A very simple answer would be: speed. Football nowadays is played at a considerable higher speed than in the '70s, but apart from that I am at a loss why you include Robben in this list -if you have watched the Euro's Luka Modric would have been a much more understanding comparison. Ronaldo ultimately showed that he is not a game-changer like Iniesta or Messi. And Iniesta showed that dribbling is not the most important bit in a teamsport.

Literally 80% of the players in the brazilian and argentine leagues were clearly better than the players in european leagues up until the mid 90s... still people kind of ignore it assuming today's context where their best players leave and each year at earlier ages (and still personally I rank the brazilian league as the sixth best league in the world and the argrntine as the ninth) is what has always been like even though a simples research will tell you until 2006 im every single world cup brazil has at least 55% of their squad playing im Brazil including the last ones they won.

Jairzinho only played on the right in 1970. At Botafogo, he never played in that position. It was shirt 10, played in the same position as Pelé. The same in relation to Rivelino, who was never left-winger at Corinthians, only in 1970 in the "Seleção". And Tostão was never center-forward in Cruzeiro too, only in the "Seleção". A very simple answer would be: speed. Football nowadays is played at a considerable higher speed than in the '70s, but apart from that I am at a loss why you include Robben in this list -if you have watched the Euro's Luka Modric would have been a much more understanding comparison.

Eu concordo. Copa de 58 foi do Pelé, 62 do Garrincha e 70 do Jairzinho. O Rei e o Furacão tiverem uma primeira fase semelhante, porém o poder decisivo de Jairzinho nos mata mata contra Uruguai e Peru se não me engano, pesaram... Sendo que na final os 2 fizeram gols. Sem babação.

Cara, o que Pelé fez nessa Copa foi incomparável. Jogadas antológicas que vão ser lembradas sempre que o futebol existir. O chute do meio-campo, a cabeçada da defesa do Banks, o drible de corpo no Mazurkievski, o chute de rebote no tiro de meta do goleiro, fora os gols e assistências.
