Did tourmaline take away jades memories of being a fusion, if so why Details I noticed: The gems on jades shoulders are colored slightly differently, the difference is consistent throughout episode one and two, I’m not sure if this means something. Are they the same kind of gem? Maybe two different but similar gems? Or maybe two halves of a gem? When jade pulls out her weapon, she pulls it out of the gem on her right shoulder. She doesn’t pull out two weapons and combine them like we see in Steven universe. Does her other gem not have a weapon? Or she just doesn’t know that her other gem could have another weapon? I was rewatching episode one and at some point jade says “oh no, tourmaline’s deflating” and calcite reassures her that tourmaline can’t deflate, but what does she mean by deflating? I think jade is referring to defusing, maybe there were some close calls in the past where jade almost defused but held together and that’s what she means by deflating
Hmmm that acctually makes sense maybe something terrible happend to jade and they begged tourmaline to take it all away, turning her into the tall goofball we know today
It’s great seeing the flaws of each character! Tourmaline’s lack of emotional stability (possibly from absorbing too much emotional memories that hers manifested into colors. Calcite’s insecurities and desire for control. The way she gets embarrassed and then feels ashamed that her only tool is a Looking Glass and having Tourmaline laugh at her must’ve hit like a deep wound. She also oversteps boundaries and reenforces her own, having a “Mother knows Best” policy. Jade has little to no impulse control. Screaming wildly and jumping thousands of miles to land on her own scythe, without caring about any of the consequences. She unintentionally triggers the others from time to time as well. Great writing all around! Cannot wait for episode 3!

yeah that third one is my personal theory! or maybe even after fusing she was shattered into 2 pieces, but via fusion shenanigans was put together sorta! (Another gem fused with each broken piece, but then unfused with the result)

I am amazed with the dedication and patience it took when working on this!! Knowing this was mostly a few people running this show is beyond impressive, both the story, the VA's, and the artwork in this show was outstanding. Congrats on those who take part in this show and congrats on finally completing episode 2 after all this time, it must be a huge achievement for you. I can't wait to see what you guys do next, well done.
I agree, Steven Universe also did an insanely bad job with Future's dealing of mental health and the whole "hugging" bit at the end was pretty bad. This on the other hand does pretty great with dealing with these topics so far. Regardless of how important Steven Universe was to me, I'm enjoying Division so far a lot more than I did with SU.
I feel like there are some hidden backstorys to each of the gems that should be broken down looks like I’ll have to do a flim theory on this but this was worth the wait and I remember the first episode was good but this is great

Aside from the audio for Lily, the voice acting was awesome, especially for BBYam with the singing! I can't believe you touched on the Gem roles and lore in this episode, it's super satisfying to learn the context for the three gems. Pretty surprised by Calcite's behavior in this, but still love her to death (gg KittenSneeze!). So glad I caught the premiere, and I'll happily wait for Episode 3! Just don't be like Valve and never reach a third iteration lol. Again, awesome work!
The trio's jobs back on Homeworld: Tourmaline = Therapist Calcite = Spy/Tracker cuz of the looking glass but she a pacifist Jade = ???(She's a fusion and we don't what the two gems that make Jade are so I'll leave a blank) Also, what Jade was watching at the start looked like that Calcite steals money from banks so that she could afford stuff from the house as "The Masked Maiden"
I just realized, Calcite must've been part of White Dimond's court. And seeing how controlling she was being, made her see how much her former Dimond rubbed off on her. She look absolutely horrified.
I think the Masked Maiden who was on TV was Calcite herself. Since they both have white hair, the same skintone, and if you listen carefully, her voice too (plus since her hair is covering her right eye, maybe that's because since Calcite has a gem on there she didn't want to get any suspicion with people knowing it's her.) Though this is just only a theory. Could just be another gem like her Edit: GUYS. I SAW KITTENSNEEZE POST A DIVISION ANIMATIC WITH CALCITE AND I THINK I'M RIGHT- There's a scene where she puts on the same mask and they actually both look identical. I honestly think that black would fit better with a stronger enotion relating to saddness and anger combined, i'll have to do more reasearch to know for sure though

