I've only watched the first 2 mins and YES baldy that is me. I am looking to buy one, I'm looking at all other beer machines and I am looking to see if I would get much use out of one. So this video is going to be right up my street. Thank you 👍
I have had the perfect draft for 2 weeks, went through 4 kegs, family love the beer selection. I would highly recommend this machine. Great temperature and a good selection of beer. Lagers, Ipa's, dark beers, real ales. A great selection to be had
Bought my last Aug/Sept but my bar was finished till november so I've had it for, what 8 months. I have tried virtually all the sub 6% stuff and can attest that it has been a fantastic purchase. The one negative, which I can suppose greed can be attributed as a factor. Is that in that time I have purchased 39 kegs at a cost of £1100 (when adjusted for Keg returns, points etc). Having so many euro options, on tap is a very seductive thing, so this needs to be taken into account when purchasing as you will be tempted to sample the 'whole ' menu', and if u have a party now, its easy to be the man/woman with the bar with the 'draught' and those kegs won't last long (something to consider) at a party of drinkers (I've had 4 go at a party which set me back £160). I tend to keep this bad boy now for my own personal recreation. It Is a GREAT investment, however its not an inexpensive 9ne and it cna run costly if you let it 👍
@@fionnmaccumhaill1023 go to beerhawk, register an account and order from there. You get £5 beer tokens when you send an empty keg back, minimum of three I think and it's free pickup. So £5 off your next keg
My wife got me it for our 1st anniversary this week and it's truly amazing, I love my german beers and in Scotland you cant get spaten and lowenbrau on tap in a lot of places, so now I can get it in my kitchen

New subscriber , ive just ordered one this morning, thanks for the excellent reviews, very funny and keep them coming, ive joined the Facebook community you said about in one of your other videos 👍👍👍👍👍
weve owned it for 5 days, gone through 3 kegs. First keg, (hasseröder) was lovely, second keg (spaten) something felt off. Mainly the carbonation, very slow moving carbonation, and not much carbonation, beer felt half flat after 15 minutes. Third keg (franziskaner wiessbier) was lovely, great carbonation lovely taste and it was fresh. Just ordered a Löwenbrau, another hasseröder and a jupiler. Hoping for non flat beer...
In the process of choosing what draft machine to buy and this video is making me sway to the perfect draft machine. Iv also seen they have a perfect draft pro out now so maybe that's an option. Only down side is the miss is allergic to oats/yeast so a cider option would be needed. Maybe get a blade in the future just for the dark fruit 🤔
I think there's a great selection on the PerfectDraft, but for cider you would need to look at the blade, or the sub compact depending on the size of machine/kegs you want. Good luck with your decision! Sure you'll enjoy whatever you get! 👍🍻
@@pietfree160 it was only released on beta so far so only a few people managed to get hold of one. They will hopefully be releasing more pro versions soon!
I have a Sub. I fancy one of these too, so I have 2 different beers on the go! Problem is there is no room left to put them together. The other slight problem is it makes me drink more! Can barely walk past it without wanting a small pour. One thing to mention. These products (well the sub anyway, assume same here) give you beer better even than pubs beer in many cases. If I buy a Moretti for the sub - it is direct from the brewery in Italy. It is the real deal - the original. You buy a pint of Moretti in a pub here and it is brewed under licence and it a completely different product.
Just ordered the original PD. £179 for the hawkstone starter bundle, and £60 for a keg of leffe blonde and Franziskaner. Hope these are strong choices 😅 Prefer the look of the blade, but the price, variety of beer and cheaper per pint keg costs (once you factor in the £5 per keg and beer tokens) won me over. The dimensions are better for an office/kitchen too, the blade is better for a garden/dedicated pub. Thanks for your videos.
