I have both a 4 bar and a 2 bar on Whisper Wash Classics............on the Whisper Wash Classic two nozzle...I run (2) 25045 nozzles....on my Whisper Wash Classic four nozzle I run (2) 25025 Nozzles on the outside and (2) 2502 Nozzles on the inside, This works great with me running a 3500psi/8gpm machine.
This is one of the best videos that I have came across so far, I would like to know what size surface cleaner you were describing is it a 20 inch. Thanks and make more videos please !!!!!
Hey Thank You for the Video. Could you help me with my surface cleaner I have a Simpson Water Blaster 4400psi 4gpm belt drive unit and I have a 20” Simpson surface cleaner but when In use it lifts off the ground. What tips do you recommend I use so I don’t damage the concrete? Thank You

I have a 5.5 gallon per minute machine on an 18 horse Honda engine. I run 15025 on a two nozzle hammerhead. Works pretty good but it wish I had an 8 gallon setup
Perhaps the best informative video out there IMO. Quick question bud. I have a 2500 PSI 3.5GPM using 15" with 2 nozzles. I've currently got 25020's. Should I get 45020 for wider patten or should I go with the 15020 and decrease pattern a bit but get more cleaning power? Thanks again man. Well done.
Great info. Im just starting out . get alot of striping. my pressure washer is 4000 psi 4 gpm. would a larger diameter tip or wider spray help eliminate these?
I have a 3400 psi and 2.5 gpm pressure washer and I would like to know if 00100 would pull chem. I Jrod rated for 2-3 gpm for 23 dollars but I think knowing more about orifices sizes gives you more accurate results. Jrod is 00030, 00100, 25030, and 25100
Great advice. I just picked up a used surface cleaner and it isn't working worth a damn. I have a Home Depot 4100PSI / 4GPM and have used it with rental surface cleaners. I have never been totally happy with the performance of 3 different surface cleaners and now this used one. After watching your video I have a much better idea why. My dump is set very high right now trying to figure out what is going on, but it is dumping @ 4000 PSI. As soon as I pull the trigger on the surface cleaner it drops to under 2000PSI and moving way too slowly, it is leaving stripes. So from what I gather from your video, I SHOULD be around 2000PSI with the trigger pulled and 2 jets, but I am about to go our and find our what spray jets are in it and the height they are set. 2nd issue is, I think the bearing is going in the surface cleaner. It squeals. I'm wondering if it is running at too low of an RPM. It does spin, but damned if I can even come close to counting the revs. lol... So I am thinking the jets should be 40o20 or 25. I am a handicapped vet with a bad back. I have to also figure out how I can extend the handle and trigger so I am not bent over. I am 6'3" and have a fused back.
16 inch surface cleaner. 2.8 GPM. 3000 psi. 1 spray bar with 2 tips. What tips should I use? Residential use and my property. No commercial use. Current tips are 020. No other markings.
Great video help me out here after looking over the nozzle chart it shows that I should install a 2.5 nozzle my pressure washer is 2700 PSI with 2.3 GPM would be correct? I was thinking about running a 1.0 nozzle with only having 2.3 GPM pressure cleaner
My machine is rated 4GPM. Its 4400 psi. I believe the surface cleaner is coming with 2502 tips. That should produce 4000 psi. 25025 should be about 3000. I want to go somewhere in between 2500 and 3000 psi. Would you suggest i try 2503 tips? Thanks in advance. Great video.

