Same. I'm 13 as I'm writing this and was born and raised in the countryside of Ohio even to this day, but absolutely *HATE* modern country music. Bluegrass is alright, but country music now is absolute garbage. I prefer to listen to what my parents and grandparents (especially my dad) would normally listen to. Things like Pink Floyd (especially their early stuff with Syd Barrett), Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, you get the idea.

My father was born in Ballydavid, on the Dingle Peninsula. He left in 1925 to sail to America for a new life and never returned. I've always felt sad about this because I never asked him why he didn't return before he passed. I visited his village in 2005 and felt his spirit there. It was a truly magical place. 💚☘️
I know Ballydavid well and it's a beautiful place and I'm glad that you felt a connection with your Dad and as someone who lived abroad for 25 years I came home simply because at the time everything lined up to make it possible for us to move and we had almost given up on the possibility of moving back, love from Ireland 🇮🇪
My dad left Scotland in 1960, I have a lot of similar feelings about things I never asked. His grandfather was Irish and our whole family on that side is extremely Irish. Never got to figure many things out. But very grateful for my dad. He played this music, took my to Celtic games… great culture. Now I continue it here in Canada

It's actually called irish, only people outside ireland would ever call it Gaelic, funnily enough the word for Irish in irish is "gaeilge" which can be confusing for some because it's a bit similar to what people think it is. Irish or gaeilge.

Finding myself listening to this wonderful music remembering my wonderful father in law who passed away 1 year ago today. He was from Limerick and found his way to the UK after many years of struggles, I thank him for that as I met such an amazing, warm and loving person who I could not imagine not meeting. We miss you every day. Listening to his favourite traditional music has made my tears flow but a smile is all he would show and your heart would melt. Miss you so much Will. xxx

I am Argentinian and we have our own folkl and Irish music really fascinates and enchants me. I discovered this music when I was a teenager and I try to teach my daughter about this culture that I decided sent her to an Irish school in Buenos Aires and there they celebrate their traditions . good bless ireland :-)

Mexican Here. With this music and the theme i can't avoid thinking of a fantasy themed world. In fact. If what lies beyond death is isekai (rebirth in another world scheme), i can imagine this being one of the places where i would go more often. After a long day, exploring the land, hunting monsters and criminals and then doing other quests for money, nothing feels better than quenching the thirst with a glass of beer. Same. I'm 13 as I'm writing this and was born and raised in the countryside of Ohio even to this day, but absolutely *HATE* modern country music. Bluegrass is alright, but country music now is absolute garbage. I prefer to listen to what my parents and grandparents (especially my dad) would normally listen to. Things like Pink Floyd (especially their early stuff with Syd Barrett), Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, you get the idea.
If you’re from Appalachia, your probably the descendant too people who did exactly this. So it makes sense why the music would resonate with you.

My father was born in Ballydavid, on the Dingle Peninsula. He left in 1925 to sail to America for a new life and never returned. I've always felt sad about this because I never asked him why he didn't return before he passed. I visited his village in 2005 and felt his spirit there. It was a truly magical place. 💚☘️
I know Ballydavid well and it's a beautiful place and I'm glad that you felt a connection with your Dad and as someone who lived abroad for 25 years I came home simply because at the time everything lined up to make it possible for us to move and we had almost given up on the possibility of moving back, love from Ireland 🇮🇪
My dad left Scotland in 1960, I have a lot of similar feelings about things I never asked.
His grandfather was Irish and our whole family on that side is extremely Irish. Never got to figure many things out.

It's actually called irish, only people outside ireland would ever call it Gaelic, funnily enough the word for Irish in irish is "gaeilge" which can be confusing for some because it's a bit similar to what people think it is. Irish or gaeilge.

Finding myself listening to this wonderful music remembering my wonderful father in law who passed away 1 year ago today. He was from Limerick and found his way to the UK after many years of struggles, I thank him for that as I met such an amazing, warm and loving person who I could not imagine not meeting. As an American, with all Irish grandparents immigrants, this also makes me proud. My grandmother on my father’s side played the fiddle magnificently until her late 70’s and arthritis took over. God bless her and Erin go bragh.

I am as English as they come, but my Mum and Dad have great great grandparents who immigrated from Ireland to England, so I still feel I’m allowed to enjoy this music as it’s part of my ancestry!

Don't need to be Irish to appreciate this music. I'm from NYC but all my grandparents were Irish and I've been over loads of times. I love trad music....however I've been all over the world and have loved and experienced various music from various cultures I have no genetic or cultural links myself too...were all human in the end

Im Yugoslavian, living in Sweden, and i loooove irish traditional music so much!! it reminds me of my homelands traditional music!! We have alot in comon with irish people, we also love to drink and dance
Music from all parts of former Yugoslavia (I have been there when It was Yugoslavia) is astonishing, I am a Bretón musician, I have no words to describe my admiration for the différent musics of your country!
Losing this music and culture is not possible for us Irish, it is in the blood running through our hearts and veins.

I'm sorry but I dont understand why people come to listen to a traditional sound of anywhere and give it a thumbs down if you like give it a thumbs up and show them love if not it's ok just leave it that's my opinion at least anyway I grew up with parents who encouraged us to listen to different types or genres of music so I always try to see what the different sounds of other countries are and I absolutely love yall style of playing it's so beautiful and even the sad songs for some reason make me wanna dance y'all are welcome to play at my house any day.