This is a great video. Informative and funny. I've currently got a Krups SUB but thinking about maybe getting a PerfectDraft because of how quickly I'm blasting through kegs
Liked and subscribed. Perfect review (also watched first one when you were setting it up). 6 months on and you are still loving it. Good enough for me. Now just got to convince wife we need it and that it will fit perfectly in her new kitchen 🤞👍
I wanted one of these but when you work out the price of the kegs and how much 1 pints cost it’s works out alot more expensive to just buying cans of beer from the shop, I do like the idea of it though!
The price has gone up recently. It is worth taking into account the discount you can get on kegs (especially mix and match ones) and the keg return tokens (£5). It's still more than cans, but in my opinion it does taste better and it's a great item to have at home. Admittedly now though, it is becoming more of a luxury item 👍🍻
Great product and great reviews but gotta say beerhawk use Yodel delivery which is an absolute nightmare. Have to order 2 weeks in advance to make sure you get kegs before you run out. Tempted to spend the extra money and order from Amazon just to guarantee delivery in a reasonable time.
Thanks! Think it depends on your yodel delivery driver a lot. Mines great so I've never had any issues. Amazon sometimes do have offers on which make it worth it, especially if you're a prime member! Like you say, best bet is to ensure you've got some in stock! Might be harder when we're eventually allowed to have people round again! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews Yep definitely agree with you there, and it is well worth the wait when you sup that first one. I've just combined a pint of Jupiler with one of those extra hot black pepperami sticks. 🤤👌
I had a Klairstein SKAL (which takes the normal 5L kegs you get in the supermarkets) but had to return it because there was a leak in the gas tube. Just been told it would be at least 3 months till the manufactures will have anymore available so I’m thinking of going for this instead. Thanks for the review mate. Really helpful.
That sounds worth investigating more as there's some good 5L kegs in the supermarket. The PD kegs come with a new pipe each time and the connection is effortless so you'll be all good there. You won't be disappointed 🍻👍
My PD arrived today. Got the Stella bundle with the keg and 2 glasses. I’m not normally a fan of Stella but the deal was a good one. Got to say I’m already massively impressed. Tastes much better than I remember in the pub (remember those??? God they were good 🤣) and I’m defo gonna grab a couple more kegs.
Great stuff! I never really drank Stella much in the pub (🤣 ha! Yeah, remember those!) to be honest, but a lot of people say the keg is better! I enjoyed it! Enjoy! 👍🍻
Hi had mine about same time as you love the Stella Costco are selling them now for £220 my local last week had at least 20 for sale if anyone is looking to get one
I would not know the difference of any lager ,I just get drunk ,I only have two bottles a week now ( beer),and only drink when I know I can’t get anymore when I’m wanting to get blitzed
Yea because you drank the lot lol he'll 2 literally won't go far a 5 liter one won't last a 8 litre one won't last how about a 25 litee barrel with a separate cot holder and a barrel full of uncarbonated beverage like you get at pubs when the barrwla have to be gased
Klarstein machines make a lot more sense, it takes standard 5l kegs instead of these proprietary ones, so you aren't paying the an extra premium on the beer as you would be with the perfect draft kegs.
Cheers! eBay, Facebook marketplace and Amazon mostly. BeerHawk have today started doing some refill bundles of Goose IPA, Stella and Bud. They all.come with glasses. I really like my Goose glass! Top quality! Good luck! 👍🍻
Will certainly give it a go at some point. Enjoyed the Cali Pale from Tiny Rebel. Have to admit I did try a can of it and wasn't so keen, maybe a bit sweet for me. But I'd like to give the keg a go 👍🍻
Very Informative! Have you noticed any issues with storing your keg on its side in the fridge? Has it affected taste or carbonation etc? I'm looking at getting one, but can't fit a keg upright in the fridge.
Good and entertaining review. My questions are 1) what are the PerfectDraft kegs made of 2) are the beers stored in bags in the kegs like the BLADE and the SUB? 3) are the kegs reusable and if so how does one return the kegs?