This was amazing! Even the cartoons classics of teaching a lesson and "fixing" a character's problem in 1 episode. I feel like this last one is kind of problematic, cuz watchers might feel like they're not healing fast enough themselves (talking from experience), but I guess it won't be that easy either when we'll get to Tourmaline working, looking forward to it!
I found this series by pure chance and despite having two chapters and a mini chapter it has become one of my favorite fan series, it's a pity that a new chapter hasn't come out after a year but it is understood that making a series is not It's totally easy, I just hope this series doesn't get canceled because it has a lot of potential.
I'm not even thirty seconds in yet and I'm already in love with this. The characters, the voices, the theme; it's all so good! I do wonder, though; can we expect Steven and the Crystal Gems to visit them

I discovered Division today, didn't know what to expect from a fan-made series at first but I'm not disappointed at all! There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already, but I'll try nonetheless ;) I like the way you draw the characters, it's loyal to the source material yet unique in it's own way. Nice hands by the way ;). Even with limited animation the movement and expressions in the keyframes are just enough to get the idea across and look appealing. Kudos for that! You know a story is good when it hooks you in after the first episode. There's many questions in my head and I need answers. I admire your passion project and I'm exited to see more! I have a theory regarding this episode and the possible backstory behind the gem we keep seeing in Tourmaline's room. During the elephant, scene Tourmaline seemed to go into a panic attack as if she was reliving a flashback. It was not a normal reaction that she usually has and Calcite mentioning they have been living there for 1000 years makes me wonder if they cannot remember a few things. Hear me out just a bit. Theory time: my theory is that the elephant scene was more of a flashback or hint towards how that bubbled gem got to be bubbled. If we follow the original SU story, then that gem could've somehow get corrupted and Tourmaline had to finish the job before she ended them. Jade mentioning they are special when we can see they have two gems might be Tourmaline's doing too. I wonder if Jade had separated once and one of the two gems got severely hurt to the point of almost being shattered and their last wish apart was for Tourmaline to erase that side of them once fused so they could exist and die as one being. I think all of this could be a linked event too. Perhaps Tourmaline and the bubbled gem were present when the corruption happened or Tourmaline was secretly friends with that gem and the gem ended attacking jade and calcite. They do not seem to know about the bubbled gem at all and I think that after the attack happened Tourmaline had to erase everyone's memories from that event and make sure they will never be reminded of such a traumatic experience or even a full-on mental reset that Tourmaline had to accept full responsibility of and be forced to be the only one remembering what happened. Her blue colors might even be a reflection of that too. We see her mentioning "ten thousand panic attacks" when she spoke about her emotional overdrive and I wonder if that got her to reset to the blue color we can see her now as. That blue color might even be linked to the bubble gem yet again. I think Tourmaline got to keep her blue color from the sync she might unwillingly do with that bubbled gem. We can see her singing something to them and be terrified of the reply or maybe scared but what if until then she only got emotions as a reply from each try to reach the bubbled gem and her color reflected that? Endless sadness. I can NOT wait to see where this series is going! I am so loving it!! Great job to all of the people involved in this project!

My theory is Calcite is the thief from the news broadcast. The thief's hair is covering the eye where Calcite's gem is and the thief the the same color as Calcite.
Very cool episode! So many answers and even more questions! I thought Jade was a fusion but now? I'm not sure. How is it possible for a fusion to forget that she's a fusion? I thought Jade might be instead a repaired shattered gem, but her gems don't look cracked. Maybe a new type of off-colour? And I love that Tourmaline's power parallels with genuine life tourmaline being used in meditation
I still believe jade is a fusion if you'll remember tourmaline said she can take away emotional pain and sadness, so maybe something happend that made jade beg tourmaline to take it all away (pretty dark i know but its still very possible) turning jade into the tall loveable goofball we know today

I have been looking all over for this, ever since the first episode, for some reason I couldn’t find this anywhere. So happy you’re still making this series. I really love these characters and the first episode really hooked me, glad to see that intrigue was well deserved.
I hope this continues to be worked on I really do love the characters and the interesting lore to the story. Over all it's a great fan series and I hope it gets finished
Oh.. Oh no. I just realized something.. The Fletcher guy most likely killed the elephants.. It's probably gonna take a few more episodes, (maybe even getting to see him next episode) but I wanna see Tourmaline's reaction when we get to see him in person/confront him. I can't wait to see the gang try to figure out why the elephants are gone!

