Thank you SO much for the tip about using medium-weight yarn to start your magic ring. I just tried it, and it made everything so much easier. Brilliant!
Omggggg thank you sooo much I'm a beginer and learning the Magic ring was MISERABLE!!! when I finally did it I loved it and wanted to make soft plushies so I got some fluffy yarn and was SOOO excited to make it till it kept breaking on me and my magic ring wouldn't close😭 And I didn't want to go back the square 1 and looked up some vids and this was the first one I was and it worked the first time!!!! Tyyyy
Hi i just needed the first part, but i watched anyway to the end and omg this was so helpful 😩 I got frustrated at the beginning cuz u were doing it so slow but It was actually very good.Your Instructions were clear and you showed every detail, wich is not shown in other tutorials, thank you!
That is brilliant! The MR struggle with this type of yarn is so frustrating. This is one of those simple solutions that I always wonder why I never thought of it myself
This was SO helpful …. Can you help with “seeing” the “v” in the first few rows after the initial magic ring. I struggle to see the place for the stitch once I’ve completed the magic ring ….
THANK YOOOU! I’m new to crocheting and just got some chenille yarn that I was STRUGGLING with so bad. This helped so much! Especially that last technique! Thank yoooou! 💜
Thank you so much for doing this video. I knew how to do a magic ring but for a Halloween project, I decided to use bulky chenille yarn and ran across the issue of it breaking and not closing the circle. Like you said I was very close to throwing it across the room and scrapping the idea until I found this video.
I was hoping this would say how to make your magic ring stay flush with the rest of the work. I’m kind of new and my first row always pops out more than the rest. So if it’s going to be a sphere it’s more like an oval. I don’t know what I’m doing wrong but it’s from the magic ring I think.
that happens to me, too. I think it is a tension issue? I'm always afraid my yarn is going to snap when I pull it, so I do the single crochets in the magic ring looser than normal
I use to have this problem too! I always start any projects with 8sc for the magic ring, then the second round is a full increase round (2sc in each stitch for 16 stitches) and then the third round is [sc,inc ) for a total of 24 stitches, I find that and also not having a super super tight tensions helped me keep this from happening !
Was facing same issues. I even tried 8 sc post magic ring, it didn't work. I kept on trying multiple combinations. Finally it worked with 12 SC post magic ring. And then the normal increase pattern. I believe we need to keep trying multiple stitches as the size of the yarn and needle makes a difference.
Hey! This was very useful. Thankyou so much!! I have a question, it's not related to magic ring. Can we make a bag with this type of yarn? Because I'm scared the yarn might break off?
Hello! I can add it to my list! I’ve never made a bag before but I would think using stronger either cotton or a tshirt yarn would be better as this yarn may not be very forgiving with dirt/getting wet ! But I can do some research on it forsure !
@@doubledutchcrochet Yes, I just found out chenille yarn is not suitable for making bags and it won't last long. Thanks for replying! I've made one bag with cotton yarn and it really turned out great!!!
I’m not a beginner with crochet but I want to start making more plushies and with the plush yarn I keep missing a stitch or two and I have to start over. With crochet I’m the type of person who wants my work to be prefect, knowing all the stitches are correct, you know?
Yes absolutly! And if you want to make plushies your stitch count needs to be right or the pattern won’t work correctly! Just have to take your time to see the stitches and it will get easier!
@@doubledutchcrochet I agree, and I finally got it! After trying over 1 million times I learned some ways to make sure my stitches are correct. One way that does it for me is sliding my finger under the stitches to make sure it’s a stitch which keeps me from skipping stitches and accidentally crocheting increases. Now I really look forward to crocheting plushies!
Sorry to say my dear, the issues of the yarn coming apart is due to the quality of your yarn. I use Bernat blanket #6 yarn and almost never have those fraying issues.
Bernat and this yarn are vastly different! this yarn is much lighter and softer and unfortunately any brand I’ve tried in chenille yarn does shed! That’s okay though I prefer the finished product of the chenille yarn vs the Bernat blanket !

Great tip, thank you so much! When and where do we cut the medium yarn? Wont't it unravel if I cut it at the point your video finishes?
OMW!!!! Your teqnique worked the very first time!!! Thank-you 😂❤

Finally a video to show how to deal with this yarn! Thx!

I think this happens if you don't pull the magic ring tight enough! - it sometimes takes a few tries with fluffy yarns 😖

If you skip the first row of day 6 SC into the magic ring you'll stop this from happening
Omg that worked hmmm pull it straight up … awesome thank you

Can u believe when i picked up chenille and it was stiff and annoying and i was ready ro quit, this is like the only vid i found. 🎉🎉🎉
Yay I’m glad it helped ! It’s a hard yarn to get use to but love the end result !
Do u just use the acrylic yarn in the magic ring or for the whole project ?
Just for the first initial magic ring ! Then hide the yarn ends inside your project!
Genius!!!
What size yarn and crochet hook are you using?
OMG YOU ARE AMAZING. I HOPE YOU SLEEP GREAT AT NIGHT, EVERY NIGHT. LIFE SAVER!!!🎉🎉🎉

Haha awe I’m sorry I won’t have the time to do that before Christmas but it is on my list for the new year!
Ok thank you
Too fast for the yarn over pull thru bit. Is there a way to adjust the speed? 😭
My cricle wont stay flat
That’s ok because if it doesn’t stay flat that means you can curve and make a plush that’s what I do ❤️❤️❤️
Can u pls

Disagree. I've used bernat yarn and it has done the same fraying
Thanks so much, won't waste my money then! @@reginacecconi4773