Depends who you buy the kegs off. If it's Beerhawk then it's a case of using collect plus or Yodel. You stick your QR codes on, pop a returns slip in that you print from their website and then put them in a box and send them back. I've never bought kegs from a shop, but I believe shops that do sell them just take back your empty kegs and you get money off your next purchase 👍
Vocation life and death would be one of the best IPAs and then Goose Island for me. If you want it a bit fruitier still, go for hop skip and juice or clwb tropica! Enjoy! 👍🍻
Is there a way of stopping the machine been Able to dispense beer while still switched on keeping a keg cool? Mines going on side in utility (only place I’m allowed it apparently), I don’t want one of kids walking past and pulling the handle. Does the handle unscrew?
Enjoy watching your videos ! Wife’s just bought me one , do you leave it on all the time or can I take the keg out, Put in the fridge until I want to use it again ? I know it need to be used within 30 days (not Much chance of that ! )
I think the beers are slightly overpriced though. I understand you get £5 back when you return the PerfectDraft keg but that's a lot of faff and you still end up paying for an overpriced beer. You're looking at £2.50 - £3.50 per pint with the PerfectDraft, but the Blade is more in the region of £1.50 - £2.50 per pint. I've swapped from PerfectDraft to Blade because I feel much happier about offering guests pints at £1 less each glass. If you have lots of guests around often then I wouldn't recommend PerfectDraft. Plus the build quality is even better on the Blade and looks beautiful on the counter.
It's certainly a good alternative, I'll get a blade one day 👍 The only thing that puts me off a blade is the variety of beers. I really like some of the IPAs on the PD. There's 10 different kegs on the blade whereas there's 48 on the PD. That said, I know people that only ever buy one or two different types. So if that's the case and you like something on the blade, it is a good choice. Whichever suits best I guess 👍🍻
I only have one question..... the kegs prices range from about £29-£41 ... which is roughly £2.80 - £3.80 per pint. Bearing in mind that that's about 2-3 times the price of an equivalent size can or bottle, can you say that the difference is so great, that paying upto triple the price for your beer, is really worth it?. I'm curious.
Good question! If you check out my cost comparison video you'll see what I think. It's in my PerfectDraft playlist. For a quick answer, I would say you can't compare to a can or bottle. You need to compare to draft beer from the pub. Also, high ABV beers, like a Kwak, cost a lot more, hence the high price of keg. Compare those to pub prices for the same beer the cost of the PerfectDraft is considerably better 👍🍻
Thanks, I'll check out the other vid. In a pub, you're paying for the building you're drinking in... rent, heating, business rates, staff wages etc etc that's why the prices are so high for a beer. With this, the price is high without these costs to amortize, so comparing supermarket costs seems fair..... So for me, the question is still "Is the quality that much better, to justify triple the price?". I'm sure it's a nice drink, but to be honest, the pricing structure is killing it for me. £15 a keg and it would make alot more sense...... naturally in my opinion only.
I agree and I love a pint in a pub! I'd trade the PerfectDraft in rather than have my local close! At the moment though, that's not so accessible. Personally, I think the difference is enough to pay the extra compared to bottles and cans. But that's down to the individual like you say. If price is the top concern, maybe PerfectDraft isn't for you. If cost was always the top priority then luxury brands would never exist. I'd rather drive down the road in a Maserati than a Mazda. They would both get me from A to B, but one would do it in a bit more comfort 😉 (unfortunately for me... I own a Mazda! 😂) Either way, if you're happy with what your drinking, enjoy! 👍🍻
Thanks for the reply, although your Mazda Maserati example, is comparing 2 different things, rather than the same item. Comparing Apples to Apples is the point.... there are always people who pay crazy money for the prestige of a brand etc and I say good luck to them. Anyway, like you say, it's a personal preference and I'm in no way judging anyone, but It's like Apple computers etc, if people buy their products at inflated prices, then they will sell them at inflated prices. Anyway, thanks for the chat, it was very useful and enjoy!.
