I'm amazed. Years ago I sat next to Randy Travis on a flight from Nashville to LA. At the time this song was the #1 country song on the charts. As someone who isn't into country music, I had no idea who he was except the flight attendants and a couple passengers asked for his autograph. I finally asked who he was and he told me he was just a singer. We talked about baseball all the way to LA. Randy was one of the nicest people I've ever met and really humble for being such big celebrity. I hope he gets to hear this great rendition of his song.
Incorporating bluegrass banjo into this classic Randy Travis hit gives it even more life, energy, and appeal than the original. Well done, father and son! 👍
Right there, folks. There doesn't get NO finer music than what's happening right there. Made me cry unexpectedly. Not just the subject matter, but the playing and particular tonality of the vocals... man.... music. Thank you for blessing the world with what you do and please keep doing it. :)
Cool videos! I come from Randy Travis' hometown (North Carolina) and live in China and play the banjo. Most people here that play guitar only have passing knowledge of what the banjo is, so it's very interesting to see your videos.
When I saw your little girl sing Jingle Bells her excitement Outweigh her performance Into total disappointment tears Life as a musician load failure She will in time bee star I sea Across cultures plus ocean Love will win in the end Until that day continue friend Singing in second language To reach out & touch peace Is a clue about sacrifice to John Lennon , Imagine ( Beatles /Fab Four )
If I were speaking Chinese, I'd mess up all the tones and say something totally different! So yup, a good job of singing in English, and in a specific dialect too!
This performance really is good. Are we sure that you don't speak English ? The performance would be one step better if you could include Rang in the singing, even if he joins for just the final "Amen."
A father and son playing music could bring tears to an old man's eyes.
I’m proof
Me too!

Randy is grinning from ear to ear....😁
Shi Rang has that rhythm down! Soon, he'll be stealing lead from Dad, I think. Nice job, Shi Family. Thanks for sharing.

From the deepest hollers of the heart.
Randy would be proud.
Excellent Job dad, you and the little dude nailed another one. Fan from Texas!
Currently binge watching all these videos, very impressed
Excuse me while I get the tissues. I'm over here getting emotional because it's a beautiful rendition
This is fantastic. I especially love that John Hartford tuning on the banjo. And that little guy has that Blue Ridge flat top sounding pretty good.
Well done. Enjoying your songs and the great performances. Wonderful channel.
That was very good. As someone from Missouri, in the middle of the USA, I'd be interested in how you discovered bluegrass music.
Very nice rendition.❤

Great job guys.

@@suburbanbansheeno, that's not good enough to cover a country classic of such magnitude.
