This is pure music, true country, this is the real America. I thought country music was dead... I was wrong. America needs to go back to its roots. This is it.
@@freyafoxmusic "Amarillo by Morning" is written by Terry Stafford and Paul Fraser, in 1973 these guys doing great. i always you starve livin off love folks.
Everything I have seen these people do is first class. Most people do not realize that with no studio mixing these people are mixing the sound by moving in and out (proximity to the microphone) and are consummate professionals that have skill beyond most of the performers seasoned by decades of live performances that use a sound person to make them sound good live. This is an art form in itself above and beyond being able to play the music at hand. I say this as a studio engineer and live performer with over 40 years experience in the studio and on stage, working with 6 rock & roll hall of fame groups, acts and individuals. Well done Petersons. Well done.
honestly, me as a german, I love the USA in great pieces due to such music and the people behind it...wonderful You represent the USA which I love so much..thx..
Liebe Grüße! Another german here trying my best to learn these songs myself... so much fun :) A shame that nobody i know listens to Country/Bluegrass (very few people actually know about Bluegrass here)
Jutn Abend, noch‘n German Fan of this bänd..... finde fast alles toll von dieser Familie....stoße auf tolle songs....werde einige in meine Oldtime Band mitnehmen...echt dufte Mucke...toll instrumentiert!
I'm glad you guys love the U.S.. It is families like the Petersens spread all across America that make it a great country. Not all the hate that's being put forth lately by people who are miss guided. God bless you and your family🙏😊.
I grew up in San Antonio listening to country music and you cannot imagine how many times I've heard this song. It was actually around for some time before George Strait recorded it. This arrangement and performance is so original and well performed it's like a new song again. My day is made.
I am a George strait junkie and Amarillo by morning is my favourite You all did it justice just like you do with every cover but Katie originals are always my favourite Peterson songs
Each one of them has remarkable character to their voices in addition to just sounding amazing. Beyond that, they're all exceptionally good at their instruments. There's a lot of God-given talent, but also you can tell each one of them has really put the work in to make this group sound as good as it can. What a gift to share with us!
Matt - and Fam - what a beautiful rendition, actually put a tear in my eye - road trip from Oregon to Texas to bury my grandfather - my dad hopped out of the van - hugged a sign welcome to Tokio Texas - (sign was that small) we pulled sage bush out of the grave sites - so we had a clean area for my grandfather to rest - beautiful cotton fields around - every time I hear this song - it takes me back to some of the best family I ever had !!!! Beautiful job u-all .... And thank you for taking me back to my roots - for a few minutes!
Tokio!! Haven’t heard that word in a looong time. I spent three years in Levelland in the music program at South Plains College studying banjo with Alan Munde. Loved those years and getting out into the surrounding area playing little school arranged gigs, and at the different monthly “musicals,” basically town jam sessions. RIP grandfather, and thanks for the trip down memory lane.
Incredible talents. They are all amazing but the girl on fiddle is like a radiant beam of light on stage I've noticed. She deeply loves to perform and her smile says it all. Music makes a happy family!
I've always loved the old true country music and it's so amazing that the Patersons music is true old style country music, thanks so much petersons you make me feel like I'm already living in heaven 😊
Amarillo by morning by Terry Stafford, being my all time go to song, was my intro to you guys. Since then you all are my fave bluegrass band. THANKS for all you do.
This is a family so loving together. So beautiful, so talented, so real. Thank you all for all the joy you give to us. Pete Wayne from Dawesville Western Australia.
Lead vocal brother has got such an fine unpretentious sound to his voice and their harmonies are superb! By far the finest Country act I've heard the last 20 years!
Every single song I hear performed by The Petersens makes me love them even more. True artists who work with humility, joy and unmatched skill. They're a blessing to watch and listen to. Definitely a new favorite of mine.
Thanks again for another great performance. I know you all hear it a lot, but Wow, amazing musicians, and such wholesomeness. When I watch and listen to you all it’s a graceful momentary escape and a reminder of the what’s good in this world. Thanks again
@@ThePetersens I don't know if you've heard "Lonely Neighbor" by Oh Honey, but that song is BEGGING for Julianne and Matt to sing it. Begging. Just putting a bug in your ear! :)
One of my favorites from George Strait. I used to do this song all the time back in the 90s and early 2000s at karaoke. Thank you for doing this song! Y’all did a fabulous and fantastic job! I loved it. 🙂🙂🙂👍👍👍
Dear AdoraPiano, you should check out Alison Krauss and Union Station. They have a dobro player named Jerry Douglas, he’s probably the best in the country. Hope you give them a listen. Mike from Orange Beach Alabama
I come from Germany and love country music. You play it so authentically and very precisely. It is a pleasure to hear you. As always, Matt's vocals and accompaniment are excellent.
My wife is a big fan of George Strait's version of this song, but I actually like this one best. I really didn't think I would but it grew on me. Great job Matt!
One of my favorites y'all do! Matt, you did so good on this one! also in this one you get a good look at Matt's strum which is one of the most hypnotizing things I've ever seen. Julianne and Katie, y'all are killing it in the harmony! All of y'all have such beautiful voices! Thanks for all the wonderful hours of music!!!!
Matt, I was so use to hearing the original that I must admit I did not watch all the way thru at first, Last night I watched again and must say that you took this song and made it yours, It sounds excellent!, You have an brilliant smooth great sounding voice, In these difficult times you folks and your music is so comforting.
I would like you to know that you are providing some truly needed joy to the world. You have a beautiful talent as a family a musical group and each of you individually and that includes you Mr. Franz.
You have just blown me away! This is off the scale! This song was made for you Matt. It’s as though you’ve found your wings! Sweet Dobro as always and angelic voices from the ladies. Not forgetting a sturdy bass line from Ma Peterson! You’ve made my days😍
A real gem. Like Matt's song choices and how he sings 'em. With this gang, whoever is in the lead gets a great, enjoyable and cohesive backup by all the rest. Remarkable.
Just what a drizzly British day needs... amazing music, smiles and some summery knees in dresses. Wishing you all safe and look foward to your new album.
Watch Katie carefully. Body, mind, and soul, she is in tune with her music and her family...and Emmett. She literally dances with her fiddle. Remarkable performance!

