- The WRC license didn't get off to the best of starts, but over the last couple of years, the developer has really come into its own and become increasingly confident in its abilities. Last year's WRC 9 in particular was a solid treat for rally racing sim fans, and the hope is that the upcoming WRC 10 is going to keep the series' upward trajectory going.
We're less than a month away from the game's launch at this point, and there's plenty that we've learned about it so far. Here, we're going to take a look at the key details you should know about WRC 10.

Tbh I'm interested in buying it only because of Rally Croatia, as Croatia is my homecountry and I attended the event
What I love - is that WRC 10 is coming out on Steam BEFORE we get WRC 9 lol (WRC 9 comes out like 2 weeks later I think). Unless the publisher decides to pull WRC 10 3 days before it's Steam release to be Epic exclusive like they did with WRC 8. Didn't forget that one.
To be honest, I thought I had WRC 9 through Steam but I guess not then, who cares?
I hate this, as I had to buy 9 on Epic and the Epic launcher is miserable. My game is also glooded with bugs, which could be due to this.
Now I have to buy it *again* on Steam, ALONG with 10....
WRC 9 isn’t worth a buy. They only ever did one update on it for bugs and patches. The cars handle way too easy, still bugs, the cars feel literally weightless, it was just a copy paste to fill in until WRC 10 got here. I’m waiting this time till WRC 10 is like $20
I'm just a little disappointed they weren't able to add the Arctic Rally Finland. Which was part of this year's championship.
I feel like, the best WRC game is WRC Rally Evolved. The codriver reacts, the spectators a dodge the car, the suspension and audio feels and sounds great. There are also cool details like opponents crashing out and then marshals standing in front of their cars waving for you to slow down, opponents trying to reach the end of the stage in damaged cars that end up obstructing you, freaking random events like landslides and pipe bursts. Only downside was it not being on PC and I need an emulator to play it now.

I hated the series until WRC8 released and was a changed man...my only gripe with the series is now having purchased 8 and 9 is that there are practically identical...
Really hope WRC10 changes it up a bit from its predecessor

Looks good. Not played any rally games for years, so think WRC10 will be great to jump into for a newbie like me.
well the physics are the only good thing. Everything else is pure rubbish
Stages are awesome, graphics are great for the most part on PC at least, it's just some stages that look a bit dated but they are still fun to drive on. I think Wales had some of the less nice looking ones but since they are mostly gravel I still enjoy them. Then you have Spain, Greece, Mexico and many others that look great. I love the stage design in this game it's crazy at times and really immersive. Sale on steam and other sites now so a good time to pick it up.

@@paulbowler5345 Same, just launch up Chile or Finland forests and drive as fast as you can until you lose control. It's such a rush, love it!

I hope they finally get the lag issues fixed on P.C.

With the announcement on a PSVR 2, they also mentioned that Sony aims for all games to be playable in both 'flat' as in VR. So maybe the year that the new VR set will release, WRC games will be in VR? After playing Dirt Rally in VR on PSVR, even with WRC beautifull stages, it's hard not to be able to play a rally/racing game in VR.

Probably gonna have to wait for 2023 when codemasters gets the license for VR.

Everything in this video sounds like an advertisement for this game, is that what you mean? anyway, these minimum PC requirements are a joke! You will be lucky if you manage to play smoothly on the recommended ones.
Wrc 9 ran pretty smoothly with what the recommended settings for this one are, so there's a chance. (I had a 4790k and 1070 when 9 was released)

Is WRC finally going to be VR compatible ?
Sounds like the game might actually look like it has modern graphics this time. Hope the cars don't drive almost the same this time too. The wrc class cars had very minor differences in handling in wrc 9 so it really didn't matter which one you picked. Career mode also needed fixing so engineers don't randomly disappear and you don't get impossible sponsor tasks.
Good points! I have the same issues with missing epic crew members. Also one of the objective is "not using soft tires", while the other is "not using hard tires". Fine, I'll race with rims only to get them done.
@@vincentzhao7627 Yeah. I did actually finish a race with 0 durability on all tires at the end once due to that. One other sponsor task that irked me was "do a specific event type x times in however many weeks" and then the game would not give you any of those for the entire time.
The thing that stops me buying WRC games is the dog shit car audio year after year. Just youtube WRC pure audio videos and those cars sound incredible but the audio in WRC games even though they have the entire WRC license are still absolute dog shit in their games. I honestly would sacrifice graphics for pure audio as the cars in real life are deafening
Same for me. The car sounds in Wrc9 are awful. I can't get hooked to the game because of it.
Literally the reason WRC9 was pure crap for me compared to Dirt Rally 2.0, even though the stages are so so much better than those in DR2...
@@HDB112 i bet WRC 10 still has WRC 5 slaughtered Finland stages. Those stages dont Look like real ones at all. Well except harju and the 3 new stages they added on WRC 9

@@tungabunga4107 I still play non VR games.. But I find it hard to play non VR driving games when there are so many good ones to choose from. Dirt 2.0 will be my rally option, it's a shame they didn't bother implementing VR in WRC that's all, it might have been worth buying.

i have played every game in the series and my favorite one is WRC7 with gamepad and WRC8 with a wheel (PC versions). Don't think WRC10 will any differ much from WRC8, WRC9

The way they get around this is to have so few copys in the UK. That way its never on offer.
Exactly. Last year WRC 9 was 50% off during the Black Friday sale on PlayStation Network, I don't know about Xbox or Steam. I think it's better to wait for the discount because meanwhile they fix the numerous bugs that this series always has, so it's a win-win.