You're right, that was an extreme example 😂 Maybe compare a ford fiesta to a ford Mustang 😉 The beer that goes into bottles or cans is not the same as what goes into kegs. Cracking chat! 👍🍻
Thanks James. No, it should pressurise for a while when you first load it, then only now and again and when you're pouring your drink. I should unload, refit the tap and then load again 👍
Nice review bud. How's the first pint out them? Mega froth? Also do you just go full whack with the puller or is there a nack to it? Had the sub but wasn't that impressed
First pint does have more of a head, maybe four fingers depending on the beer. Deffo full whack with the handle, right down and glass at 45. I struggle a bit with the half pints. But after the first pint with pint glasses the rest are pretty spot on to be fair! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews Cheers bud. Was just about to make the purchase but thought I'd check out these reviews first. Cheers for the extra info. Another good tip is to use a wet glass.
Certainly can Josh! Obviously the 30 day freshness clock is still running in the one you swap out, so best to write on it when you opened it. Also keep it in the fridge, as it will take a while again to get back to temperature when you pop it back in.
Capacity is better on the PD, but that depends on how much you want to drink I guess. There's some beers and ciders on the sub that have caught my eye to be honest. Both have a good range! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews cheers dude. Your reviews have tipped the balance, and we'll be ordering one of these machines and ordering some kegs using the code you provide, so expect some beer tokens. Thanks for an honest review, appreciate it.
Great decision! And thanks for the beer tokens if the code works. At the moment the machines are on sale and I think the code only works against full priced machines. Good luck though and enjoy when you get it! 👍🍻
Is it new or have you had it for a while? If you've had it a while, might be worth looking at cleaning the heatsink and fan, there's a video in my playlist. If it's new and the room is a normal temp then just check there's no ice on the metal plate or at the back of the machine. If that's all good and this happens with every keg, I'd contact beerhawk. Shouldn't be stuck at 5. Although, good for the new stout that's come out and some would say IPAs would taste better at 5 degrees! Hope that helps! 👍
They have a best before date on the keg. Usually 3-6 months from purchase. Then after that date they will still be fine to drink for a fair few months if they're unopened, but the "freshness" isn't guaranteed. 👍🍻
Looks like they are on pre-order. Just checked Aldi as well and they have sold out. Pre-order on Beerhawk is your best bet I should think. Costco also have them now and again if you have membership and you're close to one... Good luck fella! 👍🍻
7mins in, real truth dropped, you will spend more, and if your old, you will put on weight if you're not careful. It's a cracking machine though. Like this.
Yes a major draw back is price. Not worth the money in my opinion Sooner go to my local micro brewery and by 5 pints of real ale for . £10.00. And I'm supporting a local business.
Totally agree on the supporting of a local business and my local brewery is fantastic! That said, their 5l mini kegs are £27, so approx £3.30 a pint. Then there's delivery at another £3. PerfectDtaft kegs when you take into account discount, keg return refund and beer tokens can cost approx £2.50 a pint for an equivalent type beer (IPA in this case). Your £2 a pint is very reasonable though, so fair play! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews And just to add he has about eight beers. Obviously not all available at one time but he usually has two or three beers available a week And they are really nice. But one thing we have in common is we love Beer.
Bargain! Same price on Beerhawk as well. In fact, I would probably go for the Stella Life Artois starter bundle for the value if I was buying one today 👍🍻
To be honest,.it's a trade-off. I cut quite a bit out as I might repeat stuff. I also have an annoying habit of saying "ya know" or "errrr', so I cut that out. If I left that in, you would probably be annoyed by that, I know I would be 😂

@@BigBaldReviews Thanks! Very helpful
Also yes, there is a bag inside the keg. There's a video in my playlist of a keg being taken apart if you would like to see one in more detail.
Big Bald Reviews Thanks very much!
As you have had yours a while. What beers do you reckon I should get . I do like to drink IPAs
Vocation life and death would be one of the best IPAs and then Goose Island for me.
If you want it a bit fruitier still, go for hop skip and juice or clwb tropica! Enjoy! 👍🍻
Is there a way of stopping the machine been
Able to dispense beer while still switched on keeping a keg cool? Mines going on side in utility (only place I’m allowed it apparently), I don’t want one of kids walking past and pulling the handle. Does the handle unscrew?
