ain’t got this in the store sadly
Its out now on xbox😃
What is VOR HOLD?
This will slave the autopilot to a VOR frequency you have tuned in the radio page.
1. Auto heading doesn't work. 2. It is ZED not ZEE, you have the wrong accent!
It does work.. at least for me. Make sure the native autopilot is on in the menu page.