Great info , However i just picked up a used tri tip surface cleaner for cheap and need to figure out what size nozzles would work best for the size pressure washer i have to , 3300psi 2.4gpm. Any info would be greatly appreciated. thx
Great video. Do u reccommend NOT adjusting unloader valve at all and just using different tips/orifice sizes to get the pressure you want? Have Pressure Pro 2700 psi, 3 gal/min unit. Thx
I have a 4400 psi washer woth 4gpm and i just purchased a 20 in surface cleaner with 2000 rpm. I am only using water cause i dont know how to mid chemicals yet. So is that still asking for trouble? I camnot go back on the pressure washer machine.
Here is the correct information regarding nozzle sizes The sequence of numbers on a nozzle are as follows. 15 indicates the degree of fan and 04 indicates the size of the orifice. IT DOES NOT MEAN 4 GALLONS PER MINUTE. The two factors that determine nozzle orifice size are pressure and gpm. For example, 2.5 gpm@ 1500 psi would require a size 4 orifice. 4 gpm @ 4000 psi would require the same size 4 orifice 5gpm @ 6000 psi would require a size 4 orifice. So as you can see 04, 04.5, 05 .....does not indicate gpm. It simply indicates the size of the orifice. I am an authority on the subject because I invented the spinner in 1991. The original and the best for professionals is the Steel Eagle 30" adjustable spinner with a Deublin union. Regarding concrete; there are three layers to concrete. The top layer is called the fines, below that is the sand belt and below that is that aggregate. Concrete ranges in strength from 2000 psi to 5000 psi on most surfaces that the typical pressure washer contractor would run across. It would be very difficult to damage the fines layer on 5000 psi concrete unless you are using an extremely powerful machine, conversely, it would be very easy to etch 2000 psi concrete with a machine that produces 1500- 2000 psi if you get the nozzle too close to the surface. That applies to the wand and the spinner.
What's your opinion on using smaller machines for diy block paving/slab cleaning? I have a karcher hd5-12c, 2.2gpm (500l/h) 1600psi (110bar) and when looking at charts I think I need 1.8tips, so by the time I go to the 02 tips which are the smallest I can find, will I have enough pressure? I've not yet purchased a rotary cleaner (will only be a cheap one) but the more I look into it and compare against the numbers that petrol jetwashers produce I'm wondering if it'll clean my floor at all? Brill video btw, it's actually the most useful explanation about what's what and why, that I have come accros 👍
I have a question hopefully you can answer it I have a 4400 PSI 4 GPM DeWalt I'm having trouble finding a surface cleaner that is rated for 4400 PSI can I buy a 16 inch surface cleaner and change the tips to make it more compatible
Great video. But I have a question. I have a Simpson powershot 4400 psi 4 gpm and a mi-t-m 20" surface cleaner. It came with 25025 tips for 5 gpm . I just had it rejetted for my 4 gpm machine. By a pressure washer dealer. They put 2502 nozzles in checked spray bar height and said that it is all set up for max performance. With my machine. However they didn't give any guidance on if I should turn down my unloader or what my walk speed should be. Do you have any advice?
Walking speed will be determined by the surface you are cleaning and howl dirty it is. If you see swirls or stripes, it's too fast. I would install a pressure gauge and size up tips to get you in the 2500-3000psi range. Even good quality residential concrete will be given a rash appearance or have the topcoat removed at 4400
Does rotary nozzle requires bigger orifice size? For example I have 030 nozzle printed on my machine, but karcher recommends (suggest on their website) 035 for rotary nozzle. Could I still use 030 o it will overpressure my machine?
Well explained Sir.. very informative video.. but i just have a question, i have a 4200 psi unit/ 4 gal/min, can i use a 15/16 inch surface cleaner with a rating of only up to 3200 psi/2.5gal/min? Would it damage the surface cleaner?
Hey there man great stuff. I have a question straight forward. Say ya have a 20inch surface cleaner and a 4gpm 4000psi pressure washer. Would you say 25025 tips on the surface cleaner would be best for safe use in concrete?
"higher pressure" is kind of a misnomer when it comes to pressure washers or pressure washer tips? The Venturi Principle says that pressure actually drops in a restriction, but velocity increases, so pressure would only increase between the surface being cleaned and water coming out at a higher velocity.
Don’t skimp on a cheap roto nozzle.I have thrown away a few cheaper ones because they don’t last.spend the money get the best you can afford.you will thank yourself for it.
Nice video...very informative. I’ll take a look at the bottom of my Hammerhead to see how far the bar is from the brissels and adjust if it’s too low. To be honest, I’ve had my Hammerhead for 5 years and ran whatever tips came in it and it’s worked well. I now run it with a 4000 psi 4gpm machine last year and did well. I looked at a chart online and it look like if I want to run 25 degree spray pattern and lower my psi to 2200-2500 I would use two 25025s? Is that what you would suggest with my machine? I’m looking at an 8gpm machine like yours but not this year....probably next.

