The best version of my favorite song!

I remember driving my dads truck after he passed and he had this in his cassette player (this was in 2009.....he had a 91 Ford F-150 Lariat, in IMMACULATE condition). I remember turning the truck on, and this song starting, and I just sat there crying. Every time I hear this song, it makes me tear up. I remember going to rodeos with my dad when I was 5-6.....he rode the bulls and I rode calves....my sister did barrel racing......Oh what I would give to have it to do all over again.
That’s what Jesus died for, to give it all back to us.

You do this song proud.
I can't listen to this without crying. I lost my husband to cancer nearly 7 years ago. We were married for 38 years and loved one another so deeply that it nearly killed me after he was gone. I had always hoped and beleived that we'd last until our 90s and would dance on our 60th wedding anniversary to this song. But it wasn't meant to be. I love him with all my heart and always will. I'll never find another love as true as ours.
You are a wise and lucky woman. Enjoy your memories. Nothing can ever take those away.
That is true love....

That fiddle player is one of the very best!
I wish I knew his name
The name of that "fiddle player" is Gene Elders, and he's been with George Strait's "Ace in the Hole Band" since 1985. Trained in classical music, Gene's discipline in playing violin is obvious and he has such a casual manner of delivery. That wailing final solo very nearly steals the show :)
@@trueblue2k2 Yes it does!
@@trueblue2k2 I meant no disrespect when I said " fiddle player". In central Texas we call a violin a fiddle.
To think this song was not even a number one is stunning!