Kylotonn is getting WRC 11 next year, but in 2023 the license is moving to Codemasters.

There are some Chile tracks yes, I really enjoy them. What I don't like is them removing tracks in general from previous versions. Like in this there is no Australia which also had some fun tracks. I hope they make a DLC with all tracks missing.

Hope they optimize their wrc game better on std ps4, cause up to 8 it's a tiring headache, you can barely see where the road is going sometimes from slow framerate. Its a blurry mess.
Also sounds of cars, headache tiring as well quality. And not cool good sounds.
Just bought the game on my ps5 because the price was 75% off so only 15 dollars that's nothing for a basically new game

when are rally games going to get true particle effects and realstic water splashes. textured sprites just look lame.

Yes WRC 9 is great. I prefer it over Dirt Rally 2. If you are on PS5, the DualSense features are some of the best.
@@Rendani as a long time dirt 2.0 player, I recently tried wrc9 just for the dual sense features and I’m really impressed. The game itself is also really good besides the dual sense. Tracks designs are very rich and challenging. But still nothing beats dirt 2.0 in vr.
When it works, it is brilliant, but unfortunately (and I’m only speaking about WRC 9 here) it’s absolutely plagued with technical issues, most are relatively minor but some are really, really bad, and so frequent that it makes it unbelievably frustrating to play.
*I should also say that as far as I know, a lot of the bugs I’ve come across have been in the game since launch or even WRC 8, so it seems Kylotonn aren’t exactly bothered with fixing things
After dirt it would be like arcade racing for you. You cant feel weight of the car, you almost cant feel difference between rwd or awd cars etc
@@superstar5042 Multiple real life rally drivers have stated that WRC have the most authentic feel compared to Dirt Rally 2.0. So I guess real life rally is arcade then.

Can you just play a wrc championship instead of career mode. Last wrc I had you had to start with junior wrc or wrc 2, sucked to me as you couldn’t switch on and do a wrc championship straight away
Came here to find out. Can't even do a single rally weekend in 8 or 9. Not buying this if you can't do a single rally weekend or championship with WRC class.

Not sure how it works but there is a season mode, is that what you look for? Career is still starting from junior but I think that is kinda cool otherwise longevity will be greatly reduced and no real goals in career which also suck.
They cant even fix their steering in the game so it match your real steering input. Its so easy to do but devs are lazy sht

Ehm what was that you were saying about them building on the career mode year on year? Cause they literally copy and pasted the exact career mode mode from WRC 8 to WRC 9. Also from the previews of WRC 10 they have absolutely butchered the crap out of the car sounds from last year's game too. Pretty scummy of them to bundle WRC plus in the game and charge more given it's not actually game related content.

It’s just pretty sad they drop WRC 9 and don’t even fix like any bugs before just dropping a whole new game. Just says WRC 9 was a filler copy paste of WRC 8 with physic changes sold at full price. Learned my lesson twice now, don’t buy at full price.

Exactly. Probably 4 stages each country and then you get to drive them back and forth in different lengths. That's awful.

Zero. The only thing wrc is better than dirt is stages. Cars, physics, sounds, graphics, driving experience is still a lot better in dirt rally
There are no dust and waterspash effects on ps4 pro and xbox one x and the framerate is a joke. Wrc 9 is better on Last gen!

I don't know what you're looking at,, but I'd say WRC10 looks an easy step above DR2, especially in higher res/4K on the next gen consoles and PC.

I like WRC art style, it's very real life and a bit washed on the warmer places like greece and spain. It looks beautiful and right up my alley. I like the saturated forests and gravel tracks a bit less but they are still good just not as good as the others in choice of colors and more saturation of them.
This game gets a ton of hate mainly from fans of DR2. I have both games for the PS5 and both are good games but I definitely prefer WRC 10. The stages are so beautiful and the game supports 4k60 unlike DR2 which maxes at 1080p. But technically DR2 is a PS4 game, Codemasters is not going to give the game a PS5 upgrade.
Btw I'm using the Fanatec DD PRO GT wheel with load cell brake and 2 bass shakers on a 8020 rig.
SWITCH VERSION WILL BE PRETTY MUCH USELESS UNLESS THEY REMOVE THE SUPER DISTRACTING SHADOW POP IN THAT RUINS THE PREVIOUS SWITCH ENTRIES...
120 stages...such a lie from Kylotonn. It's effectively one stage per rally with bits cut off. Sick of driving the same section of stage over and over again. The only rallies with more than one stage are ones with S.S. stages. Also the audio improvements is another lie. The cars sound like utter crap.
