I needed this comment. I had 3 mental breakdowns in a tutorial that involved this method of a magic ring. This really inspired me. I have built up the courage and finally completed that tutorial. Thank you sooooo much
It's 2,30 am. I've been trying for 1 hour, hopeless, I thought that wasn't going to work neither but.. for the first time, the yarn didn't break! Thank you SO much, now I can sleep happy & in peace😂❤❤
This is by far THE BEST magic ring explanation and technique I’ve ever seen and I’ve watched A LOT of videos. I was in tears one day bc I was so frustrated.
I don't usually comment on videos, I just wanted to say thank you SO MUCH for this! I just learned how to crochet in October and tried to make a MR with this yarn and got super frustrated. I've come back to this video probably 6 times, I use it for every chenille yarn project I do. Thank you for saving my sanity!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I love the look of the plush yarn but it always catches when trying to slide the magic ring closed. I can't wait to try your method.
The solution is that you make your ring as tiny as possible from the beginning. Pull the circle almost close after you have just started the ring. For beginners it's quite difficult to see the right "hole" to go through and also make sure to pick up the second yarn (yarn end) as well.
@@thelnepoet1 You're welcome 🙂 My kids (upper-elementary students) always want this plush yarn and then realize how hard it is to make the magic ring. So I mostly end up doing it for them ;-) The problem is that the actual yarn that the plush is attached to is very thin so that easily gets "knotted" when making the magic ring. Even after only one stitch it's very hard to pull the ring close. If you pull too hard the thin yarn will snap.
Thank you for clearly pointing out the tail end from the ball end of the string. This is a great tutorial even if you aren't using plush yarn. I followed another tutorial and ended up with a cone. I figured out what I had done wrong while I was watching your plush turtle tutorial and figured out that I was making the magic circle with the wrong end.
Hey! I started recently with crocheting and i wanted to crochet with a fluffy yarn, but couldn’t do the magic ring with it. I am soooo thankful for your Video here! This really helped me because the other tutorials didn’t explain they just did it without explaining and I’ve tried many different tut and this one was the one that really helped! The magic ring is rlly worth it again, thank you
Thank you for this. If only I had seen this before I started a piece with a magic ring. It wouldn’t close! You have helped me for the future, thanks so much. 👍

Thank you so much for this! Recently got some crochet kits that only use Flutterby yarn. I was watching other videos and struggling sooo much... but this video helped and I did it! It took quite a few attempts to properly get it after some frustration with the yarn breaking but I've got it now. I did amigurumi quite a bit a few years ago but now I'm trying to start up the hobby again. Typical that the first project I start is one with Flutterby yarn 😅 but I'm happy that I persisted! Thank you - this video was a lifesaver 💗

This is my FAVORITE tutorial for the magic ring ever!! I’m trying to learn to crochet stuffed animals and it looks so fun! Thanks so much for the help ❤❤😊😊
Wow thank you so much for such clear instructions. Thank you for being awesome!
Thanks so much for this video. It helped me so much! I purchased the same yarn as you and it kept on braking. With this video my magic rings no longer rip when I pull the tail tight. Thanks again, I subscribed!
You saved my life with this video. I bought tons of plush yarn for Xmas (yes, this early) and could not tighten the magic circle without ripping the yarn.
@@kaylee5028 One time I managed to do it as in the video and never again 😅 The method I use is slipknot, chain 3 and I crochet into the first chain just like I would into a magic cirlce. Since these chenille yarns are so thick, it will look like a magic circle.
Thank you so much!!! I have watched so many of your videos, but I could never figure out your way of doing your magic ring. It looks so neat every time. 😅
Super helpful thank you! I have been struggling with the magic ring with plush yarn, this was super easy to follow, and I was able to finally do it! Thank you!!
Omg. You are amazing. This not only is the easiest magic loop I’ve ever tried and I’ve tried quite a few but it makes my stitches so much more loose and even!
@bolegzystencjonalny the solution I have been using is to wrap the yarn around the tip of my index finger making the ring as small as possible and then working the number of stitches needed for the pattern. So far I haven't had any issues doing that
A suggestion for if the issue that you're having is that you can't get the ring to pull when you use flush yarn you csn use regular worsted weight yarn for the ring. Select a similar color but it really will just disappear into the floof. When you get to the step where you are putting tension on the working yarn and pulling it through that's when you'll switch to your plush yarn. . For the first stitch I just laid the plush yarn on top of the worsted weight yarn and pull them both through and then from then on I dropped the worsted weight yarn and just work with the plush yarn. If the problem you're having is you can't figure out which ring to pull at which step to close the magic ring I was really struggling with that too and never quite figured it out. I learned how to do mine using the moogly Blog video. Using this method I work in the plush yarn where she does the first chain stitch.

Have been trying to get 12 SC into mr using Flutterby chunky yarn, need to make 42 of these for a blanket. I'd worked out that this magic ring method would be best, and that I should wrap the yarn round two fingers instead of one, but I still couldn't do it. So thanks for the tutorial, I managed it, just had to pull the yarn really hard. But this does leave a long tail to cut off so I'm throwing away lots of yarn. I think I'll change the pattern to be 6 SC instead, more like yours, as the pattern is for a non-fluffy chunky yarn which doesn't crochet up as big.
Calm and soothing set of instructions, thank you. Sadly, it didn't work for me.. I ended up with two rings after doing the 6 sc and as I pulled the tail, it only closed one of the rings.. Followed it exactly but no luck so far after many many attempts.. Thanks.
So since we're all living the same life.. How are y'alls rooms doing? Cuz mine's drowning in fluff

Thanks.