Yes, just pull the handle up. You may need to give it a little wiggle as you do so, but it should come off easy enough 👍🍺
Enjoy watching your videos ! Wife’s just bought me one , do you leave it on all the time or can I take the keg out,
Put in the fridge until I want to use it again ? I know it need to be used within 30 days (not
Much chance of that ! )
Great review. :)
Thanks! 👍🍻
Can you put universal kegs in?
No, it has to be the PerfectDraft kegs 👍🍻
It's certainly a good alternative, I'll get a blade one day 👍
The only thing that puts me off a blade is the variety of beers. I really like some of the IPAs on the PD. There's 10 different kegs on the blade whereas there's 48 on the PD. That said, I know people that only ever buy one or two different types. So if that's the case and you like something on the blade, it is a good choice.
Whichever suits best I guess 👍🍻
Quality review
Cheers! 👍🍺
Either way, if you're happy with what your drinking, enjoy!
You're right, that was an extreme example 😂
Maybe compare a ford fiesta to a ford Mustang 😉
The beer that goes into bottles or cans is not the same as what goes into kegs.
Cracking chat! 👍🍻
Can i take a keg off b4 i finish it and try a different 1.
Yes fella! Just detach the handle and bang it on another keg. Keep the other one in the fridge, will be fine 👍🍻
I'm hoping BH have some Oktoberfest beers in next week, just waiting for my credits. Great video as always. It's a very dangerous machine !!!!
Hopefully mine are being delivered tomorrow! Hope you can get hold of some next week! Good luck! 👍🍻
The Oktoberfest beers are amazing, though they are a bit stronger 😂
3 kegs ordered today! looking forward to your reviews 👍
I just bought one
Nice one, enjoy! 👍🍻
Great video, watched this and just got mine today. Does yours pressurise every minute or so when you first put a keg in?
Thanks James.
No, it should pressurise for a while when you first load it, then only now and again and when you're pouring your drink.
I should unload, refit the tap and then load again 👍
@@BigBaldReviews must have been a faulty keg, just swapped to another one and that's fine. Kept doing it with the lowenbrau. Spaten it is instead 😃
Spaten's quality! Good it's not the machine 👍 enjoy! 🍻
So can you have a couple pints from one keg and swap in another then go back to the first one with this?
Certainly can Josh!
Obviously the 30 day freshness clock is still running in the one you swap out, so best to write on it when you opened it. Also keep it in the fridge, as it will take a while again to get back to temperature when you pop it back in.
@@BigBaldReviews that's quite a good feature, I've been considering upgrading from the sub
Capacity is better on the PD, but that depends on how much you want to drink I guess. There's some beers and ciders on the sub that have caught my eye to be honest. Both have a good range! 👍🍻
@@BigBaldReviews yeah there are a few really nice ones for the sub, just don't know if I can justify having both 😂
The lack of cider on PD could be your justification 😉
Great review.
How long is the best before date on an unopened keg?
It varies to be honest. Most of mine have had 3-4 months though 👍
Hi have you got the code I can’t find it anywhere
Sorry fella, beerhawk have stopped doing friend referral codes unfortunately
@@BigBaldReviews never mind thanks for relying great vids ,ours is turning up on Tuesday thanks again for reviews
mate, where did you get the chalkboard sign above the unit at the start of the video? btw. you're funny and love the beerhawk reviews!
Think it was just from one of those cheap gift shops at the seaside. There's a few on Amazon though.
Cheers! 👍🍻
Chalkboard? WTF?
My perfect draft is stuck on 5 degrees. It's got plenty of room around it so not sure why. Any suggestions?
Is it new or have you had it for a while? If you've had it a while, might be worth looking at cleaning the heatsink and fan, there's a video in my playlist.
If it's new and the room is a normal temp then just check there's no ice on the metal plate or at the back of the machine.
