The moment you say hello to new age stuff is the moment you say goodbye to Christianity. Some new age ideas are old, from Buddhism and Hinduism, but very VERY watered down (and misinterpreted). Those ideas are from different religions, so a Christian would no more want to practice Buddhist things than they would want to incorporate Zoroastrian ideas into Sunday service, or want to start doing human sacrifice to be inclusive to Aztecs. As for other new age ideas, the roots of those ideas are very very very questionable. Such as quantum stuff by Deepak Chopra. He invented that. Its not old. So, if you start talking Quantum Jesus you are literally using a made-up theology that has no basis in anything but one man's desire for wealth and fame. So, those ideas you should dump if you care about authenticity, tradition, scripture, etc. The sad thing is once you start looking for new age stuff in the church you'll be shocked by how much is ACTUALLY there, and it can be hard to detach yourself from it. I mean, the prosperity gospel of folks like Jesse Duplantis is 100% new age, as it comes out of the 1800's!

Good series...learned a lot. Troubled by the use of "Christianity" in concert with "Progressive"

When I was listening there was a couple concerning things. When she went to the church and the man walked past her she felt a water fall of love??? When we read the Word of God we see the that the Holy Spirit bring repentance through a sorrowful heart of the sins we committed against God. I did not hear that. She kept saying she felt lead to leave ... but never said anything about repentance. This is concerning.

She gave up her career and livelihood while having a child to support. What more can you ask? I wonder how many Christians are willing to sacrifice this much. Not many I think

I don’t see the issue with panentheism and Traditional Christianity at all, it’s pretty common within eastern Christianity, goes back to orthodox theology. I wonder if Protestants reject it because it sounds like pantheism.

      Ephesians 5:6
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
      Hebrews 13:9
Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them.
      1 John 4:1
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.
      Romans 1:18
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.
      Colossians 2:8
See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ.

Captive Bird I read the Bible daily, but uh thanks for that I guess. If you are interested in Richard Rohr’s view of scripture you should check out either New Great Themes of Scripture or Things Hidden, they are both excellent.

@@CB-fb5mi I'm very familiar with Rohr's ideas and I read The Universal Christ and wrote an article on it. Rohr holds views completely contrary to the historic faith of Christianity: the first incarnation of Christ is creation; sin is not an issue; Jesus did not atone for sins; Jesus is not the Universal Christ; no one needs salvation, and more. Rohr's beliefs seem influenced heavily by Teilhard de Chardin and some neo-orthodox teachers like Moltmann and others.

TheExastrologer Influenced by Chardin and Moltmann? Of course he is and I have no problem with that!