Julianne has the most UNdisciplined, wonderful smile on earth! One moment she will be straight-faced, concentrating on her singing or her mandolin, then, BAM, out of nowhere comes the widest, dimple-bursting, cheek bending smile. Beautiful!
"I ain't got a dime, but what I got is mine. I ain't rich, but Lord I'm freeeee..." I absolutely love that lyric. Sometimes we are so blessed by God, and we don't appreciate it as much as we should.
One of the Petersen’s performances I most come back to listen to again... Matt’s voice stands out, along with Emmet’s great dobro runs... and the girls of course with all their great accompaniment!
*LYRICS - Amarillo By Morning*
------------
Amarillo by morning, up from San Antone
Everything that I got is just what I got on
When that sun is high in that Texas sky
I'll be bucking at the county fair
Amarillo by morning
Amarillo I'll be there
They took my saddle in Houston, broke my leg in Santa Fe
Lost a wife and a girlfriend somewhere along the way
I'll be looking for eight when they pull that gate
Oh I hope that judge ain't blind
Amarillo by morning
Amarillo's on my mind
Amarillo by morning, up from San Antone
Everything that I got is just what I got on
I ain't got a dime, but what I've got is mine
I ain't rich, but Lord I'm free
Amarillo by morning
Amarillo's where I'll be [x2]

In a nutshell !!

I'd like to see them on PBS!
'I ain't rich but, Lord, I'm free'.
Words to live your life by,
indeed
and ....
I ain't got a dime
But what I got is mine ...... words to live by ....
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left 😁
ironic cause George Strait is mega rich

Ha! That's the more-modern and updated version. 'Tis, also, why he sings, "I ain't got a dime."
What a graceful family...
This reminds me of several west Texas trips I took with a few of my Ranger buds.
And now the guitar player is singing. You can ALL sing. I'm just sitting here like 😲😍

That steel guitar gives goosebumps.
Flat top steel is pretty good. Hard to beat Ace in the Hole band on this song, but they do pretty good.
I think it's a dobro, not a pedal steel guitar.
The smiles from this family just make the dark turn to light.
