i agree, that made this song theirs. A cover is only worth doing if performer/artist can bring something to the song. This rendition brings authentic wistful feeling and tasteful fusion. Nicely done.
@@lordemed1oh that's awesome! You're so smart. I bet you already knew this but most people who know this song know it because of George Strait. This is a wonderful rendition of a popular song. The uniqueness of this rendition is the Western and Eastern combination: Chinese singers of Western song, Chinese and Western instruments. It shows East and West can meet. Shout out to the young man whose guitar is almost as big as he is, but he handled it well!

I am from east of Amarillo and have heard this my entire life, and this is an excellent rendition of this classic that stays true to its rural roots with its instrumentation and tone. I love it and I would think that it would be welcome at any West Texas Rodeo or Bob Wills concert in Turkey, TX.
How about you invite them for a public performance in Amarillo? Talk to the Mayor and local officials, I think that the State Department has cultural exchange programs.🤔
@@elliebellie7816 I've been off and on learning to play one that an ex girlfriend gave me, at best, it sounds like a tomcat on a late night. I really love this smooth deeper tone that this player coerces from it.
Excellent cover of this American classic! 👍 A special shout out to Eric Shi on banjo and vocals 👍 and to Ding Jing who played the fiddle part brilliantly and beautifully on her erhu. 👍❤
I am from Texas, USA and have been to the city of Amarillo about three times. This was lovely and well orchestrated. That fiddle sound was extraordinary.
Please accept my praise from an old Montana cowboy, that has listened to classic ballad over one hundred times.. absolutely beautiful. Music...the universal language for all mankind.
They don't look like your average country music band, but that was very beautiful! I'm not sure how the little guy could play that big guitar, but he did a great job! Very nice!!
Hats off to five talented musicians! A great sound…true and pure. I particularly liked the camera attention to each as they played. Very competent and focused. Where a violin or fiddle is played in other covers, the erhu really evokes the emotion…clear, haunting at times. Thank you for posting this. I’ve listened to it 5 times since finding it an hour ago.
the world is exploding with evil and corruption, and then this appears. It give me hope. As long as we have young people like this that bring joy to others and ask for nothing in return, there is hope.
I love the way Ding Jing plays that Erhu, the sound she gets out of the instrument is truly amazing. Great work, give us a smile once in a while to show you enjoy the music.
Right? It really is soothing, love that description. It’s called an ErHu, literally means ‘Er’ or ‘two’ and ‘Hu’ or ‘string’ in Mandarin Chinese! I was able to visit mainland China in 2012 and got to see it played along with other instruments live in a local band on the street, it was so cool.
A high lonesome sound indeed. That erhu (pronounced err + who) just belongs in bluegrass and country. Beautiful complement to the fiddle. It gives and fills something that the fiddle doesn't.
I sing this at karaoke at our local VFW...... this is very impressive. The oriental violin is awesome. And that youngun on guitar!!! Spectacular! Very well done!
I’m sooooo happy watching and listening to this. God knew I needed to have a happy evening. Day has been crappy. What a beautiful song and group. God bless them all.
I love this. Others have expressed very well how beautiful and skilled all the musicians are. I especially love the banjo and fiddle parts, but it is all wonderful. I hope to hear more from this group.
It was a pleasant surprise when I discovered your Bluegrass rendition of "Amarillo By Morning". I've listened to it probably more than a hundred times. Ms. Jing's performance on the Erhu is very good, performing on a traditional Chinese instrument blends in nicely with the overall performance. I love your Banjo picking too. It sounds awesome & inspiring. I lived in Amarillo, TX for five years & "Amarillo By Morning" is their adopted theme song for the city. I've always liked that song & listening to your Bluegrass performance just adds to the my love for that tune. Thanks so much. Hopefully your group will continue performing country & traditional Bluegrass music in the near future.

Just remarkable!! Here Here to everything good that has been said about this wonderful group. Who knew that such a simple stringed instrument could sing like that!
What a great band. Eric has a great, but non-traditional voice for bluegrass. The single string player is absolutely amazing. Her solo was terrific. I am a long-time Bluegrass guy and I listen to lots of band for a minute and move on in YT. Not the case with Amarillo By Morning. Heard every note. Look forward to listening to more from this group.