If that's all good and this happens with every keg, I'd contact beerhawk. Shouldn't be stuck at 5. Although, good for the new stout that's come out and some would say IPAs would taste better at 5 degrees!
Hope that helps! 👍
How long can beer keg store unopened
They have a best before date on the keg. Usually 3-6 months from purchase.
Then after that date they will still be fine to drink for a fair few months if they're unopened, but the "freshness" isn't guaranteed. 👍🍻
Hey do u have any links to get one?? I’ve been on beer hawk and they r out!!!
Looks like they are on pre-order.
Just checked Aldi as well and they have sold out.
Pre-order on Beerhawk is your best bet I should think.
Costco also have them now and again if you have membership and you're close to one...
Good luck fella! 👍🍻
dark fruits isn’t cider - it’s sugary pipe cleaner 😅
I've got a torp on the sub compact, so I'll have that in my head while tasting it! 😉🍻👍
is the refer code still available?
There should be one in the description, but at the moment they have a £50 code on the website which is a better saving to be fair 👍🍻
7mins in, real truth dropped, you will spend more, and if your old, you will put on weight if you're not careful. It's a cracking machine though. Like this.
True! 🍻
What’s the name to follow on the facebook cause there is a couple
PerfectDraft Keg Tips is a great group to follow.
Of course, you can also follow me, search for Big Bald Reviews 😉🍻👍
Do they deliver to the USA?
Sorry, not that I am aware of
luvya reviews..... very rickie gervais, love you gettin more n more pisshed as it goes on, soooo honest tho brill and thanksh
How much is the 6L beer in England ??
Depending on the keg it can range between £30-£40 most are around £32
Big Bald Reviews ok. Almost the same price In Germany. It’s a little more expensive than bottles but is ok I think
Great review. Thank you. Goose IPA...Mmmmmmmm
Love it 🤣
Sounds like guy Martin 👍👍👍👍
A lot less hair though 😉
like it in cider
Garth Marenghi lives
we got cider!!!!
It’s just the business !
Pure and simple! 🍻👍
Can i get that referral code lad?
No worries, if you message my Facebook page I'll send you it 🍻👍

Did you edit this when you were steaming 😂
Obviously not impressed with my editing skills then Barry! 🤣
Discount code is invalid
That's strange, has worked for others?
If you message me through my Facebook page can see if we can get it to work 👍
Yes a major draw back is price.
Not worth the money in my opinion
Sooner go to my local micro brewery and by 5 pints of real ale for .
@@BigBaldReviews
And just to add he has about eight beers.
Obviously not all available at one time but he usually has two or three beers available a week
And they are really nice.
But one thing we have in common is we love Beer.
Aldi £200 ..😃
Bargain!
Same price on Beerhawk as well. In fact, I would probably go for the Stella Life Artois starter bundle for the value if I was buying one today 👍🍻
This lad is half cut I'd say 🍻😂😂
Bet you dont get to talk when your wife's in the room - you like your own voice
That was honestly the hardest thing to watch , the editing triggered me.
Thanks for the feedback Michael. I've tried to cut down on the number of cuts in later videos. I'm starting to make less mistakes so that helps! 👍
Lol,it's ok. Review help me though.
Why do your videos jump and cut so much? I enjoy your videos but that is very off putting 🤔
To be honest,.it's a trade-off. I cut quite a bit out as I might repeat stuff. I also have an annoying habit of saying "ya know" or "errrr', so I cut that out. If I left that in, you would probably be annoyed by that, I know I would be 😂
@@BigBaldReviews Personally like it that way with the cuts, great video 👍
Cheers! 🍻
Big Bald Reviews I enjoy the way you edit the reviews, and love the way you make a statement or ask yourself a question but then correct yourself. Funny. Keep them coming.
Cheers Eddy! 👍🍻
Heineken Blade is better
Great review though
It does look a great machine. The build quality is meant to be great and the speed of chilling much better.
One day, hopefully I'll be reviewing my own Blade as well! 😉🍻
