What an interesting example of their behavior. Normally you would never see this animal. They could be right up on you and you would never know. She boldly walked out for you to see her. Giving her cubs time to move. Then she slowly moved off to see if you would follow. Stunning! Hope they can remain wild, free and healthy.
Classically these animals are very elusive, I think she was acting as diversion so her cubs could go hide. Once she was confident you were not a threat she went to find them. Such smart, beautiful amazing animals.
You are so lucky to see this gorgeous animal in the wild, she is of A1 beauty and a perfect mountain lion and the most beautiful cat i have seen in these videos
Great looking Cougar, Looks super healthy. Your very lucky to have seen her.Edit: Now I understand why you saw this Cougar your in Chile. This area is famous for it's Cougar sightings
What a majestic lady, thank you for sharing her with us. I live in Tucson, Arizona USA, and I'll never forget my first time seeing a wild cougar up close, shortly after moving there. I only saw him/her because he was running, and the movement caught my eye. He was very large, but loped with a fluid grace that was beautiful to behold. I was in awe being treated to the sight. His tan fur perfectly matched the dry terrain coloring, blending in to near invisibility. I was driving in a low density neighborhood, and I'd seen coyotes & javelinas strolling in midtown before, but nothing like this. Tucson is a sprawling metropolis, with major universities, industry, a military base, historical settlements, and diverse cultural amenities, with a million plus residents including the burbs. I'd heard that some wildlife were coming down into our high valley floor, 2400' elevation, because of a drought. Tucson is surrounded by five mountain ranges, called Sky Islands, the tallest at 9200' with a ski resort. A rare jaguar was filmed in the daytime, located on our city border to the south. Indeed, the large felines are mesmerizing to witness. We are surely blessed.
I visited Tucson for the 1st time a couple years ago. I remember seeing warning signs for mountain lions in the Sabino Canyon, but I didn't go hiking - just stayed on the tour road. When I was married in the 80's, early 90's, I had in-laws that lived in Tucson, but I never was out there until recently. I really enjoyed the Desert Museum, too.
we in southern Chile are very lucky to have one of the densest cougar populations in the Americas, very healthy populations because of the abundance of prey and lack of people!
The correct name is Felis concolor cougar. I have been involved with this species for six decades and find them highly intelligent, more social than given credit, and possessing a very high level communications system. I have an imprinted female who lives with us in the house with our domestic cats and has done so for 17 years now. rides in the corvette to the vets office and for rides but this trust took some learning for both and acceptance of that trust.
I respect tall of gods creatures but fuck these cats , they’ll rip your face off . We got them rolling through our neighborhood all the time, I suspect none of the decadent people in the comments have young kids or much common sense , this kind of naivety is what gets you hurt or worse . Fire is beautiful but it can seriously harm you if you don’t pay attention . We had a hiker killed here not too long ago by cougar and young girl seriously injured . We are not lucky to have them they are a burden and one more stressor to deal with while hiking and at work when I’m alone in the dark.
Thats easily the prettiest mountain lion ive ever seen

Leslie Caudill Cubs? Didn't see any.
Description; "she stands her ground while two nearby cubs move off."

She is so beautiful. A magical, mystical moment.
pretty sure he meant mystical@Jess Awake320
She ???
She is beautiful but certainly not to be taken for granted. The size of her paws are amazing. Very beautiful predator.
Those radar ears are focused on you, even when she turns away. She senses your every move, knows where you are in every moment.
True, I've noticed that her ears were pointing towards the camera (human) all the time, so magnificent.
Beautiful cat
Beautiful specimen! Obviously a little nervous about the cameraman's presence but also clearly intending him no harm. Wow lucky Dan!
She was so calm.
She's beautiful thank you for the video.

Wow! What a beautiful, healthy animal. Don't turn your back on her...
@Blood Beryl that was a little unnecessary, wouldn't you say? Rude and aggressive person, aren't you?
@Pray ForMe Agreed.
What a beautiful cat and experience!
She's a beauty.
Beautiful Cat, I am pretty sure at first she was sizing up the person taking this video. It appears that she said, humans? Not a good idea. See ya..!
most all land animals are afraid of humans. Most will do the flight or fight response very quickly if you're too close.
That cat loves the camera!
You are fortunate to have the experience with this beautiful cat!
Beautiful. Right on for the video.

Walk within 5 feet of it then tell me how adorable it is. Assuming you live to talk about it...
All cats are adorable 😍
Beautiful but deadly. sometimes you don't see them until it is too late.
Where are the cubs you guys speak of?
Where was this filmed? It's a very unique looking cougar.
It was taken in Torres del Paine, Chile
Sounds like it was filmed in a hurricane
Dan_and_Dani Free dont tell themmm, they are hunter. rip puma. hopefully nike and adidas survive
Torres del Paine, Chile is well known for it's Cougars
She is light colored tawny... Costa Rica has this type of coloring for their cat, I believe South America? In Texas they are darker and leaner looking
Sounds like southeastern Wyoming with all that wind.
S.America?
My wife said darn people and there camera LOL. She clearly did not have any worry about you stay safe .
Wow so majestic
So beautiful, I wish I could pet her. But I would have 4 monster teeth in my neck before I realise it. :(
Where was this taken?
Good capture
Good video. You should of tried to pet her. May have made it even more interesting.☺
"yeah I'm just decided whether I should eat you or not..meh fuck it"
In view of the abundance of deer, these splendid predators should be restocked in the eastern forests.
Beautiful animal
There are many videos here on RUclips of 'stalking' behavior, and most are like this one. Of course it's not stalking!
Big kitty.
Pure muscle
Georgous creature but oh no fuck that. I wouldn't have been able to keep my nerve.
Amazing!
Call it a fuckin mountain lion for christ sake
You can disregard I read another comment and reply.

You could have made friends with her by giving her a sandwich. Tuna with mayo is best.