I discovered Division today, didn't know what to expect from a fan-made series at first but I'm not disappointed at all! There's not much I can say that hasn't been said already, but I'll try nonetheless ;)
I like the way you draw the characters, it's loyal to the source material yet unique in it's own way. Nice hands by the way ;). Even with limited animation the movement and expressions in the keyframes are just enough to get the idea across and look appealing. Kudos for that!
You know a story is good when it hooks you in after the first episode. There's many questions in my head and I need answers. I admire your passion project and I'm exited to see more! There's definitely potential and room for character development.

I have a theory regarding this episode and the possible backstory behind the gem we keep seeing in Tourmaline's room.
During the elephant, scene Tourmaline seemed to go into a panic attack as if she was reliving a flashback. It was not a normal reaction that she usually has and Calcite mentioning they have been living there for 1000 years makes me wonder if they cannot remember a few things. Hear me out just a bit.
Theory time: my theory is that the elephant scene was more of a flashback or hint towards how that bubbled gem got to be bubbled. If we follow the original SU story, then that gem could've somehow get corrupted and Tourmaline had to finish the job before she ended them. Jade mentioning they are special when we can see they have two gems might be Tourmaline's doing too. I wonder if Jade had separated once and one of the two gems got severely hurt to the point of almost being shattered and their last wish apart was for Tourmaline to erase that side of them once fused so they could exist and die as one being.
I think all of this could be a linked event too. Perhaps Tourmaline and the bubbled gem were present when the corruption happened or Tourmaline was secretly friends with that gem and the gem ended attacking jade and calcite. They do not seem to know about the bubbled gem at all and I think that after the attack happened Tourmaline had to erase everyone's memories from that event and make sure they will never be reminded of such a traumatic experience or even a full-on mental reset that Tourmaline had to accept full responsibility of and be forced to be the only one remembering what happened. Her blue colors might even be a reflection of that too. We see her mentioning "ten thousand panic attacks" when she spoke about her emotional overdrive and I wonder if that got her to reset to the blue color we can see her now as. That blue color might even be linked to the bubble gem yet again. I think Tourmaline got to keep her blue color from the sync she might unwillingly do with that bubbled gem. We can see her singing something to them and be terrified of the reply or maybe scared but what if until then she only got emotions as a reply from each try to reach the bubbled gem and her color reflected that? Endless sadness.
I can NOT wait to see where this series is going! I am so loving it!! Great job to all of the people involved in this project!

I thought Jade was a fusion but now? I'm not sure. How is it possible for a fusion to forget that she's a fusion? I thought Jade might be instead a repaired shattered gem, but her gems don't look cracked. Maybe a new type of off-colour?
And I love that Tourmaline's power parallels with genuine life tourmaline being used in meditation
I still believe jade is a fusion if you'll remember tourmaline said she can take away emotional pain and sadness, so maybe something happend that made jade beg tourmaline to take it all away (pretty dark i know but its still very possible) turning jade into the tall loveable goofball we know today

I love these characters. I relate to them so much. I have my own set of problems, but this really helps.
Ok so from what I understand
Blue is base or maybe sad if that's true that's depressing
Red is anger
Yellow is happy
Purple is fear
Pink is flustered
green is grossed
Orange is curiosity
Black is a more intense anger and sadness combined
And white is calm
Did I miss any
i believe Orange was Curiosity, it happened while they were watching the documentary. it may not have looked orange tho, as it was dark.

I hope this continues to be worked on I really do love the characters and the interesting lore to the story. Over all it's a great fan series and I hope it gets finished
