I’m 58 so Foreigner was part of the soundtrack. They weren’t my favorite but I knew all the hits of course. They were a hit machine. But even though their music was very middle of the road rock & roll, Lou Gram was a monster vocalist. One of the greats.
It warms my heart to see him belting out these songs as a survivor. Not just of a brain tumor, but he also survived the greed and betrayal of Mick and put the fans ahead of his personal pain. Now that’s a man to admire.

Lou is one of my all time rock singers. Incredible how he still sings those high notes at his age and after such a serious illness. Yes he isn't always perfectly in tune, but it's him, the original and irreplaceable Lou.

It was also sad that Mick kept Lou from coming back for far too long. I realize they were probably both stubborn but I think based on all I’ve read over the years, that Mick had a serious control problem. It’s clear Lou can still sing these songs. I take nothing away from Kelly but these were Lou’s songs and in the end Kelly was just singing covers in a tribute band featuring Mick Jones.

I've shied away from a lot of the recent videos with Lou Gramm in them, because I just "knew" that he couldn't possibly be able to do what he did in the '70s and '80s and I preferred to remember him that way. Obviously, I was wrong and I am so glad of that. Louis Grammatico, Jr.'s voice is clearly some kind of superpower!

Saw them in 1978 when I was in the service when they played at Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. It sticks out in my mind because Head Knocker is my favorite Foreigner tune, and I didn't think they were going to play it. It was the last song that they played during the encore. I was a very happy Marine! 🤘

Bless Lou Gramm! Foreigner never would've been as great without him. I've always said the two best pure talented vocalists in rock music are Paul Rodgers and Lou Gramm. There are lots of greats, but none match those two.