i had a little issue today i bought a used 4000 psi with 4 gpm and a 20 inch surface i tried on a small part of driveway where there was cream coat and where i didn't keep it moving it dug in and created swirls im thinking of either getting a smaller surface cleaner or bigger orphase tips like 25030 on each nozzle what would your recommendations be?
Hey thank you for the video! Very well said. I would like to know what you think I should be using.. I have a 2.5gpm 3200psi washer. My 15" cleaner works good but my now 18" doesnt do as well. I would like to try changing tips. What do you think I should get?
Alex Therrien I don’t think they make nozzles for surface cleaners any smaller than a 1.5 orifice, and at 18’’ for a 2.5 gpm you’re out of range for what it can push. You’ll need something around a 4gpm to push it.
@@domsachs101 I found tips that are 2501. So two tips will equal 2.0 gpm. Then the 1.5 tips times two will equal 3.0 gpm. Let us know if you change your tips on your surface cleaner makes a difference when using your 2.5 gpm pressure washer.
I need to find 25 and 40 degree tips for my RYOBI 1800 PSI 1.2 GPM Electric Pressure Washer (Model # RY141820VNM). It came with only Soap and 15 degree tips. What is the right nozzle size that is compatible with the psi/GPM of this washer? I am having hard time finding the right nozzle even at amazon. Please help.
Hi, I have a question maybe you can help me with. I purchased a 24" surface cleaner at a yard sale for only $100.00. There was no brand information on it but it's stainless steel and on 4 casters. The bar underneath has 3 tip and all are labeled 1/4" MEG 15015. The pressure washer i have now is 3400 psi with a 3.0 gpm. Will this work? Or do i need to replace the nozzel tips. Or do i need to upgrade my pressure washer to 4200 psi - 4 gpm? Also the handle is labeled 4000 psi - 7 us gal / min. Just thought you can help.
Actually that zero point is great for doing tall buildings or quick stripping the dirt on a house. You just have to be fast when you use it. If you are not skilled it will cause damage.
He likes the 40° because his spray bar is 1" from the concrete. 400xx (x = Gpm which depends on the psi u want to achieve and the Gpm of your machine. Look at the chart for it specifically.
Sorry to be picky, but you last 2 numbers are absolutely not the gpm it is your orifice size. 40050 is 40 degree tip with a 5.0 orifice. 5lindustry standards say that 5.0 orifice is 1.45mm. Your math is right with 2 nozzles at 5.0 orifice with 8gpm being 2500 psi but had to mention a terminology correction
Also I was wondering, you say you have 8 gpm doing 10 feet 1 tip would be 16 times but 2 tips would be 32 times. Does a surface cleaner receive full gpm to each tip? So your 8gpm unit is putting out 16gpm total out of your surface cleaner?
Making sure i understand your video if I ran a 4000psi/4gpm, using a 18” surface cleaner and changed my tips to 2502 tip would that work sufficiently without damaging the concrete?
Come back to RUclips bro your videos have helped me on the field more then any RUclipsr or class. Thanks for all the knowledge you’ve shared. It has definitely helped me and my business grow.
So I have a 4000 psi 4gpm comet pump and yes I know it’s not a good pump I just bought it I have 2502 tips in it and I feel it moves too slow oh and it’s a 16inch. I wondering in Your opinion if I order 40 degree tips would it help??
@@brodyswanie822 nah this thread is so old. I've since upgraded to a Magnum 8gpm 3500psi hot washer unit. Upgraded in September and have 400hrs on the machine now. Found my solution 😁👍🏽
I have a gp hammerhead. It came stock with 2520. Im running it on a 4gpm pump on 150ft of hose. Which tip do you recommend. I have seen some striping on residential concrete. I am new and just starting out.
All pressure washer psi is based off 4000 psi. A 3500 psi machine putting out 4 gpm will actually take a higher gpm nozzle to get that 3500. If you ran a 4 gpm machine it would actually try and put out more pressure.

Here is the correct information regarding nozzle sizes
The sequence of numbers on a nozzle are as follows.
4 gpm @ 4000 psi would require the same size 4 orifice
5gpm @ 6000 psi would require a size 4 orifice.

That applies to the wand and the spinner.

I found tips that are 2501. So two tips will equal 2.0 gpm. Then the 1.5 tips times two will equal 3.0 gpm.
Let us know if you change your tips on your surface cleaner makes a difference when using your 2.5 gpm pressure washer.
Any luck ? I’m on the same boat
Which would work best do y’all believe ?
@@sharktale207 best bet was a 4gpm setup!
If i use a 4 gpm machine with a 16" whirlaway would 40 03's be the correct tips?
Hi,
I have a question maybe you can help me with.
Could I run a 3700 psi 3 gallon a minute surface cleaner with a 4400 psi 4 gallons a minute?
So if I have a 2.5glpm washer at 3200 psi what tip should I use for a surface washer that has two tips? Preferably 25°..
Did you ever find your answer ?
Actually that zero point is great for doing tall buildings or quick stripping the dirt on a
house. You just have to be fast when you use it. If you are not skilled it will cause damage.
Sorry, that's a no from me.

What's the best tip size the use for the gp Hummer head "18 in surface cleaner?
Taking into account that you have more than 2 year old concrete, and it is good quality. You should be fine
What would you recommend for a 4gpm 4000 psi. I have a 16 inch surface cleaner. It came with 2502 and 25020. What is the difference?
Bad Weatherfreak if I’m not mistaken, I think they’re the same. It’s like 2 gallons vs 2.0 gallons. They’re the same, but just different “language.”
Bad Weatherfreak what did you end up doing for your set up? It would be a huge help.

So I have a 4000 psi 4gpm comet pump and yes I know it’s not a good pump I just bought it I have 2502 tips in it and I feel it moves too slow oh and it’s a 16inch. I wondering in Your opinion if I order 40 degree tips would it help??
Actually comet is a good pump, General and AR and CAT, if it aint one of those i dont want it lol
I have a Simpson 4400psi 4gpm unit. What unkaoder valve or thermal valve can I get so that when I'm off trigger, it drains to the ground?
Paul Robinson did you end up finding a solution?
@@brodyswanie822 nah this thread is so old. I've since upgraded to a Magnum 8gpm 3500psi hot washer unit. Upgraded in September and have 400hrs on the machine now. Found my solution 😁👍🏽
Paul Robinson thanks anyways good for you🤙🏻
So I've tried like 4 diffent cleaners on oil what do you recommend
Do you change tips for commercial concrete?
I have a gp hammerhead. It came stock with 2520. Im running it on a 4gpm pump on 150ft of hose. Which tip do you recommend. I have seen some striping on residential concrete. I am new and just starting out.
What psi is your unit?
All pressure washer psi is based off 4000 psi. A 3500 psi machine putting out 4 gpm will actually take a higher gpm nozzle to get that 3500. If you ran a 4 gpm machine it would actually try and put out more pressure.
