Just got mine and installed my first keg. When you look at the price, you buy 3 and get 1 free, then get £5 back per keg, after doing the maths, that works out about the same as you would pay at the supermarket. Brewdog IPA at Tesco is £2.75 a pint if you buy the small 4pack cans @ £5.50 and about £4.50 - £5 a pint in any pub. Buy 4 kegs, get 20% discount and then £20 back for your empties and it works out at £2.33 a pint. Very reasonable I think.
@@CurvedSlightly good question. I tend to drink a full keg over the weekend then turn the machine off until next weekend, therefore minimising running costs. Fair point though, no idea what it costs to run but it cant be much.
@@escapethematrix5069 its not much if the power of the machine is a round 65-75 watts and lets say you only have it on 48 hours a week you then do this equation the hours per week X the average price for electricity per kilowatt hour (22.6p) then divide that answer by 1000 to reach watts then times that answer by 70 for the actual wattage of the machine total cost for the machine each week should be 69p-70p unless you live in a cheaper region of the uk or if u live in europe its probably half that price as its 16p per kwh over there. hope that helps 👍
If the customer service was bad then it seems they have learned their lesson. Daughters bought a machine for my birthday. It arrived the next day. I ordered 3 further kegs which arrived today. Emails from the company straight away to advise of the progress. Also taking out a subscription (without factoring in returns) and a pint of Stella is £2.16 - can’t argue with that
Bought machine from Costco 5 days ago and ordered first 3 kegs from Beer Hawk the same day. Kegs arrived two days later. First keg now finished and loaded second. Fabulous. I think this is the machine to buy if you like proper draught German beer and IPA's. You seem to be happy buying supermarket bottled beer so best not to review it if you cant afford it.
Aways rinse you glass in cold water. If you dont and it had been cleaned in a dish water it spoils the pint. Also, never touch the tip of the spout to the glass. Pour it, free flowing and move the glass from 45 to vertical as the liquid reaches the top.
I've been with beer hawk from over 2 years now, never had a problem I would recommend them to anyone fantastic beers and if there a problem their customer services get its sorted asap!!
Glad you've had a decent experience. I had the worst experience I've had out of any online store. Absolutely disgusting service. I held back a lot on this review because it would've taken too much time up on the video and it wasn't about Beer Hawk but about the Perfect Draft machine. I wouldn't buy one myself, simply because I'd have to deal with them again if I did.
Good firm push down with both palms on top of each other, try to avoid touching the blue bits. You should hear an affirming click. Also ensure kegs have been sat still before putting on, they don't like to be thrown about. Hope that helps.
I just got one of these and I get massive heads on my pints. I am angling the glass and giving it full throttle on the handle and yet I still get a lot of froth. Any suggestions?
Which beers are you buying? I'd suggest ensuring the keg has been sat still for a couple of days before gently setting it in the machine. Some beers are worse for it than others. I have one myself now.
Had 2 different ones of these. All they do is froth, pint after pint. Nucleated glasses, super chilled, they're crap! I'll stick to the more reliable cans.
U might already have the answers but yeah u can switch on and off as regular as u like. There should be very limited noise, mybe once every few hours, sometimes not at all. U will get a slight noise as u pour a pint for a few seconds. Hope this helps.
Got one from Beer Hark £199 Two weeks ago, £30+ for the kegs, but a £5 token when you send them back so around £2.70 a pint, it will do me until the pubs are back to normal.
Join the Facebook group and you get 15% discount on 3+ kegs works out around 1.90per pint of Stella etc once you get the keg return and beer tokens back !
Have you read the manual before making this video? Probably not, because you omitted some important steps. Also, in the tap unit installation, you have mixed up the sequence. Your posh accent is not a substitute for being a professional. This is food&beverage department, not following the rules may become a health issue.
I have to admit I was of the same opinion. I was bought one for Xmas last year though and have to say I love it. Its certainly the best way to drink beer at home. I particularly like the Hawkstone Lager you can get on it now, great beer. Since I did this review a couple of years ago now things have improved a lot at Beer Hawk (now just called Perfect Draft), service is good and the selection of beers has improved a lot. It is expensive at around £3/pint on average but if you're just having a couple a week as a treat Its a great product and doesn't break the bank. Cost of the machines has fallen now too, start at 169 with a keg. Thanks for watching the video.
Bartender here. The trick to a good pint is a 40-45° angle and pull the lever down quickly to ensure you're not pouring pure head, hope this helps :)
So you can fill the glass with more CO2 than beer? "£7.50, please... crisps too?"
eh? @@CurvedSlightly

Lovely bit of home kit am well overdue getting one of these. Perfect for the summer.

My experience with Beer Hawk customer services has been fantastic.
Thanks mate! Saved me a tonne of time on christmas eve setting this up! Thanks again
Many many thanks! Perfect video for quick understanding. Very helpful!
I use Beerhawk all the time and they have always been excellent
Thanks for the great instructions mate, much appreciated, new keg in the fridge cooling as I watched this ... lockdown treat complete ...🍺
Can I put a keg in the fridge on its side? Thank you.

Tom you have just saved me £30. Was going to buy machine from beer hawk and checked Costco and it's £30 cheaper. Top man, thanks 👍
Watched quite a few of these revues now and not one has pulled a perfect pint usually frothy and well short of the pint.

Great review just need to learn how to pour a pint
Thank for you’re honest opinion
Can I store the keg in the fridge on its side? Thank you.
Just got my first one and when installing the tap onto the keg it keeps spraying beer everywhere, any tips?

Hi mate what height is that machine? Seen on another review that it was 38cm,I thought it was taller.
Cheers

Great review. Need it!
Great instructions!
My one is making a noise every few minutes …
Any insight ?
Normal as long as its not continuous, like every few minutes for hours. Try making sure the grey top is pushed down properly and blue clips engaged.
When I change to a new keg I experienced some buzzing sounds every couple of hours until I draft a few pints… I wonder if this is normal…
My son has one, and his does the same thing buzzes throughout the night. Came here to see if it was normal lol x
That’s not a bad price for a decent pint 🍺
can u use a 5lt keg in this please
Hi. Is there a way of getting in the keg without the machine? Thank you
Should cost £2per pint because I’m pouring myself…what’s the bar price they get it?
Had 2 different ones of these. All they do is froth, pint after pint. Nucleated glasses, super chilled, they're crap! I'll stick to the more reliable cans.
Cheaper too.
Cheers bud 👍
Can I turn it off for a week and then back on Thursday night ready for Friday?
Dose it make that noise through the night if left on?

Where are you getting a pint for £3 in the uk 😂
Check the date of the upload 😳
Goes on and on about how good it is..
"Would i buy one: NO!"
Why why why!!??!!? What was the point 🤣
£3-£4 a pint?
I wish, nearly £6 here.
Bit cheaper up north
Watched a few videos regarding this product and every one seems to pour half a pint of froth, wtf
It will depend on how cold the beer is. And how they pour it. But generally speaking the head is a good thing as it keeps to beer lively underneath.
Customer service has got ten times better phoned me to let me know it os on it's way and made sure I got next day delivery.
10 pints last 30 days😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you are funny
Avoid as the only drinks available are brewed by the "queen" of beers company, Inbev
Preach
Lager is lager be it from a can, bottle or tap but draught ale is totally different.
Nonsense..lager from a tap is a different animal that cans or bottles well it is in Ireland but in the UK lager is piss

The more beer you drink the cheaper each pint becomes! 😓
Is that what you tell the wife? 😂

Terrible instructions. Always wash the tap out in warm water and make sure the O ring is wet before attaching to the keg.
So you just made the video for money?
